This hotel has some noisy rooms. From the outside I was woken up by carlarms and inside you hear a lot of noise from other rooms like toilets flushing. The staff is friendly and the location is ok, but do bring earplugs
I am giving this Hotel 3 stars because 1 there is no coffee maker in the room and 2 there is very little if any TV Channels with English. NO news stations. The rooms are nice and have a nice bathroom. If you want a quiet room ask for second building not facing the street. Housekeeping has been fine. Though they keep opening the window and I must remember to close it before I go to sleep. The weather here can change on a dime. As I was told you get all 4 seasons in 1 day. Also, the staff speaks very little English. I was lucky to be with some Spanish speakers who helped me out.
At first, the hotel looked nice, but housekeeping was making "surprises" almost every day to me and all my colleagues, who stayed at the same time. They were supposed to bring water after cleaning. One day they did it, another day not. I asked a receptionist to bring me some dishes (plate, cup, etc), I got it, but on the next day, housekeeper took it away. I asked again, and they took it again. I complained to the receptionist and she said that she will talk to housekeeping manager, but again my dishes disappeared. After that, I just started hiding dishes. But there were other things. They could take shampoo and not put a new one, or the same with shoe cleaner. One time trash bin was in the middle of the room and without bag in it. One day I came to my room and didn't find my own mug. I told it to receptionist, he later called and said that the person, who was cleaning the room, broke my mug and he will buy a new one tomorrow. On the next day I found new mug, but it was obvious, that it was used and not new. Housekeeping should help and not make any problems. Right now I live in another hotel. Here I don't have any issues, they clean what they have to and don't touch what's not supposed to. I'm very pissed off by Dann Carlton and will definetely choose another hotel next time.
I only stayed 1 night over, but as a frequent traveller I know that details counts on both service and quality. they helped me with laundry for the same day and I could resume my travel with clean clothes. Highly recommended and would go back to it when in Quito.
Stayed here for 2 nights as a family. Check in was easy and service good. Upgraded to two suites which were large and spacious and well appointed. The gym is a highlight and large pool. The wine bar, tea room and coffe shop are all good features. Had a decent coffee and pastries there. One thing is that rooms don't appear to have air con. Good range at breakfast and they cooked eggs on demand if you ask.
Very personable, helpful staff at check in - Lobby simple but welcoming as was the doorman, etc. Our room was comfortable with most of the amenities I like (no coffee maker, though). This hotel is within short walking distance (a few blocks) of Quito's lovely and extensive La Carolina park and 10 minutes to the very nice Quicentro shopping mall, making the hotel's convenience factor high. The standout amenity for guests is the hotel's wonderful fitness center. The one big disappointment was the breakfast (for which we were charged, as I recall, $15 per person)... it was all wrong - the dining room noisy, the all you can eat buffet nice to look at but by American and European standards just not the right foods prepared as they should be. The wait staff, too, while polite, just didn't get the job done right... One further thing, the hotel encouraged us, when looking for a taxi, to take private cars at higher prices... after the first such trip, though, we caught on. Still, I'd go back to Dann Carlton when in Quito again. It's a nice hotel in a nice location...
This is the best hotel experience we had in Ecuador. It is in a very good location, the neighborouhood is very good and it is easy to reach the historic centre by taxi. Good and helpful staff too. Breakfasts were good and we also tried one of the restaurants once, which was pretty good too. Overall good value for money (given also that we snatched an offer when we booked).
Older facility but well kept. A classic, full-service hotel in business district. Rooms are nice, clean and large. Rooms have no air conditioning but that's common in Quito as the weather tends toward the cool. Noise from street is an issue at night with windows open. Breakfast buffet is excellent and included in room price. Service is very good. Two restaurants, tea room, sweet shop, bar, pool, fitness center, doctor on call, and a nearby pharmacy.
Great hotel at a convenient location. I always use them. Lately, they are not paying much attention to the service. Business lounge closed without notice, refrigerator not working, and nobody cares, except for the waiter at the business level, Agustin, that gentleman knows what is customer service and always do a great effort to keep the customers pleased.
Excellent place for a comfortable stay. As a tourist in Quito it was a very good basis. Rooms are spacious, staff is friendly and effective, choice of breakfast is rich, ... Laundry is priced too high.
