Would go five star but was given a HUGE attitude by the manager when asking for an upgrade. I stay at a ton of hotels and am Spire elite member highest level of the IHG club membership) and after looking at his screen - honored my request. Rooms was clean and everything was perfect. room was quiet and location was great. Too bad the manager threw the attitude.
A relatively new hotel that is a real steal for the price. All the rooms are huge suites that have a fully stocked kitchen, "living room" area, separate bedroom and bath. Impeccably clean, which is always important to us. Staff was welcoming and sincerely willing to help in any way possible. Ask for the AAA, or senior rate and save even more.
Our stay at Staybridge Suites was excellent. Check-in was fast and we learned that we had been upgraded. What a pleasant surprise. Our room was very clean and comfortable and we got a great night of sleep. Breakfast was also outstanding, very tasty and delicious. Overall, an outstanding stay and we will certainly stay there again fin the area.
Good courteous staff, Myrna (One of their staff members is awesome). She takes care of the guests very well and makes sure the breakfast is hot and tasty. Very good nature and very warmly person. Good Job Myrna!!
We just became Staybridge Suites fans after staying in a pet-friendly Executive Studio Suite with fully equipped kitchen, windows that opened, and a superb staff. We are traveling from Maine to California with our two cats, and this was our first Staybridge stay--now we are looking for them. Staff first: I called the front desk to ask how to turn on the gas fireplace in our luxurious ground floor room. She didn’t know, but called her manager, checked the fuse box just in case, then relayed the manager’s instructions to us. Thank you, Amanda! What a fully equipped kitchen looks like: a full sink, full-sized refrigerator, microwave, electric stove-top range, and most importantly, the little things: a dish brush, dish towel, dish cloth, dish detergent, paper towels (extras under the sink)…coffee, filters if we chose not to use coffee provided, salt & pepper in the cabinet, popcorn…a better set up than some time-shares provide. And were we grateful after a long days’ drive in the rain. Windows that open: we like fresh air, even 4” of it—the allowable limit to prevent falls. Our traveling cats love it too—they particularly like to sit in the window and look out, sniff the air. The pet fee was a reasonable $12.50. I booked the room via the IHG website—I am a loyal IHG Rewards member—for a total of $137.78 including taxes and pet fee. Final word: in the elevator I met a gentleman who said he commuted the 15-20 minutes to Moline from this Davenport Staybridge because it was just plain better than anything else in the area.
I booked this room because I had a fabulous stay at a Staybridge in the Chicago Area. I'm a frequent visitor to the Quad Cities and will not stay at this Staybridge again. The hotel is located in a convenient location with plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby. This is where the review gets negative. I called the hotel to ask for an early check in, the Manager Rick acted very put out by my request. Needless to say we didn't bother with coming to the hotel until well after check in time. Rick then continued this unpleasant behavior upon check in. He answered the phone while in the middle of taking my address, then displayed disdain when I didn't jump to attention when he had finished his call. If you are rude enough to interrupt me mid sentence when taking my information, you should have the expectation that I am going to stay alert while you take a phone call. I asked Rick to have housekeeping check my room for feather pillows/comforters because I am highly allergic, he told me he doubted there were feather products and left it to us to try and check. At this point, 4:30am I am awake, have had no sleep. Something in the room for s giving me allergy symptoms...feathers? Maybe, I'll never know. Rick bragged about our room being recently remodeled. We were happy to hear it, but it would have been nice to have baseboards in the room, and the door hung properly. There was a large gap at the bottom of the door and it hung so loose that when others shut their door, ours rattled. At 9 pm the fun started with the elephant march above us. A herd of stampeding elephants would have been quieter. When this died down it was time for the banging doors that continued throughout the night. Just as you finally got back to sleep a door would slam. This continued to 3 am, I believe if our door had been hung correctly this may not have been an issue. The temp control worked poorly in the room. Since we were up, we noticed it was either uncomfortably cold or hot, we never achieved that happpy medium. We left the temp set at 71, but the unit would turn off and on every 3 to 4 minutes. This property has the potential to be very nice, but it needs some work. The positives of the stay are that although the room was unfinished, it had a comfortable couch and bed. The little kitchen area was great for the extras like plates, glasses and utensils when we brought out dinner in. The room was set up nicely. Just a note I added pictures the door gap pics are poor quality but you can definitely see the light coming through from the hallway.
This was our first visit to a Staybridge Suites, but it won't be our last! We only needed a room for 1 night, but this would be ideal for any extended stay. Kitchen had full refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and plenty of plates, glassware and utensils. Very clean. They upgraded us to a 2 bedroom (which we didn't need), but it would be great for a family as there were also 2 bathrooms!! We weren't traveling with our pet, but signs indicated that we could have brought him. Nice breakfast included. Very very impressed with this chain, and we will look for more locations in the future, and definately keep it in mind for our larger family vacations.
We just wanted a 1-night stay to break up a long drive home. Davenport happened to be right at the midpoint of our trip and Staybridge was the place we chose. We opted for the 2 bedroom suite (room 203) because the wife and I were travelling with our two hyperactive teenage girls and they needed a room all their own. I was totally pleased with the accommodations. Each bedroom was nearly as spacious as a regular hotel room. Each had its own bathroom and each had a TV. There is also a main room with its own TV, couches and full kitchen. The wifi had a strong signal where I could watch Netflix and do all my surfing. There were two minor things that I didn't care about. First the distance to the elevator was quite long. The corridors are a bit like a maze, but once I got my bearings, things were okay. Second, each bathroom's sink area was not separated from the bedroom area. I tried to catch some z's but was awaken by my wife using the sink. Not a big deal. The breakfast was very minimal and provide a small selection of items (cut up fruit, fried eggs, sausage, etc). It didn't nearly provide the variety that Holiday Inn Expresses provide, but the food was adequate. At 5:30 pm, they provided a free happy hour with snacks (taquitos, salad, etc) and free self-serve drinks (soft drinks, beer, wine). Didn't expect that, so it was a nice surprise. The staff was wonderful. They were all very pleasant and helpful and went out of their way to say "hi". The hotel as a whole was clean and quiet. I stayed midweek, so the crowd level was low. There was plenty of free parking and lots of restaurants in the area to choose from. I would definitely stay there again if in Davenport.
Our home sold very fast and we found it necessary to move before our new home was ready. We lived at the Staybridge Suites for just under 3 months and didn't want to move when it was time. Our room was perfect for a long stay and the entire staff was fantastic. It was like living with family and they did everything to make us feel welcome. With in the first few days they all knew our names and always had time for us. We do feel we made long time friends with the staff; Myrna, CJ, Sara, Terry, Rick, Chad, Alberto, Candy, Rebecca, Aaron, Don and Cassandra. We have since moved into our new home but continue to visit the hotel to see everyone and each time we are welcomed with hugs. We highly recommend this hotel if you're looking for value, friendly service, a great morning breakfast and wonderful manager specials on Mon., Tues., and Wed evenings. We can't say enough nice things about this facility.
My boyfriend and I stayed here as a late night stop over on our cross-country adventure. This hotel is super close to I-80. The staff was super friendly and all key amenities (wifi, parking, breakfast) were included for an affordable price. This hotel is located in a university town so there are restaurants open late and it's a safe environment. Would definitely recommend.
