Great hotel. Very clean rooms. Next to the metro, which is frequent, cheap & very convenient. Staff great, very helpful & friendly. Would recommend. Great breakfast choice too. Cheap price. Next to el Corte shopping centre
As normal had great short break staying at the Clip Hotel. Spotless, Warm and Friendly.Would like to thank the staff for all their efforts. Deff stay again there. Easy for metro and the shopping areas of Porto.
The hotel is right next to the Corte Ingles store and has a metro/tram stop very close by that takes you to Porto very quickly. Breakfast is simple (no hot choices), but fine. Everything is refilled very quickly. The rooms are fine too, but the walls are thin so bring your ear plugs. Very small elevators! The staff is very friendly and helpful.
I stayed here 3 nights as part of British Airways package. The hotel is modern, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. I slept like a log, wasn't disturbed by any noise either from the street or from other guests. Some hotels have paper thin walls, but not this one! The bathroom was well supplied with thick clean towels, and there was a wall mounted bodywash dispenser in the shower cubical. Good lighting, ample space and spotless. The staff were unfailingly helpful and cheerful, switching from different languages to help guests. I was impressed. The small lobby has a seating area with comfy sofa's and a help yourself supply of free tea, coffee and fruit juices, plus a fridge with bottles of cold water. Alcohol is available and is moderately priced. The huge department store next to the hotel is a landmark, has very late night hours, and serves very good food in both it's basement food hall & 6th floor restaurant. Location wise, it's a 2 minute walk to the metro station, and I made good use of my travel card. A bargain at 5 Euro's per 24 hours, which included the metro from the airport and back again. My only quibble... and this is a tiny one.... The electric socket for recharging phones/tablet etc were on a wall behind the bedside table, but about a foot off the floor. Really awkward positioning,& would have been better to have the socket above the desk. For a 3 star this hotel is an excellent choice.
Put in by tour operator. Bland, a bit dull, 20 min walk into town BUT good for Porto's excellent Metro, right to door. If you're into modern shopping, you'll like El Corte Ingles next to hotel but we'd have preferred a bit more character in city. Breakfast (cold) a bit poor and chaotically disorganised!
We stayed at the Clip two weeks ago for a week.It was well situated next to the metro station and only twenty minutes walk down the hill towards the Duoro bridge. Just across the road was El Cort Ingles which was great fo late night eating ranging from a la carte to a combined food hall.It came in very useful on more than one occasion. The staff on reception were a good laugh as well as being so helpful without being pushy but the room staff were magical. Yes the breakfasts were the same each day but I never found them lacking in any way. The Clip treated us extremely well and we would definitely stay again.Great access from the airport and links all over the city.
The receptionists were always very friendly. The hotel has a very good location, close to metro, shopping, bakeries, market, etc. It is clean and comfortable. The air conditioning broke down, the hotel didnt work to fix it and to compensate gave us a voucher for breakfast. I highly recommend it.
Absolutely brilliant hotel! The location is absolutely ideal - just a minute from the metro, and only a few stops from the centre of town. Our room was spotless, cleaner than any other hotel I've ever stayed in. The Clip staff were extraordinarily helpful - the front desk was manned 24/7 with unfailingly polite employees; on our last day they kept our luggage for us before our late flight, called us a taxi, and let us know that we could purchase tickets for our day-trip to the Santa Inacio Zoo at the front desk with them so we wouldn't have to queue. I couldn't recommend this lovely hotel more.
Just returned home from a 4 day break in Porto. Cliphotel is a great base for anyone staying in Porto. It's located over the river Douro in Gaia so if you're expecting to be in central Porto then you'll be disappointed. It's located on a main road, straight up from the ponte luis bridge and you can walk from the hotel to there in around 15/20 mins or alternatively there's a metro stop right outside the hotel that gets you into the centre in 5 mins. A top tip if staying over a weekend the metro is 24 hours on Friday and Saturday nights so you can get the metro back to the hotel easily if eating/drinking in central Porto. The rooms are clean and modern and we had no issues at all apart from the plug sockets were slightly faulty in our room. One our adapter got stuck in and the others wouldn't stay plugged in. We had room 707 which was next to the lift and a little noisy at times but not too bad. Breakfast is continental and has a good spread. we had a great time and thought the hotel was great value and a great location.
We were given a room on the 10th (highest) floor - nice to have a view over Vila Nova de Gaia (even though you can't see the old town, it's cool to be up high!). We had a balcony with sun loungers - nothing fancy but nice to relax in the afternoon sun. Reception staff friendly and helpful. No tea/coffee facilities in the room but you can help yourself to tea, bottles of water, juice and fruit at reception whenever you like. Breakfast was continental and there was a good variety of choice (boiled eggs, ham and cheese, pastries - including natas one day [DELICIOUS], fresh and canned fruit, yoghurt, cereals, toast, fresh orange juice among the drink options...I was happy! ). No problems with in-room facilities, good Wifi, TV worked with lots of channels to choose from, room and towels were very clean. The lift is small (we could only fit the two of us with backpacks and it was a squeeze with our luggage!) but that's not really a problem, just something to note. The location was great for us as it meant that we could walk over the bridge to the old town every day and get that stunning vista on the way. It takes about 20 minutes to get from the hotel to the bridge if you walk - much quicker if you decide to get the tram, which stops practically outside the hotel. You are also right next to El Corte Ingles - a huge department store - for your shopping needs! If you are booking on to the Yellow bus tour, it happens to stop at El Corte Ingles so that was really handy for us after a day's sightseeing!
