Close to the beach. First stop for the bus routes. Friendly locals and staff. Parking lot is also close to the hotel: a two minute walk.

This is our third visit to Villa Varadero and we enjoyed it very much! The food is great with choices of meat, rice, potatoes and veggies served buffet style at every meal. There is also a grill and a breakfast chef to cook omelets and pancakes, etc. A special five course meal complete with wine is also available for visitors to sign up for. It is served on the beach in the evening at tables decked out with colorful table cloths and candles. The staff is very friendly, courteous and professional. Our rooms were cleaned daily, with fresh sheets and towels. The bar was well stocked and the bar tenders were great with mixing drinks to one's preference. The desk clerk staff was very knowledgeable about activities, restaurants, etc. in the area and prices, and will summon a cab for visitors. The activities director is adept at getting volleyball games and other activities under way for the younger adults and children. There is even a small market place kiosk on site with various items for sale. The Villa features several swimming pools, including one kiddie pool and one that has built in lounges for relaxing in the water. The beach is spacious and one is able to walk to the near by concrete pier that leads to the marina, or one can walk all the way to Puerto Vallarta via the beach front. There is a nearby bus stop that can be used to ride into Puerto Vallarta or to other destinations. It's a wonderful Villa to enjoy!

Our experience at Villa Varadero was a very pleasing experience. If you are looking for a catered to experience, this is not it. You do have to go to the bar, snack bar, restaurant. But the staff is very friendly and treat you very well. The hotel is nice, clean and our room was pretty nice. The bathroom sink/vanity area was the only thing that lacked in lighting and space. And no place to really unpack your clothes, there is a wardrobe and cabinet but no real dresser, but we were able to make due. The choices at the buffet and snack bar were pretty limited, but there were several really nice fairly reasonable restaurants in the vicinity. For what they charged for the all inclusive package it was great. Another REALLY nice thing was their beach area, HUGE and vendor free for the most part. So you could relax on the beach without being pestered by vendors continuously. LOVED it.

Due to the construction it is loud all day from early morning until evening. Cannot access the pool or ocean without taking a detour. The staff is ok, the room is ok.

wonderful beach and beach bar. Lots of daily activities. Great location.

The breakfast and free water made it affordable. Older hotel rooms small and dated.

I really enjoy this hotel. The staff is lovely. The breakfast was perfect! I don't like the beds. They are too hard. and the new tiny refridgerator that replaced the old ones are too small to put even a to go box into.

a few amazing days for us to stay there, first time of my little baby at the beach!!!

I have stayed at this quaint, small Mexican hotel just North of Puerto Vallarta twice and love it. It is small, has a great beach with plenty of palapas, and lots of room to walk. It is next to the marina, which is lovely and interesting and provides an area for more walking. There is a plaza nearby, an OXXO, Fenix Massage and several restaurants, as well as condos and apts. There is a bus stop to town less than a block away where one can ride to Wal-Mart, hop on an El Centro bus and be in downtown PV...for under $2. Villa has a nice pool area, provides towels for pool/beach use and free bottled water in the rooms. Both times I have been, I paid for the least expensive room and was upgraded upon my arrival. The rooms are spotless, and with a partial and/or oceanview, the windows open to enjoy the sea breeze. There is a tiny refrig in all rooms and a microwave in some. I took the AI option because it is very inexpensive and I could still eat out if I wanted. Most of the food is typical Mexican fare, which I love. Beans, tortillas, yogurt, peppers/onions, oatmeal, hot chocolate, tea, coffee, fresh fruit and a pancake/omelet station in the morning. All very good. I did not eat lunch, but just had a hamburger , taco or salad, etc. from the beach grill. Dinner was usually chicken and/ or pork with different sauces, salads and a dessert offering. If you stay for 3 nights, then you will have a "special dinner" (4 course dinner) cooked in the kitchen instead of buffet. Depending on the number of people at the hotel the special dinner is set up with tablecloths, wine, etc. in the daytime grill area or on the beach just around sunset. Good food and gorgeous sunset! The bartenders were not stingy with the alcohol...once they determined what you liked..."con mucho tequila, por favor," and were adept at making most any drink you might want. I do not care for the dining room because it is not Colonial Mexican décor...it is newer and has plastic chairs/tables and reminds me of a cafeteria. I usually ate my breakfast and/or dinner at an outside table. In fact after I did it twice, the waiters opened the door for me, brought me my drinks and checked on me often while I dined outside. Excellent service. The entire staff is kind, polite, friendly and caring at Villa Varadero...in fact the staff may be their strongest point. HOWEVER, please don't go to Villa expecting a Marriott, a RIU, a Mayan or any other huge, "Disneyland" hotel. It is not that, nor would I trade it for one of those. Though they do have kayaks and bicycles for use, TV's in the rooms, and gameboards for the lobby area, the major attraction is the beach. If you need to constantly be entertained by an outside source, or constantly be in the company of Americans/Canadians then this is most likely not the hotel for you. If you delight in finding a small, quaint, well-located , Mexican oriented hotel on a beautiful beach for a wonderful price. This is it. I will return.

This hotel is perfect for those looking for a true mexican experience, away from all the American tourists and the big all-inclusive hotels. We had breakfast included with our package, it was incredible! A buffet with made-to-order omelets, pancakes, sweet bread, juices, beans, potatoes and much more. The beach is clean, safe and quiet. The hotel has boogie boards that the kids loved, they played in the ocean for hours! They provide beach towels, and there are always chairs available on the beach. Nuevo Vallarta is a small town, safe to walk around and with some nice places to visit. You can easily take a taxi to Puerto Vallarta, where you'll find vendors, markets and many more people. There are taxis across the street from the hotel, they are safe and charge fair prices. They'll take you anywhere you want to go and also give you very good recommendations. Our favorite places were the ones the locals recommended. For fish and seafood we suggest "El Titis" ($6.00 taxi ride, 10 minutes from the hotel). One block from the hotel is "Tacos el muelle", on the marina, a great taco place. The staff at the hotel went out of their way to make our vacation wonderful, they were exceptional.

The location can't get better - right off of the beach. There is only one restaurant, not a whole lot of selection, however, when you stay more than 3 nights, you get a special dinner on the beach, which was great. For what you pay, it is a great deal, however, the food could be better.

The only complaint I have is the food. Mind you I didn't starve but the food, if your not Mexican, was a small choice. Beans at every meal is not my idea of breakfast. Some night there wasn't anything that was appealing to me. Other than the food the location was great, rooms very clean, and staff wonderful.

The location is perfect - wonderful beach. However the food is not at all good. Not enough selection. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

This hotel is located right on the beach in Puerto Vallarta. The beach was clean and tidy. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

Good Value! Right on the beach with good sunset views. Close to restaurants. Staff very helpful. Included breakfast was very good. Palapas on the beach for enjoyment!

The rooms are a bit outdated and the amenities are bad. Upon checkout they were calling the rooms to ensure all towels are accounted for.

The room was very basic. We did not have hot water until the next day. The micorwave in the kitchen could not be used due to the fact that it required a three prong outlet. The pool and pool area was very small to the point that in one section of the pool area, there were no lawn chairs and we were forced to sit on top of a brick wall. The water inside the pool seemed as if it had not been cleaned in days.

This is a very small little hotel in Nuevo Vallarta and for the price I was not disappointed. I chose to take the all-inclusive option which I prefer, however, I felt some of the dinners lacked a variety of selections. My room was very clean and loved that I could open the windows. The staff was very friendly and really made me feel at home. Thank you [...] for always remembering my name. The beach access can't be beat, and the pools were adequate. I liked that there was a seperate kiddie pool. I would only suggest to add more evening activities to their services. Overall, I came to PV to rest & relax and just enjoy being in Mexico and I feel the Villa Varadero satisfied that need.

I spent a couple days here until my wife came on a later flight for a our stay at another resort down the street. This is a lesser expensive all inclusive. It appears a bit dated, one of the older ones in the area. This may have given it the advantqge of being in the great location that it is. The menu is basic, not fancy but tasty enough. There are a couple outside resturants close. The pool is OK but the beach area is great. The room was a standard size hotel style, nothing fancy but adequate. Being on the ocean side allowed for a nice breeze at night for sleeping. Turned off the A/C and enjoyed the fresh air even during the day. The staff were friendly and helpfull. I rated it as a 4 star here based on the scale available though it is more a three star on the more standard hotel scales I have delt with. We usually stay in more upscale resorts but had a good experience and highly recommend this for the affordability and will consider staying again in the future.

Go with the breakfast plan. It was great. Got to eat at other places. Employees made us feel at home. Beach and pool were nice. n Only problem we had, I had a knee replacement not long ago and the elevator did not work on some days. We were on the 6th floor. But our room and the view made up for it.
