The hotel is in a perfect location with beautiful sea views, walkable distance to centre of town and in a quieter location. The hotel staff were so welcoming, attentive and friendly. Our room was beautiful with an amazing view. The amenities were plentiful. We had dinner at Il Capitano and it was amazing. Will definitely come back and stay here again

Great views and very nice amenities with hot tub on patio area. Community pool was very small and did not have much of a view. Noise was a bit of a problem at night when the bar was serving just above us.

The room was huge, balcony with partial ocean view. Bed was comfortable, service was impeccable from chech in to check out. The location is perfect, high enough for great views and close enough to shops, restaurants and the beach below.

Absolutely amazing views from the balcony every morning. I could sit all day and watch the boats come and go! Our balcony was not completely private as diners sitting in the dining area can see onto the balcony, but otherwise, a wonderful stay.

I love this place. Excellent service. My room was upgraded to a room with a nice view to the beach. Personnel had a wonderful customer service. Food and drinks were great, specially the welcom drink. The location of the hotel is a little far from port but t is worth the walking distance. Next time i will stay in this hotehotel

While the location and building were exceptional. Since the reopening the staff was all very very very young, and inexperienced. Offering many apologies and no solutions. The staff rotated positions with no one leading the way. Even the cappucino's were inconsistent and would make any proper Italian cry. Breakfast omelet maker lacked any training. OJ was from a bottle and not fresh. This property is now an Instagram phenom with no depth .....

Very impressive hotel and more importantly a fantastic staff. We had a sea view suite with an expansive balcony, private sauna and incredible view. The restaurant, Il Capitano, was one of the best we experienced in town in terms of service and quality. From check-in to checkout, the experience was seamless. Beware of the over 300 stair steps you’ll climb to reach the property, but the view is worth it!

This property was wonderful. The staff was friendly and super helpful with information about the area and dining options. The breakfast is fantastic overlooking a beautiful view of the Mediterranean - fruits, veggies, cheeses, made to order eggs, pastries, etc. The cooking class was great, some of the best food we had. The room we had was large. The hotel is also located in a great area, close to lots of restaurants, shopping and the beach.

What a great place. Staff was incredible. Being there on the shoulder season was a great idea. I can see where it would get very busy during peak season. My wife and I are in our mid 60s and we struggled with all the steps in Positano but we did it. Montemare is very strategically located…not too high on the cliff…not to low. Great experience…get on the water. It’s cheap and easy.
