This hotel is incredible. We got an upgraded room. The views are breathtaking and the staff is amazing. The restaurant li galli - and the experience it offers - is out of this world. No better place for our honeymoon.
Very disappointed staying here. The rooms are tiny! I didn’t even have space to lay my luggage out. It’s definitely overpriced, you are just paying for the view( which is not the prettiest color your looking at the other side), the room I would say it’s worth maybe 1/3 of what we paid. I would much rather pay a little more and just stay at Le Sirenuse. Which has a much better view and it’s not that much more expensive. I was so mad I didn’t even want to take photos of the room.
HVF is a gorgeous property situated at the very top of the hill in Positano. Upon arrival we were greeted at the front desk by Tanya and the staff. We were checked in were given a tour of the hotel and its facilities. The staff was wonderful, accommodating and more than happy to assist with any request. The hotel has a spa, gorgeous rooftop pool, restaurant and a lounge bar. Breakfast is included in your stay. I am a connoisseur of breakfasts and I must say their breakfast was impressive! They offered an extensive variety of freshly baked pastries and breads, fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, yogurt, cereal and an omelet station which would make eggs to order. They had a beautiful honey station which offers a variety of different honey and beautiful honey comb! This boutique hotel is truly gorgeous. It was recently renovated and it is apparent every detail was thought through. The contemporary decor perfectly frames what are arguably the best views in Positano. The view from the lobby, our room (Room # 448) or the rooftop pool are all unique and just utterly breath-taking. HVF is at the top of the hill and it’s a bit of a walk down to the stores and restaurants. They provide a shuttle service, but it runs only during certain scheduled hours, so we ended up walking. Chez Black, Fly Bar Lounge and Music on the Rocks are must visits while in town. From the Fly Bar Lounge at night, you can look up on the hill and HVF literally looks like the shining north star perched on the hill.
This is a beautiful property overlooking Positano. The roof top pool is glamorous. Max was especially helpful with our room selection and making our stay special. The terrace rooms are worth the price.
After arriving from a wonderful 5 star hotel in Rome, the HVF just didn't compare! The AC in the room wasn't working and there was an awful sulfur smell in the bathroom. The front desk was notified, and the AC was fixed, but the smell wasn't! We were told that we would be switched to another room, which never happened, so we had to put up with it for 5 nights! The room service was horrible! A simple bucket of ice needed 2-3 phone calls until they got it right! After having an awful experience with a restaurant they recommended and booked, the front desk just said, " nobody ever complained before" and looked at us with a blank stare! They obviously didn't care. On our last night, after their recommendation again, we at their restaurant. It was a nice experience, but didn't appreciate the 14 Euro for the water or the 24 Euro for a glass of Prosecco that they asked us if we wanted "to try!" Talk about taking advantage of people! NOT APPRECIATED! Again, when the front desk asked how out experience was, we told them of these OUTRAGEOUS charges, and AGAIN, we got the blank stare! Not the reaction we would expect from a 5 star establishment! The views were beautiful, the breakfast was incredible, but we left with a feeling that nobody really cared because they never did anything to make unhappy guests have a better experience and want to return.
We couldn't be happier with our stay at this hotel! The team members are all so helpful, were very organized in helping us with excursions, transfers, and spa treatments. The furnishings are very stylish and the artwork around the hotel was so unique and perfects appointed. The meal we had at Li Galli was probably the best food we had during our whole trip. It wasn't cheap, but you get what you pay for. Loved it!
Let me start by saying that I really, really wanted to love this hotel. The hotel itself is pretty, in a new, contemporary sort of way. Our suite was very spacious, clean, bright, and decorated very nicely. Unfortunately, our accommodations were not in the main building and our room was built exactly next to another building and our room backed up to that building, so we heard strange noises all day and night. The balconies, although large and with incredible views,, offered no privacy. The hotel’s location was not “wonderful” and we quickly realized that we had made a huge mistake and should have stayed at Villa Il San Pietro (we didn’t bc we thought our hotel’s location was better, which was not the case). The beat part of the hotel was the food, room service was INCREDIBLE. The worst part was the staff at the reception and front desk. They were simply put, not nice. They “forgot” to pick us up from the ferry and instead of apologizing, one of the concierge told us that they didn’t offer that service and that no hotel in Positano did (even though A. we had requested someone meet us and to have our bags transferred and B. there were many other hotels who did have people meeting their guests with signs at the dock). Additionally, one of the concierge lied about making us dinner reservations (she said that she had put us on the wait list for La Sponda which we found out wasn’t true when we stopped in to see the status of our reservation). After spending a week in Capri and experiencing the most hospitable and warm service, we expected the same type of experience at HVF. Nothing could have been further from the truth. My advice, stay at Il San Pietro or Le Sirenuse. This hotel although pretty, has no depth, is lacking class and had ZERO traditional Italian “feel” to it (other than the view, the hotel could have been in any city in the world).
Great attentive staff. Incredible views. The rooms are definitely on the smaller side and expensive. Thought we would’ve gotten more for the dollar but I guess you can’t put a price on views.Rooftop views are incredible
Spent 3 nights at the Villa Franca and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff, Fantastic breakfast and just a stunning, modern property with a fantastic view. Lunch by the pool was a bit pricy however delicious! It was the best meal of our trip up that point and very appreciated. There is noise from the hall due to marble flooring, and the restaurant as we were directly under it, but the noise subsided by sleep time. Cannot say enough about the staff, wonderful customer service. We were early for check-in and were directed to a changing room so we could enjoy the pool while we waited. Would stay there again.
Beautiful hotel with an incredible view. Hotel Villa Frank is a smaller hotel but is updated and it’s all white. The rooftop bar is small but gorgeous. We also ate at the restaurant there and it was delicious. The hotel sits on the very top of the mountain so if you want to go to the beach you have to take a shuttle halfway and walk the rest. We actually took the shuttle on the way down and decided to walk all the way back up instead of calling them. It was not as bad as it looks. There were many wonderful things to see and it felt very safe because there are so many people around. Shops and restaurants all the way up. Romantic and beautiful!
