We booked a triple room and the view looking directly at the leaning tower was mind blowing. My jaw still drops at the memory and at our photos. Communication with the hotel in advance of our arrival and check in was smooth, informative and welcoming. Taxi from the airport took us close enough to the B&B, we knew they could not drive to the front door. We were helped up the stairs with our luggage, given the wifi code and a phone number for emergencies and informed that the contents of the mini bar were included in the price of the room. The room and linens were very clean with the exception of some mold in the shower. Noise at night from excited/drunken tourists was not at all a problem when we visited, but there was some drainage work done in the early hours on the square that woke one of us - this can happen anywhere. Breakfast is indeed in a room to the back of the cafe, no view of the tower but not unpleasant. The cafe staff waved us in that direction initially, but when I approached them again and said that it was our first breakfast there and we were not sure how it worked, they were very kind and helpful. There was a little menu on the tables and also the possibility to choose things from the display inside the cafe. Note that the breakfast vouchers are not valid if you sit elsewhere. No one was at the B&B front desk when we checked out, so I was glad to have settled taxes etc in advance and I advise other guests to do the same. We gave the room cards to the cafe staff and headed off, very very happy with our choice to stay at Relais I Miracoli B&B. We walked to the train station, which was IMO a walk of low-middling interest except for a stop to see the Spirito Santo Church. I would not recommend this walk with large suitcases. I definitely recommend Relais I Miracol, especially if you can get a room with a view, and if the lack of an elevator and round the clock service are okay for you. We loved it.
Stayed here through a booking site, which was very mis-leading, the pictures showed what I thought was a reception area when in fact it was the coffee shop that the hotel is attached to down below, ( also the breakfast area). I’ve got to say when I arrived I was most disappointed at the reception area. Dark and dingy reminded me of a 1970s taxi office. Having said all that everything else was as expected, the bedroom had a shabby chic style about it and was very clean. Staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. English spoken very well. Handy for everything near the tower and a taxi rank with in 10 yards. Not suitable for anyone with mobility problems or children, lots of steep stone steps upto the rooms.
It's in a great location, youve got to give it five stars for that, and that's why we chose it. We were only in Pisa for less than 24 hours so wanted to be central (mind you, on our return a week later we stayed near the airport and got a bus in for less than 2 euros and walked back out). We didn't have a view of the tower, instead our room looked out over rooftops towards the botanic gardens, not the prettiest view but we had a nice little balcony with chairs to sit on. The room itself was comfortable but there was only one sachet of coffee and green tea, the fridge had complimentary drinks (two bottles of water and a can of coke)... we got the impression the staff had short changed us! No problems with the bed and we got a free pair of Leaning Tower slippers!! As for breakfast, cant complain. We ignored the menu and chose what we wanted before we entered the little room at the back.. we then had extra croissants. Overall we were happy with our stay. Probably wouldn't go back as we have seen the tower now and there are cheaper places further out, but there's nothing wrong with the place in our opinion.
I am a family of 4 and we were travelling with my parents who are old and dad has heart issues. We had booked 2 rooms at this hotel, it was our first destination to our Europe holiday. Leaving from Melbourne our flight was cancelled. We had contacted the hotel telling them that we will be checking in a day later due to this unfortunate circumstance which was out of our control. We arrived at the hotel EXHAUSTED at 10am. Only to find out that they gave one of our rooms away. My parents room and that we wont be able to get that room back until after 1pm. I was furious. I wasn't yelling but I did tell the gentleman whose name was Pablo that I was very disappointed. As dad needed to take his tablets and lie down. As we were having a discussion a lady who works at this hotel walked over to ask what the issue was. Not only did Pablo tell her in Italian but he looked at me and referred to me as a POUTANA I understood what he had just called me and I said to him "EXCUSE ME", the lady walked away and Pablo went bright red and said he was referring to another customer. How dare he? There was no other customer there. Then he tried to be super nice to cover up. I have never felt so disgusted in my life. Then we went to the room the air con wasn't working and either was the bar fridge. Apart from the views this hotel is a zero. Pablo you have a lot of explaining to do. How dare you call me a poutana your unprofessional and you disgust me. Learn to respect. I hope you get sacked. I will be telling everyone about my experience.
Stunning location right next to the tower. We stayed in a family room on the first floor (there is no lift btw) and the views of the square and tower cannot be beaten. Rooms are nice with modern bathroom. Free soft drinks in mini fridge was a nice touch. The reception staff were lovely and helpful. Would have been 5 stars but for the breakfast included in the rate. Its awful, served in cafe next door where you are hustled to a room inside, service was awful. Selection was also poor. Meanwhile other diners are treated to amazing views of the tower, great selection from the menu and I'm assuming better service but not sure! Recommend a stay at the hotel but factor in having breakfast elsewhere.
My family and I stayed here for one night while passing through passing on our way to Florence. We wanted somewhere that was next to the leaning tower and other historical monuments. This hotel is perfect in its location. We were able to lay in bed with the window open and see the sun set over the leaning tower. The room is basic and the beds are not comfortable. It is basic but within the 2 star rating. I hadn’t realised until after I booked it that it was only 2 stars. Which was my fault. One thing I hadn’t realised was that there is no elevator, so my husband had to carry our 2 heavy suitcases to the second floor. The stairs are narrow and steep. If I had been on my own I wouldn’t have managed but if you have a back pack or light suitcase you will be fine. The other thing is that the room was bed and breakfast. The “breakfast” is provided at the downstairs cafe, which is a nice cafe but the “breakfast” is a menu for light lunch. It’s fine but don’t be expecting a nice cooked breakfast. If your looking for basic with a good location then I’d recommend this but if you want somewhere a bit nicer to stay, I wouldn’t.
We booked this hotel/BB last year, well in advance of our visit to ensure we secured the room with the tower view we had to book the triple room. We had booked a transfer who wasn’t able to drop us right outside but it was a 5min walk from where he parked. Using google maps it was easy to find. If you walk towards the tower you can’t go wrong. The receptionists were very helpful and helped us to our room with our luggage. They did advise that there is an emergency number as reception isn’t manned 24hrs. They do not have a lift in this building so if you are unable to walk up stairs then do not book. As the room with the best view is up 2 flights of stairs. Breakfast facilities were available next door to the hotel. We got there for 9:45am as it’s available to the general public it can get quite busy the waiters/waitresses seemed quite rushed off their feet so I assume that’s why there customer service was quite poor. There is a selection of sandwiches, croissants, pastries and drinks which you select at the counter - good selection for a continental breakfast. The room and bathroom was very clean, there was complimentary toiletries/towels and teas/coffee. The views in the room were stunning the photo I posted is filter free. It can get quite busy so understandably with the windows open it will be nosey but the once closed you wouldn’t even notice all the hustle and bustle outside (I enjoy people watching 🙈) For the negative comment our room was next door to some nosey neighbours and their children were causing a racket so the walls must be quite thin. Luckily for us it was only children we could hear! I would recommend this hotel to those who are looking for something very close to the main attractions I don’t think you could find a better location. If you are a keen photographer this is the place to stay my husband was up at the crack of dawn and took some amazing shots with no one around!
This “BnB” was great!!! Got in late, still had exceptional service and nothing takes away from the view! It was a great start to out Northern Italy excursion. Just avoid the consistency of the restaurants below that attempt to reel you in with “free wine”.
We stayed for one night, a Sat to Sun in February for our wedding anniversary. We wanted to do something more interesting and felt one night in Pisa would be enough. We had two full days and felt this was enough. We flew with Ryanair which was fine. Got a taxi outside the airport without having to wait as they were freely available and booking prior to arrival wasn’t needed. It cost €15.50 to get to the hotel, took 10 minutes. On arrival we couldn’t believe how close the hotel was to the Leaning Tower. Just crazy! We wouldn’t have realised the hotel was where it was if the taxi driver hadn’t of told us. Check in was easy. A lovely gentleman welcomes us and our room was available an hour early free of charge. A very welcomed touch with two little ones (7 and 5). We had booked the family suit and were blown away by the views. I thought I had booked the room with the upstairs level but was actually glad to have booked the one we did as it was very large and spacious. Two large rooms, two TVs, lots of cupboard space, a huge shower and bathroom. The fridge in the room had water coke and Fanta for free which was unexpected. Tea making facilities but no milk. Breakfast was taken downstairs in the cafe attached to the hotel. The food was ok, expensive if visiting just for a coffee but for breakfast it was plentiful and you picked what you wanted. It would have probably cost us €30-40 if we were buying the breakfast item by item. I have tried to think what I could fault about the hotel and there really isn’t anything, maybe the pillows were thin. I am so pleased I paid a little more and went with this hotel. It was worth the money and we woke up to a view we won’t ever forget. The hotel exceeded our expectations. Thank You!
We booked a family room which had two bedrooms, a real bonus and a very high standard. When we entered our room the leaning tower was literally outside, it was very exciting being so close. The hotel is above a cafe that stays open late enough to enjoy a drink in the evening when most of the tourists have left, and in the morning we got some great pictures before they returned. The barman when he realised we were guests from upstairs gave us a complimentary drink, thank you. A really special hotel that I recommend for all.
