We stayed in a monarch villa with a butler for 6 days. We did not really see the butler - only a few times when we were out and about. We loved Sanctuary Town and spent a lot of time over there. Wish that there were more night activities available. Drinks were great, but stay away from the mamajuana. I wish that they had a list of available drinks at the bar. Overall, it was a very relaxing vacation and the hotel was well-maintained.

the resort architecture beautiful...unfortunately....did not have a great experience and wound up checking out a day before, thus losing my money for that night. I arrived and the phone was not working. someone came and brought a new equipment into room..but it was some other room's line and I wound up running from bedroom to bathroom every time each one kept ringing. Second I took a shower and the water overflooded..I wound up having to scoop a lot of water while showering because it wouldn't go down the drain...not to mention the toilet....it got clogged and could not flush.....overall...not happy at all. There was definitely not a selection or variety of food...I've been to other resorts in Punta Cana with way more food selections. I asked to be moved to another room with better ocean view which I specifically asked for and was given a worst one....bad experience all in all....instead of getting a good deal...I lost money!

I can't put into words how amazing this trip was for my boyfriend and I. The staff here goes way above and beyond to make sure that you don't have to worry about a single thing during your stay. I truly mean above AND beyond. Everything was great here from the rooms, to the food, beach, pools etc. Again, I can't say enough good things! And thank you to Eric, Alfredo, Nicole, Wilkin, Alex and many others that are a part of the amazing Sanctuary staff!!! We can't wait to go back!

Nice pools, staff very attentive, entertainment every night

Great trip. Staff was helpful and very friendly. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Few issues with hot water and no hair dryer provided. Resort is beautiful, food is excellent.

We were looking for a quiet, warm break from work, family and holidays. We settled on Punta Cana after finding the Sanctuary on the Orbitz package website. We chose a swim out, castle room which was fun-but upgraded the second week to the royalty villa. The concierge was so helpful.

The resort was great. It was beautiful, peaceful. We had a great time. The staff was great. The beaches were beautiful. The only problem we had was the room service was very slow.

The hotel location is perfect. The staff and service is fantastic. The food is above average for an all inclusive but not a lot of restaurant options. Very little in nightly entertainment but if you want a relaxing vacation this is the place. Staff can't do enough for you.

The property and staff were excellent. Great variety of food choices and a really fun atmosphere. The staff really made a great all inclusive one of the most memorable vacation spots we've ever been. Whole fried fish for lunch is not to be missed!

Fisrt off didnt have hot water for the first three days of our stay. Many of the atleast on or two per day restaurants were closed due to private parties. The entertainment staff is exceptional as well as maids grounds and servers front desk (castle) staff needs to be replaced. They are trying with the water/sea weed issue but, book a place close to Macau beach or in north bavaro.

We loved everything about this resort! The staff, the grounds, the food, the drinks, the fellow vacationers... Everything!! The staff worked so hard to make it perfect! We've read reviews where people complained about the seaweed but that is Mother Nature and nothing to do with this fabulous resort. They had staff working nonstop to keep to beach seaweed free! Love this place and will definitely be back!

Hotel didn't meet our expectations. Nice resort but there's lot of problems. I got food poison on first night there after dining in Italian restaurant. I think that some of the staff are very fresh in conversations, especially towards a women. I paid for Internet but didn't work most of the time and didn't get much help from hotel. They are playing same music at the pools every day (one cd from Luis Guerra). No food after 5pm (except room service, but u r not in the room). Only one bar served drinks between 5-7pm in entire resort and it is in castle, far end of the resort. As soon as you arrive they try to show you (room upgrade) suites which cost three times more than room you reserved and make you feel bad like your room is not good. In contrary our room was nice, big with separate living room and balcony facing the ocean. Breakfast and lunch buffet is very small with very limited choices and quality is of the food is bellow standard and what you pay. Beach is very bad because of seaweed and even through out resort you can smell it, so we have to stay at the pool area all the time. Pools are very nice and there's a lot of them. I'll not return to this resort and I don't recommend.

This way a well needed vacation for us, and as we arrived to the airport. Our experience was extremely pleasant. The hospitality on this island is off the charts. Everyone played a major role in giving us one of the best experiences you've ever had. From the resort staff, the beaches, and the excursions we experienced. Overall a TEN.

The grounds are lovely & well manicured. We enjoyed the all inclusive option and had no worries. Food was very good. I enjoyed many of the activities and shows very much! The Dominican Night (friday) was amazing with real traditional dishes that made my husband remember his grandma's cooking. The Dominican Dance show after was spectacular. the Wear White Party on the Beach Saturday night was a blast! The spa was so-so.The staff really put the icing on the cake - everyone was enthusiastic and friendly! From Dulce & Micaela at the Love Bar to Woody & Menor & Mr. Blue as activities directiors, to our favorite waiter extroardinaire, Eliot to our Taxi Driver Josue (ask Eliot) - we miss them all and enjoyed the week we spent with them. Cell service is spotty at best all across DR, so next time we will probably buy a pre-paid phone when arriving for better connectivity. We will be back.

Hotel grounds are nice. They did upgrade room for free when we complained about the view of the parking lot. Beach is tiny, with seaweed and isn't blue. Dinner options tasted good but buffets were ehhhh. Staff was nice and helpful. Overall a nice place but not so great that I would return.

Hotel was beautiful and beyond my expection. I was worried about the food since usually the food at all inclusive places are just average. But the restaurants at Santuary were amazing especially the seafood place. Everything about the place was truly a luxery experience. I definitly want to go back!!

Great resort! Superior service! Seaweed was rough this time of year, but we will return. Thanks Sanctuary staff!

Hotel was misleading Food and selection was very poor No A/C in rooms Not much hot water They wow you with the glamour to offset the poor amenities and not having much to do

The hotel was great! It's such a beautiful place and beautiful people and the atmosphere was beautiful as well. The hotel staff are very caring and will do anything possible to help you. The food was amazing too! They have great chefs and all mostly healthy food if you ask them to make it in front of you. Everyday I ate fruits and they were amazingly fresh, especially the passion fruit. Everyone here has a sweet personality and love to joke with you and somehow always put a smile on your face. My issue is not with the hotel. I know that with our climate change, our oceans are changing. The whole area of Punta Cana has stinging seaweed problems. This is due to our warmer waters and cyanobacteria growing excessively in still waters and especially on seaweed. The seaweed isn't the problem, it's the bacteria that is growing on the seaweed. Please be careful when swimming on the beach or doing excursions that happen to be on the beach side of Punta Cana. I did an excursion that happened to be snorkeling in these waters. I jumped in and seaweed was everywhere. I didn't think twice about it because I've been to the beach countless of times and never got hurt by seaweed. When I got out of the water, I felt stinging sensation all over my body and I wasn't the only one. This will happen to people with sensitive skin or soft skin. This didn't affect my boyfriend but, it affected me and many others. As a result, I had a bad allergic reaction and I was red all over and had burning and itching sensations all throughout my body. I was so uncomfortable that I was looking for anything to put on my rashes. So please beware of the excursions you take and please ask questions because they know more about the area than you do especially about the seaweed problem they've been having for almost a year. Once again, this isn't the issue with the hotel. It's the side excursions that should notify the guests about! Don't trust them fully. Also, with the issue of the rashes, I woke up at 3AM because I couldn't sleep due to scratching myself uncontrollably and felt helpless that it would not go away, I went to the hotel clinic. The doctor that took care of me isn't from the hotel and is from the outside. I did not trust him either since he billed me $208 dollars for a 10 minute checkup and requested to send me on the outskirts of DR to a hospital at 3AM. I did not find him professional at all requesting for money every second and asking to get paid already. So, beware of that! It is day 5 after the seaweed allergy and it is getting better since I'm back in the States and went to a real doctor that prescribe me meds. Luckily, in DR, my boyfriend went with a hotel staff to the nearest pharmacy to get me some calamine lotion that helped my uncontrollable itching. As I said, the hotel staff will do anything to help you out. They are very friendly and sweet. They care about you and make sure you are comfortable. This place was beautiful and luckily, they had such a beautiful pool to replace the beach. I lost three days due to rest in bed from the allergy and sensitivity to sun and pain. I hope this helps! This is definitely a beautiful place. Call the hotel and ask about seaweed problems before you book. Enjoy!

The staff and service was amazing. Our room was very nice and clean and had a private pool. The food always tasted really good. My husband wanted a Mamey shake in the morning at breakfast however they did not have that fruit in the hotel. The next morning when we came down for breakfast they had gotten the fruit and made the shake for him. This was a very nice surprise. I even had a shake and it tasted delicious. Talk about outstanding service and wanting to please your guests!

Hey Aaron and Jen, it was so exciting to learn that you and your had a great time! We hope that you’ll give us another chance to truly make your next vacay an unforgettable experience.. Regards!
