Park your car and take a taxi to Porto and the waterfront area. Typical quality and service of the Novotel chain. Very good breakfast buffet. The staff was very accommodating and fluent in the English language
We stayed at this hotel for one night and we were pleasantly surprised to find a confortable and spacious room. The hotel is very well located just on the other side of the river from Porto's ribeira and close to a Corte Ingles in Gaia in case you need to do some shopping. Parking is free and available which is a great. Benefit. If your coming to Porto I recommend the hotel for your stay.
We had a great time in Porto Novotel with a family feeling. Service are really great and that is really the best value for money. On top of that , my kids enjoyed the pool the whole journey . . . . . .merci !
A very nice Hotel off the beaten track but once we were used to the public transport system we were surprised to find it worked really well for us with busses running close to the Hotel from very early until late, and the ADANTE tickets purchased from the metro stations were valid we used mostly the 24 hour tickets for different zones depending on how far afield we wanted to travel, When we arrived at the Novo tel we were checked in by Aderito who had an excellent knowledge of the area and gave us many ideas and suggestions, this carried on throughout our stay, his customer service was excellent a real credit to the ACCOR group, our room was of a good size with fabulous views of the hotel gardens, pool, River, and ocean, the room was kept clean and tidy by housekeeping to a very high standard, a standard that we experienced from ALL of the Hotels staff, The Breakfast was also a fine experience with the many varied choices of hot and cold food, excellent coffee's and teas, well attended and often replenished, would certainly stay again 10/10. My tip on public transport is to do a little research regarding the ADANTE tickets and Zones that they cover if you intend to use the transport system to get around as it is good value
A number of previous reviews comment on the location. Therefore, it is important to understand that this hotel is not in central Porto. However, the metro and bus system does make it reasonably accessible; well, to be fair, we only used public transport to return to the hotel and never discovered where the bus stop is to go to the nearest Metro stop (Casa de Musica). On the other hand, having encountered about ten staff, in various roles, I must state that they were all very welcoming and helpful. Staff/guest relations are so important and, on this score, the Novotel does well. In terms of the bedroom, I was more than satisfied. I did have a sea view room which, perhaps, helps. There was a safe (never used) and more than adequate mini-bar. Some previous reviewers have commented on the smallness of the shower (located above the bath); I'm six feet two inches and had no problem although there is not a great deal of room.
Recommended by a relative, we stayed here for three nights whilst visiting Porto. Comfotable rooms, the great advantage is the parking. Good fish restaurants at nearby beaches. Clean, good service and efficient, courteous reception desk.
Location and service were ok. Rooms need urgent carpet replacement. Do not expect a very spacious room. Good value for money . Friendly staff and good variety for breakfast. Internet works well. It's located on a hill and walking around may be bothersome for kids or people with limitations .
We stayed for 2 nights in Dec 2016. The staff is very kindly. And the room and breakfast was very good. The location is also good. Just 10 min to city centre of Porto by car or taxi. If we go to Porto again，I want to stay this hotel, again.
Really enjoyed the hotel because it had all i required: good price, family rooms, excelent breakfast, free car park, out of city center but very close getting there althought its in Gaia,Porto is really nearby. You must have a car. very bad point: rooms for wheelchair users have bath!!! Never had i seen such a thing.
Stayed there because if a conference, but still thinking i should have chosen the ibis across the street. The rooms are quite aged (no plugs or light switch at the bed stand) and location... in the middle of nowhere. Wifi did not work at all in the two rooms i tried floor 3 out of 4 and in both bathrooms i found different types of hair... The staff was extremely polite and friendly, though
