This is my second visit to the Inn, and I would highly recommend it. It is in a quiet neighborhood and close by to good restaurants. The staff are very accommodating and helpful, the breakfasts are delicious and the rooms and beds very comfortable. I suggest the Arkansas Black room, it gets morning sun and is located on the back of the property away from the street. Liz the owner is delightful.
The high tea was for a special occasion therefore I was willing to pay 35 each for a wonderful experience. It was not. We three were present along with one other table of 6 and we were placed in a side room at a huge round table all by ourselves. We had to wait a half hour just for the server to ask us what tea we wanted and when it arrived it was lukewarm. Then 10 minutes later our trays of food arrived. Very small and meager at best. Three small sandwiches each, 1 small scone each, 3 very small dessert each. By small I mean 1-2 inches at most. There were no serving tongs given to divvy out the food. And no clotted cream or jam until I had to ask for it. And then no spoons given for the cream/jam. The server knew our disappointment and gave us one small scone each to take home and $10 of bill to appease. But I wanted a wonderful experience for my guests and this was not. The Frick Cafe has a much better high tea with better service!
What a gem of a place. I’ve never been so pampered and cared for at a bed and breakfast. From the moment I stepped in the door, a staff member named Christopher was gracious, welcoming and helpful. There were so many details to the Inn that were thoughtful and lovely, from the flowers and herbs out back to the sitting areas, everything was well cared for. They even serve complementary wine and cookies in the afternoon. Thank you so much for a delightful stay. The Inn on Negley is a Pennsylvania treasure and the best bed and breakfast I’ve stayed in.
Spent two very pleasant nights here. Breakfasts were sumptuous and tasty. Baked good especially delicious. Nice sized suite with Victorian decor and free on site parking. The staff was very welcoming and helpful.
W recently spent 3 nights at the Inn on Negley and loved the place and location. We were able to visit all of the sights we wanted to see in about 10 minutes from the Inn. Would highly recommend this lovely place and also the breakfasts are fantastic.
I felt like royalty staying at The Inn on Negley! My room was absolutely gorgeous, with no detail overlooked. Each room is slightly different, appointed with lovely antiques and artifacts. The service was superb, from Liz, the owner, overseeing our stay, to Nick and Albert preparing delicious food, with homemade scones for breakfast and cookies as a treat during the day. They grow their own herbs in their garden and have a lovely patio to enjoy as well, expertly cared for by Larry, the plant whisperer. This is a hidden gem and THE place to stay in Pittsburgh. I would highly recommend The Inn on Negley!
I left a piece of my heart at the Inn on Negley! Nicole, Nick, Albert, and Larry are all so kind and go above and beyond with their guests. The owner, Liz, is absolutely wonderful. On my first day at the Inn, Nick prepared sandwiches for us with locally grown vegetables and fresh herbs from the garden— I think I am going to be dreaming about them for a long time. This place is so special. Do not leave without trying one of Albert’s homemade scones!
Was parking behind the Inn and had no issues with it. Our room was the Pippin room on the third floor. The stairs are relatively steep but we had no issues with it. Room was fine size for one night and nice bathroom. It was a very hot day but room had individual thermostat and kept the room nice and cool. Only issue we had was that WiFi was not too good on third floor but had no issues on the other floors. You pick you breakfast time the night before as well as breakfast entree (though they check with you in morning before they serve) We had a fruit cup and small piece of coffee cake. One of us had oatmeal and one a great waffle for breakfast. Dining room was very nice. Coffee was good and was available early as I went down around 7;30 and got a cup.
My girlfriend and I stayed here this past weekend, and we could not have been more pleased. From the attentive, super friendly staff, the beautiful rooms that were so well kept, and the amazing breakfast we were treated to every morning. The staff had no problem at all catering to my food allergies and made a 4 star breakfast(in my personal opinion) every day that wowed my tastebuds and kept me full throughout the busy wedding days we had ahead of us. I can not wait to visit Pittsburgh again, just so we can stay at The Inn one more time!!
Perfect location for our needs with free parking! We were in town for a wedding and had a wonderful 3 night stay. Room was charming, comfortable and well appointed with spacious bath area. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was courteous and went the extra mile to accommodate. Thanks to Liz and Nicole especially.
