Very well equipped luxury hotel with very large tastefully decorated rooms. Spotlessly clean, room service food was delicious and reasonably priced. Good central location with lovely views of the city and mountains Front desk staff very friendly, helpful and professional.
We recently stayed here but sadly arrived late (flight delayed) and only for one night BUT WOW it was Mothers Day weekend and the lobby had the most wonderful ROSES everywhere. Our room was extremely spacious, comfortable, so very quiet and quite luxurious - had its own coffee making area!! All hotel facilities were explained in great detail to us - even a late dinner arrival was on offer!! The breakfast was totally amazing with everything and anything your heart desired -staff were extremely polite and helpful especially explaining some of the foods! Our morning pick up was delayed and the lobby staff were fabulous in contacting our transport to allay our concerns. Wish we stayed longer...
Completely comfortable and great service. Room was large with great views across the west across the city of Quito. The breakfast buffet and staff are very good, including coffee and various fresh tropical juices, eggs, breads, pancakes and french toast, cuts of numerous fresh tropical fruits. Great restaurants nearby like La Briciola, terrific Italian menu and service, a 3-minute walk. The inside coffee and pastry deli is quite good and reasonable, but the Hotel "Sports Bar" "Time Out" is very expensive. You can also walk to the Mariscal district in about five minutes with scores of restaurants. A downside to the west, city facing rooms is quite a bit of noise from 12 de Octubre street directly below, but it diminishes late in the evening until 6:30 or 7:00 a.m. Facing away from the city in the elevators above the fifth floor to the southeast you can easily see snow covered volcano Cotopaxi. This is not cheap but arriving at 11:00 pm you don't want to worry about facilities and comfort. This is a place you can step into and relax right away. One thing I noticed here and in a Cuenca hotel is the tendency to dim lighting. They arranged for a small suv taxi to the airport early and he was right on time and came inside to meet me at the front desk while checking out, no worries about being late. This is a great place.
Wonderful staff, restaurants, rooms just don't turn on the television if you don't speak Spanish. Easy walking distance to the Supermaxi, Chinese food and other restaurants if you don't like the 5 restaurants in the hotel.
Good service, nice facilities, room comfortalbe. Swissotel uses only plastic bottles for providing drinking water which I find very environmentally unfriendly. Why not have filtered water stations where guests can refill reusable containers? Comforters are too small for the beds so we could not get a good night's rest.
One of the older hotels in the city but very well kept and maintained. The buffet breakfast is fantastic. there are other restaurants in the compound, there is a Japanese Restaurant which serves some good sushi. Overall it is a good choice
We stayed here before and after our trip to the Galapagos. It is a large, modern business type hotel that also caters to tourists. It was exciting that the presidential inauguration occurred during our visit, and many foreign dignatories stayed at the hotel. That's a good indication of its quality. Our large room was on the 8th floor, and was very comfortable with a full bathroom and a half bath, as well as a seating area. Large windows offered a nice view of the city and mountains. The room does appear a little dated and the towels were a bit rough and not as plush as I'd expect. However, don't let that put you off as it's a superb hotel in a great location. The staff is first class and treated every guest with courtesy and willingly offered assistance - even when I looked lost, they immediately asked if they could help. I had room service and there's a little card that requests you call for used tray pick up. I've stayed at many 5 and 4 star hotels all over the world and you wouldn't believe the number of times I've seen trays left outside rooms for hours - even 24 hours! Within 20 minutes my tray was picked up. I popped out the room for a bit and it was gone by the time I returned. That's great service. The hotel was spotless. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet and staff was attentive to guest requests. There are several restaurants very close to the hotel, and a wonderful jewelry shop in the hotel arcade that should not be missed. It sells unique silver jewelry designed by an Ecuadorian jeweler (third generation). The Swissotel is a great hotel, you won't be disappointed if you choose to stay here.
This is an amazing hotel. Rooms were spacious and elegant, modern, and very clean, breakfast was the absolute best!!!! Staff was kind, courteous and very helpful! This is my "go to" hotel when I return to Quito
We stayed at the Swissotel for the last 2 nights of our whirlwind journey and the rooms were perfect for relaxing and unwinding. The hotel is large and modern. We didn't have time to use most of the great on site facilities but we were impressed with the food and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Good location, service and facilities. Room we had was huge. We were very well looked after, room service soup was delicious. Location was very convenient. Not quirky but overall good high class hotel.
