Fantastic rooms perfectly appointed. I would suggest the front facing executive rooms. The balconies are not big enough to sit or relax on, but they do offer a good ambiance. We were at this hotel on the noisiest night of the year - Sao Joao - but we were able to relax and sleep. The breakfast buffet was very good with fresh squeezed orange juice and very good pastries. And the hotel gym was well-appointed as well. I suggest making use of the concierge service to make restaurant reservation before you arrive - just email them. The concierge desk is excellently staffed and very helpful. Overall a great stay. Suggestions for improvement: The massage beds in the spa are not high-end enough for a hotel of this quality. They should be more luxuriously padded and perhaps even heated.
We stayed 3 wonderful nights at this amazing hotel, which is decorated with a lot style. At the first night, we had a problem with our room , and after a short check, they upgraded us to a junior suite, which was outstanding. As you already noticed, the service was one of a kind, beginning at the entrance with the bell boys, and then the front desk, the guest relations, the concierge, who gave us brilliant tips about the restaurants in and around the city and the room service staff. The hotel's location is perfect. The suite was very clean and with all the right amenities. Breakfast buffet was rich and excellent. No doubt that we will be back.
We were the happy guest at Intercontinental Hotel in Porto. This hotel is well-managed. We stayed at suite, which was clean and easy to use. The following is my experience with them: 1. Transportation: We used their limousine service. The drivers were excellent, and ride was comfortable. 2. Room: Clean and ease of use. Everyday, their housekeeping lady cleaned the room well. We could relax in the room. 3. Concierge: They were very helpful, particularly Rogerio. I wanted to visit a specific winery so that I can purchase the 40 years old port wine, which I did drink in Japan and could not believe the taste. Joel (manager) and Rogerio were extremely helpful to set up the visit, arrange the car and respond to my inquiries on real-time. Because of their excellent help, I could purchase and ship many bottles to my home in California. 4. Money exchange: They recommend for me to go to the money exchange at the station, which is only one block away. The rate was better than ATM when I change smaller amount. 5. Restaurant: They use the excellent food material. We had breakfast buffet and dinner (twice). Only problem: We asked no salt. Even the waiter said no salt when she delivered the dish, the food had a lot of salt. There is the communication problem between the waiter and the chef. (I was ready to ask but my wife stopped me to complain.) Since they have the excellent facility and excellent people/services in excellent location, they are the best in Porto. We will go back to this hotel when we will be back to Port.
Two nights at this hotel were more than enough. The room was fine but the front desk team were probably the least friendly people we experienced in 9 days in Portugal. The Concierge and the location for this hotel kept me from giving a lower rating. The dining room used for breakfast is too small for the size of the hotel and hence it provides for a very frantic and chaotic start to the day. The Concierge provided a complimentary port tasting for Graham's Port which was a very nice touch. In addition the Concierge recommendations for dinner were excellent.
next to San Bento train station and metro stop. Very convenient to get to anywhere. Decorated very luxuriously and elegantly. Upgraded to a corner room which is very comfortable. No pool. Staff was helpful. Late-checkout was given by 3 PM.
Was upgraded to an corner duplex suite. Fabulous space. So much space we didnt know what to do with it. Very friendly and professional staff. The location couldn't be beat. We walked everywhere and this is so central that you can stop by have a drink, change, take a nap (or whatever) and then go to dinner. Wonderful stay and will definitely return when we are in the area again.
In the heart of Porto old town. Next to San Bento metro stop and train station. Very convenient to get to anywhere. Decorated elegantly and luxuriously. Get a free room upgrade to a corner Room facing plaza, which was well-appointed and comfortable. Gym and Sauna room was connected and open 24 hours.
The Intercontinental in Porto, Portugal is so well located. Everything is within easy reach of it. We had a fabulous stay. The rooms were sized well and comfortable. I must mention that the room service was so prompt and perfect in their service. We had special baby food needs which were catered to at the drop of a hat. The Front Desk was very helpful and looked into our special room demands. The buffet breakfast was quite varied and fresh. The concierge was helpful except that a few times we were being pushed to take tours recommended by him. The lobby bar service was also great. The hotel had a functional Spa and Gym which were upto date with all our requirements. All in all i would stay at the Intercontinental once again for sure...!!!
We spent six great days at this hotel and were so glad we splashed out and paid the extra to do so. From the moment we walked through the door, we knew we were going to be in good hands. Although the hotel is situated on a busy square, we were allocated a wonderfully quiet room facing an inner courtyard. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, who went out of their way to greet us each morning and fulfil our every request. Breakfast was fantastic and well worth the extra. We had several bar meals which were also excellent. The hotel is really well situated and we were able to walk to every attraction. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
A newly renovated traditional style hotel conveniently located in the heart of Porto. We found the interior decorations and furnishings of our room very nice and new, even though we are not great fans of traditional decor. Great Concierge service with special thanks to the most helpful Mr Rogerio! Bell desk crew were very friendly and enthusiastic. Walking distance to popular sightseeing spots. Many restaurant choices near hotel - Brick was a great place for lunch and a nice little cafe called Linha 22 served simple and tasty breakfast at €6!
