I like how clean the facility was and the staff were super nice and helpful. One thing i wish was alittle better was the food choices. The beach was clean and beautiful.
The property and rooms were beautiful, the staff were PHENOMENAL (so kind, helpful and hard working!), and the beach was perfect. So many good things to say, but everything was overshadowed by the oh-so-terrible food. I mean record-breaking-level terrible. Please Catalonia, work with a culinary director to overhaul your concept, portions, quality - particularly of the "Peruvian", "Asian" and dare I say "Italian' restaurant. Costco-pizza seems tastier and fresher. Imagine. I have never been hungry at an all-inclusive before. Hungry. At an all-inclusive. Whatever great effort was put into training staff needs to be placed into overhauling the menus.
The staff as far as housekeeping and front desk were very nice and attentive. The downside for staff was their inconsistent enforcement of covid policies. One day I'm told to have a shirt on to get a slice of pizza by the beach but there's already 3 shirtless people sitting there eating. Rules are fine and I have no problem following them but I need to know what they are and they need to be consistently enforced. Some pass by with no masks while others next to them are stopped and told to put masks on.
Overall everything was great
My stay at this resort was amazing. The staff was super attentive and respectful. I stayed at the adult side of the hotel and it was exactly what I wanted and expected. The resort is clean and beautiful. If your a beach person like me, this beach is for you! It’s clean, clear and calm. Whenever I visit la Romana again I will only be staying at this resort, based on what I saw on the beach strip, this was the best resort.
Very large anb beautiful property with lots of things to do, i had a blast.
Service and staff was great! Pools were nice. The beach is a very short paved walk from the hotel, and the beach is amazing. The food was just okay. Drinks were good. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a great time at Catalonia Royal! We went there for our honeymoon and we really loved our experience. The hotel is beautiful and the staff was very nice and helpful! The only thing that was concerning was that the hotel had an infestation of ants while we were there and we were constantly being bitten by them. The ants were all over the beach and even by the pool. But other than that we enjoyed everything about our stay! I would recommend this place to all my friends!
Food is sucked! Amazing beach, nice rooms. Smallest gym and worse food. Food is barely stay between 2 and 3 stars.
