Older facility but well kept. A classic, full-service hotel in business district. Rooms are nice, clean and large. Rooms have no air conditioning but that's common in Quito as the weather tends toward the cool. Noise from street is an issue at night with windows open. Breakfast buffet is excellent and included in room price. Service is very good. Two restaurants, tea room, sweet shop, bar, pool, fitness center, doctor on call, and a nearby pharmacy.
Great hotel at a convenient location. I always use them. Lately, they are not paying much attention to the service. Business lounge closed without notice, refrigerator not working, and nobody cares, except for the waiter at the business level, Agustin, that gentleman knows what is customer service and always do a great effort to keep the customers pleased.
Excellent place for a comfortable stay. As a tourist in Quito it was a very good basis. Rooms are spacious, staff is friendly and effective, choice of breakfast is rich, ... Laundry is priced too high.
The hotel was very nice. It was big and comfy, and the staff was warm. The rooms were okay. I myself most enjoyed the breakfast. It was very big and tasty, there were a lot of choices. I recommend to stay here!
Gorgeous gorgeous Art Deco New York style and London beat hotel with tea room oh la la la near shopping dining malls stores restaurants coffee shop and centre of Quito , service is prime crew are friendly and helpful 🤗, I love this hotel and the room it offers with your own living room for more comfort and your walking closet oui oui , ladies yes you can bring all your suitcases 😊, book your trip to Ecuador and see why many Americans call this home 🏡, it's just gorgeous and most of all safer than many countries of course you got to be cautious anywhere you are happy travel .
We had room 521 which is right below the expertise spin class where at 6 am we could hear very clearly the instructor yelling. Ugh!!!!!!!!! It happened also at 6 pm when we were trying to rest before going out to dinner. Otherwise the hotel was very nice, and the restaurant had amazing food!
Great hotel from the amenities, to the food, to the staff, and location. Unfortunately, since our stay was quite short, we did not have the opportunity to experience all the hotel has to offer. When we return to Quito, this hotel will be at the top of my list of places to consider. Because we were part of a bridal group, I'm unsure what a normal booking rate would have been for this time of year, but the rate we were extended was very competitive. Our room was comfortable and appropriately decorated.
It has taken me too long to write this review, but now at last... I was part of a large group of people stranded by the big spring storms that caused hundreds of cancelled flights through Delta's Atlanta hub & beyond. Passengers were kindly sent by Delta-Ecuador to several nice hotels (rooms and meals paid by Delta-- THAT is Ecuadorian kindness/compassion... Delta USA would not have paid this if delays were due to weather-- only if it was the direct fault of the airline). I am SO grateful for that very hospitable decision by Delta-Ecuador! With a 6-day delay(!) and special circumstances on this trip, I can't convey how much stress that reduced overall! I am also SO grateful I was sent to Hotel Dann Carlton! The staff (everyone- from manager, front desk, lobby/concierge staff, attendants, wait staff, etc) were SO hospitable and accommodating, doing everything possible to help out and make sure we were comfortable and well cared for during the many days we awaited a rescheduled flight back to North Carolina. Due to the unexpected stay, coordinating with Delta trying to arrange new flight & other details, etc... there were more and different needs than a typical hotel stay, and we were in excellent caring hands for such a time! The main hotel areas were bright, clean, and lovely with huge displays of fresh flowers everywhere. The room was very comfortable, clean, plenty of services and amenities, and the restaurants (3 of them I'm aware of, plus a tea room and lounge bar) offered good variety if you didn't want to leave the hotel. But you easily and comfortably could leave as well... The area felt very safe, and everything we needed was fairly nearby. As a woman, I was able to walk all over the area to the nice, huge, beautiful park nearby, necessary shops & appointments, botanical gardens, restaurants, etc... with no issues or feelings of concern/discomfort at all. I encountered friendly genuine people often. My fellow little traveler-friend had some special needs and special care, appointments, paperwork, etc required due to his circumstances at the time and the stress of the journey/cancelled flights/etc. The manager and staff went above and beyond to look out for both of us and made valuable recommendations that helped us a great deal, including competent professional services and appointments as required for his needs. It was obvious to me that they definitely took special care and made special allowances, (out of genuine compassion to the circumstances we found ourselves stranded in), to help us out and make sure we were as comfortable and cared for as possible. I found myself saying heartfelt thank you's more often than I could possibly recount. There have been a great many trips in my life when I would have been HAPPILY delayed for an extra 6 days in a foreign country (with hotel & meals paid for nonetheless)! I would have considered it "extra/extended vacation" and made the absolute most of it!! Unfortunately, as fate would have it, the circumstances of this particular trip did not allow for much of that, and caused quite a bit of stress. BUT... having said that, I am SO grateful that if we did have to be stranded for 6 days, it was in Ecuador (ranked in one study I read as having been voted MOST Compassionate people in the World-- I believe it!), AND in a nice hotel with lovely accommodating staff as well! We could not have been in better hands! Muchisimas Gracias Ecuador y Hotel Dann Carlton!!! Que Dios le pague! ~Kenna (and Pancho) :)
Trip summary: It was a holiday trip and we stayed in a triple room. First impressions: The hotel was well presented at the lobby and there was a good selection of restaurants like Opera and the quaint pastry store at the front of the hotel. Room-wise it was really quite spacious. However the age of the hotel does show as certain things needs are in desperate need of maintenance especially in the rooms. Location: This hotel is located in the business district of Quito so it is predominantly a business hotel. The advantage of this is that it is quiet which is what we prefer after a long day of exploring. Conclusion: Lovely hotel with a nice selection of restaurants. It is quite a distance (driving) from the old town so if you prefer living where all the attractions are choose somewhere closer to the old town. If you prefer a more spacious quiet room this hotel is a good choice.
It is a excellent hotel clean, organize and staff is well trained, with a comfortable confidence. Room very comfortable and friendly attention Very good location, very safe area, close to everything. Perfect for business trips
