This property is poorly outdated .. it is not clean and the outdoor lighting is not safe outside .. the furniture was all sticky upon touch.. the outdoor lighting was unsafe and there was an outdoor fire in the parking lot the night before right next to parked vehicles and this would of ended very badly or been handled of maybe cameras and lights outside worked . For the price the carpets in the hallways should be clean and not brown dirty / stained Also when greated by staff do not remind them they are not from around the area because they are wearing a mask. I blew this off and ensured her I am a recovering cancer patient and this is my normal. When a customer is standing at front desk and three employees are sitting there stop talking about their employee not there and how horrible she is with all her smoke breaks
Workers smoke outside the main entrance allowing smoke smell into lobby and hallway. They need to move further away from the door but can’t because they are still on duty and not on break.
Cleanliness and room comfort was disappointing due to strong smell of smoke in a non smoking room
We stayed here to visit the local university. Best part: The bed was so comfortable! Lots of fluffy pillows, pillow top mattress and fluffy down comforter. Good continental breakfast with both hot and cold options. Worst part: The shower. Very hard water. It made for crusty showerhead, low water pressure, and hard to fix hair. Felt awful. Also, WiFi bars came in and out on my phone. Does have hard wire at desk for computers. Room looked clean but it was dusty. Some but not all of towels smelled like smoke in a non-smoking room. Wonder if that was housekeeping or someone smoked in there before and they didn't change or the towels. Just dirty. I slept fine but there is a train track across the street the kept 1 of 3 of family up all night.
This is probably the nicest lodging in the area. Clean and comfortable and noticeably the choice stay for others who visit Portsmouth. Away from downtown and the college so not as convenient as it could be, but it is quiet and the staff are nice.
The staff was friendly. The breakfast was good. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The motel could use more vending machines, and upgraded exercise equipment.
Stayed one night while visiting son at nearby college (3 mi. away). The bed was the most comfortable ever experienced in motel stays. The hot breakfast was very good. The staff was very friendly. We will be back.
I looked at several hotels in Portsmouth and in particular, the reviews. After reading bad review after bad review for several hotels, (dirty, worn, torn, surly staff, broken security doors, etc.), I was worried I wouldn't find a good hotel in the area. I was pleasantly surprised and very pleased with this hotel - it was located on the main drag as you enter town, clean, newer, the staff was friendly and they provide a hot breakfast. Would highly recommend it to anyone.
The room was in good shape and looked renovated, but the bathroom needed some touching up. I would stay at another hotel if needed, but options were minimal for this area.
Needed a place to stay while working with the SOMC group on a trial. First time staying at a Comfort Inn. Great value.
After staying at other hotels in the Portsmouth area, the Comfort Inn was a pleasant surprise. the rooms were modern and very comfortable. They entire facility was clean and attractive. So far, the nicest place in Portsmouth.
The Comfort Inn was clean with comfortable beds. The bathroom had sufficient towels and washclothes so we didn't have to ask for anything which was a plus. The staff were very polite and friendly. Parking was free, breakfast was free & the room rate was reasonable. Would stay here again if in Portsmouth.
The room was very clean and very spacious. The hotel staff was friendly, and the location was convenient to everything in Portsmouth. Free Wi-Fi and a generous amount of television stations.
The rooms were clean, the staff was very helpful. I had forgotten my razor and deodrant and I had to get to a high school reunion and they had some for me. The breakfast was very good also.
