Great location . Close to Restaurants & Main street The staff were very friendly and helpful They let us check out late Great breakfast !!!

Room was clean and well appointed. Nice outdoor sitting area overlooking harbor

Service was amazing! Great location. Truly an amazing experience. Higjly recommend!!

Great place in Puerto Ayora. It's not cheap but a nice haven from the bustle of town. The rooms are well appointed, great mattresses, nice showers with wonderful bath products. And fabulous Pina Coladas! Staff was very helpful -- they agreed to keep our bags for a few days while we went to different island.

The hotel changed ownership in May. When we booked hotel in April through travel agent they rush us to put $1000 deposit and also take whole meal plans for three nights we stay. They increased price to $150 more per room when we told them we are not taking meal plan. We eventually went online to book the hotel without meal plan. We were very shocked the restaurant was even not available for breakfast when we checked in July due to renovation. They gave us coupon to other hotel for breakfast. They should have known the restaurant was not function in July when we booked in April. But they attempted to force us to book meal plan. We were very shocked by dishonest of this hotel.

We booked 4 rooms and all showers having drain issues. The bathrooms have very bad smell. The hotel is under major turnover of ownership and management. The restaurant is closed for renovation. they also appears totally under staffed.

Hotel itself is beautiful. It is very conveniently located to the main strip along the water. Restaurants and bars with easy walking distance. Staff spoke descent English and was friendly. Only downside which ended up making for a rather unpleasant evening, our AC went out and night staff did nothing about it. Also had massive water pressure issues.

Pros: breakfast, interaction with local animals right on the deck (sea lions, iguanas, etc), good location Cons: the rooms need some serious updating, you will likely sleep surrounded by geckos, spiders, etc and staff (except for morning shift young man) are not helpful and not trained well. I asked for a room w a sea view and was given a room facing inwards. Second room had a seview, air was not working. Third room was finally great, but it was an upgrade. When you are paying $300 per night for a room you expect better than this. Photos are deceiving to say the least.

Dear guest, While you are correct in that the hotel changed ownership in May 2017, we are not responsible for any information given during reservations or bookings beforehand, including those of April. These were conducted by the previous management. What we can do is respond to your review considering you were one of our new guests in this time of turn over. On our behalf, we sincerely apologize for any inconveniences during your stay, especially for the closure of the restaurant. Although it was closed, we did ensure your meals were provided since this was offered by the previous management by giving coupons to another nearby restaurant in order to provide what had been previously offered. The previous owners did not know our plans to renovate the restaurant and outside deck. Although, we are happy to now announce that the restaurant is now open and the renovations involving the deck are now complete. Thank you for your time in writing your review. We appreciate any and all feedback as it helps us to continuously improve our services.

Dear Guest, Thank you for providing us with feedback from your stay at the Red Mangrove. Please accept our most sincere apologies for not meeting your expectations. Since 1 May 2017 the hotel is managed by a new administration, we had started a rebubrishment process in which we are making several changes like remodeling the deck, renovating the restaurant, changing the main entrance, reception and providing new furniture and appliances in all the rooms. We are taking all necessary measures in order to restore the hotel into a quality product that will provide a true, luxury experience in the Galapagos Islands. Red Mangrove would like to thank you for the suggestions you provided within your review. RED MANGROVE
