We stayed here 3 nights and couldn't have been more comfy. Very welcoming yet non-intrusive hosts, and so much to do in Port Douglas! The in-room jacuzzi was our favorite feature! But the location also couldn't be beat. Everything was within walking distance.

Such lovely personalised service. You can tell this is owned by people that care. It may not be the flashiest or most up to date hotel but everything that you could ask for is there. Right on the Main Street Great air conditioned rooms Amazing spa bath in the room Lovely lagoon pool (small but nice) Bed is comfortable enough (a bit firm for my liking) Only negative is the balcony has weird concrete pillars that block the view so not very inviting to sit out on. But really who’s in Port Douglas to stay in your Room?

This hotel is a must-stop if you are in Port Douglas. Position is very central and easy to walk around town with its supermarket, shops, restaurants, beach, harbour, etc. We met people who were staying in fancy hotels out of town but had to pay for a hotel shuttle bus to come in - we were so lucky that we could just walk. Hotel has lovely pool area, washing machines and the rooms are well appointed. Our room was large with a balcony overlooking the lush garden. It had the bath/shower in a separate area of the room with a toilet mini-room in middle - fine for us after 30 years of marriage but not very private for less intimate couples! Very noisy with birds - just the best sort of noise! The lady manager was fantastic in helping us with excursions (barrier reef and Daintree). Beach was 5 mins walk away, coastal walkway 3 mins walk away and main street 2 mins walk away. Recommend Hemingways on harbour for dinner and loved Little Larder for breakfast. Listen to the starlings outside Coles at dusk - quite a spectacle. Would love to go back to this amazing place.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Regal. It is very centrally located, a 5 minute walk to both the beach and harbor, and 1 minute from shops and cafes. The rooms are spacious and clean, although the bathroom is very open which would only really suit couples! Would definitely recommend for a stay in PD!

I stayed at the Regent for six nights, I booked a studio but was upgraded to a one bedroom apartment, .The room was large and roomy. There were shutter doors to block the bedroom from the kitchen/lounge, I ate in and used the two ring hob which was adequate for me. There was also a washing machine and drier in the room. Nice size bathroom and I also has a Jacuzzi on the large balcony. It is a short walk to bar, restaurants, supermarket and shops, Nice pool area with BBQ to relax in. Very friendly and helpful staff

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Regal for four nights, having travelled up from Sydney. We booked the basic suite at a reasonable price, however upon arrival we were told our room had been upgraded free of charge to one of the larger suites with a jetted hot tub, which was a lovely surprise! The lady at reception was extremely helpful. She made sure we had transport sorted back to Cairns airport, which we had, and even took the contact details of the company down so had we not heard from them about our departure she could contact them. The room itself was very spacious and modern with a balcony, kitchen facilities, lounge area, and king size bed. It was fitted with an efficient air conditioning system, and fans in the bedroom and kitchen/lounge area -which is definitely needed considering the humidity of the area. The hotel also has free working wifi, an ice machine, and a pool area. The pool itself is on the smaller side, but considering the hotel was a 5 minute walk from the beach, and there being so much to do in the area, we barely used it. The only thing that may be worth mentioning is that there is no lift to get to the rooms, which could be difficult for those who struggle with stairs. Also this is very much a self catering hotel in terms of food and cleaning. There are plenty of lovely restaurants and take aways in the town, as well as a Coles supermarket, but if you prefer regular cleaning, room service, hotel restaurant etc, this probably isn’t for you. The hotel is in a brilliant location, no more than a 5 minute walk from the marina and four mile beach, and if you walk about 10 seconds to the top of the road the hotel is on, you’ll find yourself at the start of the town. Overall a really lovely stay. Port Douglas is a great place to be for trips to the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree and there’s also the really nice ‘Wildlife Habitat’ park nearby which is worth a visit if you have the time!

Went here for a small vacation and loved It! So much better than it looked on the website. Big rooms with the biggest balconies I've ever seen in a hotel. The bathroom was nice and we even had a hot tub (didn't use it though). The pool was nice and we spent the days there reading and just loving life. Good location and close to restaurant/bars/beach. Super nice staff!

I spent a wonderful time is there 15 years ago it was brand new and my daughter and I had a great time however it has become rather sad and shabby but a good spruce up would surely bring it back to life Great Central position amongst the shops and bars when they are actually open I hope to see some improvement in the future

Stayed at the Regal for 7 days in a lovely a one bedroom penthouse suite the staff were great the room neat and well set out this accommodation is highly recommended as really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back again soon

We stayed in the Regal Port Douglas for 4 nights. Can I firstly point out this is not a hotel, but a studio indoor spa. What does this mean? Well in essence you look after yourself in the room; no maid to make the bed in the morning, restock milk in the fridge, clean the floor and bath, change the towels etc. so if that's what you are looking for this is not the place for you. It is situated just off the Main Street in Port Douglas so very central and near the bars and harbour. There is free wifi and a large gated car park underneath, there is also a laundry and dryers in the basement. There is no lift so carrying cases to higher floors could be challenging, particularly for us as we had to heavy cases (being UK travellers on a long holiday). The spa is big, but doubles up as the shower. as such it could be challenging for the less able to climb in and out. Once in both the shower and spa is excellent. I also found the reception opening hours unusual - 9 to 5 - after that time the door and gate is locked and entrance is gained using the room key.
