I was told I had a non smoking suite..the hotel has intermingled smoking and non smoking rooms. The hotel was tired...carpeting dirty. My toilet had a constantly running water flow. We could smell smoke and then noticed ashtrays in the room. I complained at the desk and they blamed the comfort suites booking system...suggested we should have called directly. Breakfast was marginal. Probably the worst Quality inn suites I have ever stayed in.
On asking from front desk staff Vallery, why I get bad rooms with bed in closet and big conference table room in room, Front desk staff first explained that you booked this particular room. I informed that I didn't booked this kind of room, she said you might not have looked into fine print. On double checking my booking detail, I went to her again and explained the my room booking does not have any thing in fine print about the bed in closet and conference room table in room, then she said, because you booked the room via internet, that is why you got bad room. It is better, you book next time by calling direct to hotel to get good rooms.
Curtained French doors leading into bedroom with King bed, dressing room area with closet, mirrored vanity & bench, Jack & Jill bathroom, living room with lumpy but okay sofa bed, dining room table with 4 chairs, kitchen area with cupboard, sink, fridge/ micro. Free parking, WiFi, pool, elevator, hot breakfast. We were surprised at the small breakfast room considering the size of this hotel. Breakfast 6:30-9:30am boring but adequate...un browned sausage & egg patties. They did have waffles & bacon plus the usual cereals & pastries. We would stay here again. It was also a good location for our planned activities.
This hotel is a little away from Downtown Quebec City but very close ( 5 minutes walk) to a large shopping mall Les Galeries de la Capitale that had a huge food court with several reputed eateries! Bilingual staff is very courteous and polite. Ms Shirley in particular was very helpful. The rooms are adequately clean and well kept. There is ample parking space. We did not have a microwave in our room but were allowed to use the one in the breakfast room. As a Choice Privileges member, I could get a newspaper everyday but they had only French newspapers! We will surely recommend this to other travellers!
I’ve read a lot of bad reviews, but our experience was mostly positive. I went expecting the worst, but was pleasantly surprised. Yes, the hotel is a bit dated, but the room was clean, and the bathrooms are clean. The bed was also comfortable, with clean linens and the staff were friendly and courteous. Breakfast was the basic fare, and good. We stayed on the 3rd floor, in a non-smoking room, so I cannot comment on the rooms that are smoking. Walking distance from the mall and RONA, and very close to a variety of stores. I would recommend the suite over the standard room – although I would not count on using the pull-out sofa (as with most hotels, the mattress is not good). The standard room is very small, with little room to move if there are more than 2 people, and there is no closet (but there is a small area to hang your clothes), fridge or microwave (only coffee maker). But the suites have a fridge, microwave and coffee maker, and 2 closets, 2 TV’s and a dining table. We had an issue with noisy neighbours the 1st night, but the staff promptly addressed the issue. Rooms with adjoining doors can be loud, if the occupants next door are noisy. We would not have a problem staying there again.
This hotel is in desperate need for some serious renovation. The floors are very dirty and the room look so cheap. One of my worst place I stayed. I had stayed there before, but it's been downhill since then.
This hotel was a huge disappointment. Many rooms had been let to contractors working in the area, and many of them were heavy smokers, so many of our group's rooms had a heavy tobacco smell. The carpets needed to be shampooed, the bedding was very worn, and the decor was unattractive. Some rooms were accessible only by using a short set of stairs, which did not work for those who had mobility issues. I cannot recommend this hotel to people on vacation to see the lovely sites of Quebec City. The one positive note was that it was within walking distance to a gigantic shopping mall with many restaurants and a food court. It has a skating rink, so it was fun to watch small children practicing their hockey skills.
We stayed here in a suite the end of July 2016, We walked into the room exhausted and were met with the stink and dirty carpet.......the cleaners kept the room clean but the state of the carpets, furniture and bedding were in a horrible state. The in the night there were tour busses running all night and guests were very loud outside. Please avoid this place for it was not worth the stay.
For just over 100 dollars I got a unit with a dining area with a full sized dining room table & a living room area with a sofa & coffee table-with a TV in the living room area and in the bedroom area also. There was also a dressing area to the side of the bedroom. Very nice. Very clean and very refreshing as a place to spend night or two in. There was a very good restaurant within walking distance and a large mall-and another street with many other stores behind the large mall. In short there was everything anyone could need within walking distance. The only drawback when I was there was the weather-bitter cold with blizzard conditions. Its good to have been off the road in such weather. The Hotel also had a handy laundry room and a computer for guests-which I appreciated having access to. Two thumbs up.
I travel quite often and I unfortunately have to say this one beats all other hotels I've been to in terms of glitches. We were 3 colleagues on business, so 3 rooms. Fairly easy check in. When one of my colleagues unlocked his room door, there was already somebody in that room. We had a laugh, but it was not really funny. My 2nd colleague had a huge fan/blower running in the room, so he also had to change room. 2 rooms out of 3 had a problem. Major fail. Me and another colleague stayed for another night. We got to the hotel very late and when we got to our rooms, both key cards didn't work. 2nd major fail. This is an outdated hotel. It's not very nice and it's old. However the room was huge and in all honesty the rate was fair. breakfast was acceptable So all in all, it's not a terrible hotel, but these glitches, and 2 nights in a row would make me think twice before going again.
