My stay at Hilton garden was amazing check in was less than 5 mins, the free shuttle service was perfect, staff was incredible and the room was absolutely beautiful! Can’t wait to return to this hotel!
I stayed at this hotel a few years ago when it was newly remodeled. Loved it for the most part. The views of the bay from the rooms which have a view, are lovely. The lobby, dining area and bar/lounge overlooking the bay are also lovely. I came back for another two stays recently, about one week apart and it looked like there had been little upkeep since my initial visit. The rooms, particularly the bathrooms and the hallways are looking pretty worn. When we arrived at the hotel on the first of our two recent visits, the elevator floor was sticky as if someone had spilled a soda earlier in the day. Then we realized that the floors all over the lobby level were also sticky. It remained like this until we checked out the next morning. The staff was terrific and friendly and we enjoyed hanging out in the lounge overlooking the bay on both visits. This hotel is just too expensive considering the small rooms and lax maintenance. I'm in love with the views but may look for a nicer hotel next time I'm in Providence.
Do not stay on the North side you will be 20 feet from the 195 highway lanes!!! I had picked a room online randomly, was an end room literally on top of the freeway. Asked to change, was told the water side is an upgrade. Well if my only option is upgrade with water or traffic all night, guess I have to upgrade. Second room was also on end. Walk in shower was nice, however morning surprise almost no water pressure. I messed with the shower head and finally gave up - all the options were just very weak. I'm not expecting high end, but seriously had a hard time washing my hair with no pressure to rinse. And slightly warm was hottest temp possible - ie: no steam in shower at all. Good for using the mirror, not good on a chilly fall morning. Up to date looking, view of the water is nice. However, the India Street Park has bridges and walkways leading up to it, nice spot for the homeless to hang out at night. I wouldn't go walking around here on my own. Parking was ok, but all outside and few very small covered spots. Could use something enclosed and secure given the area. Nice staff I will give them that. Breakfast just ok, better than finding somewhere on the road. Otherwise, wouldn't stay here again, prefer to be downtown and truly walk-able area.
We chose this hotel because of its location at the beginning of the East Bay Bike Trail. lt was also across the street from a waterside park and within easy walking distance to downtown restaurants. Pay the extra bucks for a harbor view room!
Good location to Brown University. Good parking when it is not overrun with park goers across the street. Breakfast is extra. Very nice staff. The room was small for two double beds and the shower door did not completely close so the floor got wet...
The description of the hotel is “A quiet hotel retreat featuring spectacular views ... (which) offers guests the opportunity to relax”. I found this misleading in the extreme. We were placed at the back of the hotel above the eight lane highway which was extremely noisy. When we asked for another room we were told the hotel was full for both days of our booking (although we saw very few guests over the weekend). They offered us a noise making machine to try and drown out some of the constant, annoying traffic din. This had limited effect and illustrates that the hotel knows that it’s noise insulation is seriously deficient. Although the rest of the stay was OK - distance to shops and restaurants and the room itself - I felt seriously deceived by the advertising descriptions and photos. Also the prices charged were massive given the issue with this major road right outside my window. Although I have long used Hilton I will now reconsider this in future.
Nice view from the room and good breakfirst food, but there was not a swimming pool. it takes 30 min to downtown, center of waterplace. I donot know can I take a shuttle bus I had seen to the downtown.
We had to set our daughter up for school at Brown coming from Missouri. This was a good location about 15 minutes away. Also 15 minutes from the airport. We could walk to quaint restaurants and the park in the harbor across the road. Parking is complimentary but tight if you park in the garage. Was a tad disappointed when the app said I had to stop at the front desk first. It also said checkout was available by the app so I waited until we were on the road and it said I had to stop at the desk and wouldn’t let me. Lobby was beautiful with water available. Breakfast was complimentary for diamond and platinum members. Using the app I could pick my room. Harbor view is approx $16 a day extra. The other side is an expressway with the sound of traffic all night. I tried to switch when I got there but rooms were full. We just turned the fan on all night to block out some of the noise. Was the perfect location and we will definitely be back but will be taking the harbor view.
The rooms are shockingly tiny. I’ve staying in very small hotel rooms in Chicago, NYC and many in Europe and the rooms at this hotel were the smallest I’ve have ever seen. Hotel is located in a very open area away from downtown so it’s quite perplexing that they made the rooms so tiny. We heard every word our neighbor said and them cough all night as if they were in the same room. Location is ideal, view was nice and staff were amazing.
Check into a very lovely, upscale HGI. Great looking bar. Only to find out that there was a "MEDICAL EMERGENCY" that prevented the BAR and the DINING ROOM from providing any services. I thought about that and that mean that ONE PERSON provided those services and could not be replaced. Very poor response on the part of HGI.
