My family and I (4 adults, 1 infant) stayed in a two bedroom / two bathroom apartment. Would highly recommend this property and would return again. Pros: - GREAT / reliable WiFi (relative to many hotels) - Two bedroom apartments (is basically two individual suites connected) with an expansive living room and direct views of the lake and the Remarkables. - We had a 1st level apartment which included a great walk out patio. We spent A LOT of time hanging out on the patio. Absolutely amazing. - Spacious and modern rooms, fully equipped kitchens. - Rooms serviced every day and they're generous with towels and amenities. - Less than 10 mins walk to downtown and 5 mins walk to the lakefront, but you're in an elevated location (e.g., not on the main street level) so you feel like you're totally secluded - Specifically for New Year, we had a great view of the fireworks - Super helpful staff, easy check-in and check-out Cons: - Parking is limited. The hotel lot was almost always full by the end of the day and street parking was non-existent (note: it was a holiday so more traffic and tourists than usual).
We stayed at the Highview Apartments for 4 nights, including over the Christmas and Boxing Day holidays. Although the office was closed for Christmas, we were quickly told that there would be staff on call if we should need anything. Marie, the woman who checked us in, was very friendly and let us know how to get around the city and where to grocery shop. The Lake view apartments are certainly worth it – we had an absolutely incredible view and enjoyed a number of tea times and breakfasts on our balcony. Bathroom and kitchen were both nice and updated and well stocked. It was great to have a kitchen available over the holidays when many stores were closed. Kitchen included dish soap, dishwashing liquid and laundry detergent. Like all combo washer/dryer machines, the dryer was slow, but we appreciated having a washer in-unit. Due to the amount of time we were there, our room was not serviced, but we had enough towels, etc. that we did not miss it. Our king bed was two combined twins, which isn't our favorite, but was still quite comfortable. The gym was small but clean and had nice, well-maintained equipment. The walk into Queenstown is quick and downhill (although the walk back is a little steep) but we felt that it was close enough to walk a few times a day. The view was worth it!
We spent a very enjoyable week-long stay in a 1-bedroom apartment. The unit was clean, comfortable and contained everything we needed. The location is within close walking distance to town and the view over the lake was spectacular. We’d love to return!
My husband and I stayed here for two nights over Christmas, it was perfect! Upon arrival Maria greeted us and even though it was after office hours she took the time to give us a map and point out her favorite spots! She was wonderful and gave amazing recommendations and tips on Queenstown! The room was gorgeous! I have never seen a view like it! We had a one bedroom lake view and it was a gorgeous full view of the beautiful lake from every part of the apartment. Laying in bed you could look out and see all the beauty Queenstown has to offer. The room was clean and had a modern design. It was a quick walk into town along the lake, about ten minutes but well worth it to get the view we had from our room. Full kitchen with everything you need provided. It was a wonderful stay, we did not want to leave! I would recommend to everyone I know!
This place made our stay in Queenstown a wonderful one. Views are amazing if you’re facing the lake. We had a 1 bed room apartment. It was spacious, beautifully decorated, with a well appointed kitchen including dishwasher and washer/dryer. The bathroom was huge (separate bath and shower) with convenient storage shelf below the sink. Loved waking up and going to bed with the stunning views. I liked that it was in a quiet part of town as that’s my preference yet still a 10 minute walk to the gondola and 10-15 min walk to the town. The hills are manageable- not steeper than ones you’d find in San Francisco or Seattle. (If you can’t handle these hills, then not sure why you’re holidaying in an active place like Queenstown.). We always found a spot to park our rental car - managed to park in a covered spot every day. The staff was very friendly with many good tips about local restaurants. It was also easy to access the main roads from here for day trips and scenic drives. I can’t imagine a more perfect place for our Queenstown holiday.
Highly recommend the view and way the one bedroom apartment is configured is comfortable. Highly responsive staff lead by owner who lives on-site. You have all the supplies needed for a long stay. Easy access to the town
Very spacious appartment with all facilities needed incl. laundry. Wonderful view on the lake and the mountains. Shoet walking distance to the city centre. Very quiet. Friendly and professional reception. Would take it again, also for longer stays. Reasonable pricing.
Although this hotel is walking distance from town it is up a very steep hill. The Intercity bus driver did his best to drop people close to their hotel but it was clear ours was too difficult. Hauling the bags up the hill, even on wheels, was not fun. The best way uphill is via Brunswick Street. The room (a studio) was very nice with a large bathroom. The bed sheets were fantastic – first time I have ever though this of a hotel bed. There is no air conditioning. It seemed hot enough in the room in late November that we were glad we weren’t staying there in summer. Studios are only serviced every second day (if they remember which they didn’t on our second day). This means toiletries are not provided daily so one little cake of soap has to last both of you for 2 days. The guest laundry is better than lugging your dirty clothes down to town and back up. $4 per wash or dry. Powder included. Change is available at reception and they were even kind of enough to move our washing to the dryer if we weren’t back in time. The fitness centre is very small with a great treadmill, a rowing machine, a stationary bike (computer on it not working) and a multi-function weights machine. There is no cooling in there and the sun beats in early in the morning (when the area seemed to be most busy). Sweat towels are provided but not replaced regularly. The best parts: friendly staff, great treadmill, great weight machine, great bed sheets, nicely appointed room, pleasant room even with “no view”. The main issues with our stay were: regular drops outs on the wifi, no cooling in the room or the fitness centre, poor quality toilet paper, tissues not replaced and floor not vacuumed when the room was serviced, the rubbish bin is too small for 2 days’ worth of rubbish and the shower temperature was very hard to regulate going from freezing to scalding in moments for no obvious reason.
This review is on behalf of Jackie and Sally who stayed just last week... This place was extremely clean, comfortable, and had very friendly service. The views were to die for and the special service provided by the duty manager (Marie Strilkova) was outstanding, from the advice given to the ability to check out late, we were very impressed with her service. Would definitely recommend this place!!!
Fabulous apartment - views spectacular across the lake - walking distance into town - very helpful staff (thank you Julie!!!), great kitchen/cooking facilities, massive floor to ceiling windows with a sliding door that opens up almost across all of the balcony - well sound proofed - could even borrow DVD's from reception to watch! Everything thought of and well planned. I searched for a long time when I was choosing somewhere and this place did not disappoint at all.
