Beautiful hotel - well designed, uniquely set and surrounded by a picturesque garden. Very relaxing ambiance. Gym facilities are nice. Good playground for kids. Breakfast has good choices and worth the price. Rooms are clean, have good space, and are contemporary. Staff are well trained and are accommodating.. it is conveniently located close to shops, restaurants and main sites. Parking is easy and reasonably priced. Cannot recommend enough.

Staff extremely nice. The hotel was very nice. Away from the crowds if you’re happy to be so, we loved the pol areas. Found it all very relaxing & comfortable. Parking was expensive but a necessity here. It was great to have the option of a car as we wanted to travel.

Very nice location next to an old mansion. There is a lovely outdoor pool. Some of the public carpet areas were dirty. Breakfast had a great selection but coffee was slow to come out of the kitchen. No complimentary water included. Not too much of a problem but would be handy to know this at check-in. There is a supermarket near by for water.

There were some very good aspects, others less good. The room was large, lovely bathroom and very comfortable bed. The staff were all very friendly and tried to be helpful. A few things detracted from this. First was the pool, where some guests (the young adults rather than the young children!) were very loud and had no awareness that this was quite annoying. Also, the pool area was a little underwhelming - not all sunbeds had mattresses, they were worn in areas. The floor area around the pool could also have been cleaner. Secondly, the room was cleaned each day but on the first day the coffee mugs were not replaced, suggesting this was not done with very much attention to detail. Additionally, service in the bar was a bit haphazard - the staff there were doing their best but there were additional agency staff brought in and they were clearly not sufficiently experienced or trained. The spa was very nice but it seems odd that in a hotel of this size, someone has to be brought in for some treatments. Our 'view' was over the back of the hotel. It was very noisy from what I think were the aircon machines, and as a result the balcony wasn't a great place to sit. Lastly, there was a rooftop bar area which was one reason for me booking this hotel - but this was only available for private functions. This sounds negative, but it is only intended to be constructive as many of these points would have easy fixes. Overall we enjoyed Porto and our stay, and would come back again.

This hotel is amazing for its location, gardens, facilities and rooms. We have stayed here twice now; once as a couple and once with our 3 children (6,10 and 11). The two swimming pools are beautiful, warm and clean. They are never very busy and there is no fighting for sun beds. The restaurant serves lovely food and drinks. The breakfast is the best hotel breakfast we have ever had. There is a play park and beautiful gardens including a fenced off duck pond within the hotel grounds. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The location is great. 10 minutes walk to el Corte ingles and 2 metro stations (camara Gaia is the easiest station to get off at) which then only takes 5 minutes to get to central Porto. What really makes this hotel outstanding is the staff who are a credit to their occupation. Every single staff member we encountered were professional, kind and welcoming. Myself and my son had to extend our stay due to him coming down with chicken pox during our stay and we were always checked on, made to feel welcome and there was nothing too much. Thank you all, we will be back again!
