Excellent apartments. Well equiped kitchen. Beautiful bathrooms with heated floors. Loved the gas fire as we were there in winter. Great for families skiing as 20 mins to Coronet Peak and easy to get into town for dinner, shopping and sightseeing. Views, views, views....

We stayed at Commonage Villas for 6 nights on a family holiday. The villa was impeccable. Clean, modern, comfortable, easy to access and very close to town. It had an indoor and outdoor fireplace, ample space for all of us, really quiet and so beautiful. We will definitely be staying at Commonage again on our next trip to Queenstown.

My wife and our immediate family stayed at the commonage for a week in May 2017. We stayed in villa 7 and it was perfect. It's a high quality 3 bedroom apartment with ensuites in each room. The view is sensational and I definitely recommend to all.

We have stayed a few times before at the Commonage and always return because it is the best address in Queenstown. Views to die for, wonderful comfy living and sleeping areas with all amenities provided. Such a relaxing private place. Once the underfloor heating and gas fireplaces are going it is wonderfully cosy and snug...ideal.

After all the fuss of having to post a bond after the reservation had been made and the umpteen questions and formalities, we finally arrived to a beautifully lit but FREEZING villa. After looking for the villa manual, we were told to light up the gas fireplace for heat EXCEPT that the button to light up the fireplace was nowhere to be found. So I immediately called the office and thankfully there was someone who answered the phone. Apparently the button is way under the ledge of the fireplace, tucked away in some nook. If it is so hard to find and to operate, then there should be a diagram to show where the button is and how to operate the heating function of the fireplace. As the villa is multi-leveled, heat only emanating from a fireplace in the living room would not be sufficient to heat up the other floors. There is nothing in the manual about how to adjust or to get heat and there were NO thermostats or heating vents anywhere in the house. At my insistence, the lady over the telephone said that she could bring two oil heaters to the house and possibly help turn on the heat. However only the tiled areas would heat up as they only had under flooring heating and no forced air. When we arrived, the outside temperature had dropped to only a few degrees Celsius and yet the house was completely unheated. Meanwhile, I was instructed to go to the bathrooms and all the tiled areas to turn a white floor-level lever to the maximum. Everywhere I went the heat was turned down to the lowest level i.e. 1 or off. It is no wonder that the house was freezing. So much for their getting the villa ready for their guests! When the lady finally arrived, she showed me where to adjust for the heat. The control panel for our unit was in the garage and it would not be an intuitive place to look. She then left us with two heaters but we had four bedrooms. As the bedrooms are all carpeted, there is NO heat in the bedrooms. Apparently the solution is to leave the bathroom doors open so that the heat will seep out from the under flooring heating of the bathrooms. Talk about backwards and bad design. We finally got the house heated up during the middle of the night, some 5 hours after we had gone through all of the heating measures. For this reason, I would not recommend staying here if you are going in the winter. For the money that they charge, they should, at a minimum, get the house warm and welcoming for their guests. Finally they have an outlandishly early check-out time of 10 am and they are not one bit flexible about things. With all the problems we had, they even refused us a later check-out time. There is nothing customer friendly about these people.

the best villa with the amazing queenstown whole view, its located on the hill. I stayed with my friends, good facilities, comfort inside the villa, they provide a lift inside the villa.. I was sooo much enjoy to stay there. best recommendation to you all.

Fantastic views from every room. The accommodation was perfect for our family holiday (6 adults). The staysouth team were great to deal with, and the taxi vouchers and 3 pages of Queenstown information were most useful. We look forward to a return visit to Commonage Villas

The Villas were very nicely appointed. However, wishing there was outdoor furniture to enjoy the exquisite sunsets en pleine aire. Also, replenishing of breakfast items should be done automatically; we were disappointed to waste precious vacation time doing this every day. The cab coupons to town were a delightful surprise.

A fist rate house with every conceivable comfort, the best views of the of the lake and exceptional standards of cleanliness and comfort. When walking in through the front door, one immediately gets the sense that this is a special place. Super accommodation with great linens, a wonderful kitchen and dining space and drive-in parking and fully functioning laundry - what more do you need? Under-floor heating and gas-fire make the place lovely and toasty. Thank you.

These villas have spectacular views, are clean and well decorated, and are close to Queenstown. The managers--Staysouth--were polite, professional and responsive (getting someone out to fix the disposal when it clogged even though it was Boxing day, giving us an extra hour of checkout). It was nice to have a kitchen and to be able to do laundry as well as to be .4 miles to town. They even provided a few free taxi rides into and home from Queenstown. We also were delighted that there was a great hiking path just behind the Villas. Definitely recommend!
