The only reason The Durham is not receiving 5 stars is that the other guests were obnoxiously loud from 2am to 430 am. I called and complained twice. The noise continued way too long. The night shift person made the excuse for the noisy party stating they just came from a party on their roof top bar and stated she would make a note for the first shift staff. When I checked out, the first shift staff had no record of my complaint.

Parking was down and across the street.Immediately walked into loud music in the lobby from a DJ. Could not hear the front desk person giving instructions. He gave us keys to a room on the 3rd floor but wrote 5th floor room number. Had us trying to enter someone’s room. Elevators work out of order so we had to use the service elevator. We were told we could order coffee with room service but we received items to MAKE coffee which is not how it was described. We wanted to try a different hotel experience but I fired this one wasn’t for us

Our room was wonderful and the staff were friendly and responsive. There was some work being done do we had to use the service elevator for our whole stay. We're already talking about our next trip to Durham and our next stay will be here.

Great stay

The Hotel was in a great location to walking, restaurants, bars. Hotel was well kept although could use some upgrades. The food in both restaurants was amazing. The Rooftop Bar had the best cheeseboard at 10pm! Our room in the first night was on the side of the bar Queenies open till 2am so we didn’t sleep well. The hotel moved out room the next night and upgraded us. Service was great and the coffee bar is open all the time for coffee- excellent pastries and candies and beer! Great stay

Only working elevator was service elevator . Normally , that would be an issue .. but the staff is very friendly & hotel had a very unique vibe . Food is delicious !

This is the place to stay

The staff was great. Ezra at the desk was a complete pro. They were dealing with a minor issue the day we checked in but the whole staff made it a non issue. Location is perfect, nice sized rooms and dont miss the rooftop for a cocktail and some small bites.

Great location, park at the deck across the street (free on weekends/$25 weekdays)- walk to tons of great restaurants downtown. Very cool boutique hotel details like fresh ground coffee dropped at your door in the mornings, and tray of local Durham-made snacks in the room for reasonable prices. Some biological looking stains on our sofa were offputting and our robes had some stains as well. Our carpet in the room had a big bleached out spot at the entrance. The cleaning isn’t impeccable- but I definitely felt the bed linens, towels, and shower/bathroom were clean. Bed was comfy, room was quiet. The desk staff brought up water and ice when we needed it, they were also very friendly and helped with making recommendations. We were celebrating an anniversary and the hotel sent up a kind gift for our special occasion. Would stay again.
