Wow...What can i say. Upon arrival we were greeted with fantastic view's. The grounds are amazing. Staff were polite and attentive. We decided to upgrade from a double room to a suite. Definitely worth the extra money. Would definitely stay here again.
Comfortable and cozy bedroom with lovely facilities. Will happily stay again. Only issue was the room door from the inside wouldn't lock and the shower flooded in the morning as the shower tray was too slow to drain. This wouldn't stop me booking again!
Upon arrival the the hotel we was greeted by a very friendly accommodating receptionist, who very kindly pulled out all the stops to get our room ready before we left to attend a Wedding not far from the hotel. We arrived back around midnight after a long tiring day and finally got to appreciate our room. The room was lovely and clean and also quite spacious, much more than we expected as it was only a place to put our heads down. The first thing my partner said when he sat on the bed was how firm it was, firm was an understatement. Now I appreciate everyone likes different types of mattress's but this was like sleeping on a pile of bricks! Both my partner and I hardly slept because neither of us could get comfy! Like I've already said I appreciate all mattress's are different so decided not to report this when we checked out as overall the hotel is lovely and quite quirky. I woke up with a dull pain in my back but didn't think anything of it, since arriving home this has got worse which I can only put it down to the bed. I do not suffer from back problems and haven't before so the bed would be the only thing to trigger it. Overall really lovely hotel with very nice staff... but only stay there if you don't mind sleeping (spending the night not sleeping trying to get comfy!) on what feels like a pile of bricks!
Well what can I say... wow wow wow. I love this place.. the staff did everything they could do make our wedding special. The grounds are amazing. Stayed in suite 16 it is amazing.. we have stayed many times and we have found all the rooms we have stayed in brilliant.
An ideal wedding venue' excellent facilities' picturesque hotel and surroundings' Very clean and comfortable rooms' superb breakfast' Can not fault at all' thank you' Room 29 had everything you need '
We recently stayed for my sisters wedding and the family room we had booked ended up being a very small double room and having the put up bed in there made the room too small to get round. The room was so small that you could walk round the end of the bed without having to bend over to avoid hitting you head on the TV. You couldn't use the chair and had nowhere to put your case because of the put up bed. The put up bed had a runner missing and our 10 year old struggled to sleep. The toilet didn't flush properly in the room. Most of the staff were friendly but they were too keen when collecting empty glasses and took several people's drinks before they were finished.
Absolutely amazing!!! Stayed in suite 19 which is used for the pyjama party's. superb from start to finish. Finished to a high standard and is everything you could dream of. Love it that much we've booked to go back on the 24th to celebrate my birthday in suite 17. Can't wait!!
Visited for a friend's wedding which was really well organised. Staff very friendly and helpful and a good seeing for a civil ceremony. Food was good, especially evening buffet. We stayed in one of the suites and it was a real treat, made the stay feel really special. Treat yourself if you can.
We booked a night in one of the suites as it came up as an offer on the Facebook page, initially I had just commented that it was a shame we couldn't get a babysitter for he night that was being offered. The manor then contacted me through messenger to say they could probably extend the offer to another night and to contact them to see what they could offer. They happily accommodated the night we wanted and in a suite room too! The room itself is out of this world. Two stories, a separate lounge area, a 55" TV with Sky, an amazing bathroom. There is a real kettle and plenty of tea/coffee and even a cafetière and biscuits and Pringles. We paid for early check in and went for a walk, there are a couple of walks around there and the views from where we went were outstanding. A bit muddy though so take boots! We then ate in the Oak room and the food was extremely good and well priced. The only thing I would say is it's a little small but they make good use of the space. Before we went back to the room we went to the Jacobean pub for a drink. The bartender, Clem, made the night for us, he was a true character -something you just don't see these days. The bed was a little small for my tall man (6'1") and the mattress firm but I was quite comfortable and there's a lot of choices in pillows and you get a proper duvet. The climate control in the room is extremely good- for the size of room you would think it would take a lot to heat but we had no problems with the temperature at all - just tell the box what temp you want and it happens haha. Breakfast was served in the Jacobean pub and there was plenty of choice and the food tasted nice. We would definitely return to try another of the suites. Luxury.
Arrived for Afternoon Tea and we were directed to the Oak Room. No staff in attendance, so we chose our own table. Eventually we were served our tea but nothing in the way of a greeting, hello or even a smile. The food was ok but the beef was very tough and the trifle bland. We could not finish all the cakes, so we asked if they could be boxed up to eat later. The waitress refused to do this, so we had to leave them. What a waste of cake and money. We didn't feel very welcome at all and will not return.
