The Hotel is a few minutes walk from the Leaning Tower which can also be seen from the rooftop bar and restaurant. All the staff were friendly and the reception staff very helpful - we were able to occupy the room before the official check in time.. The room was comfortable with everything that we needed. The buffet breakfast was excellent. lots of bars and restaurants close by.
Had a wonderful stay over the weekend, was a special visit as i was proposing to my girlfriend, the hotel could not have been more helpful and made a magical moment that bit more special. Great location, great food, very good room and will be re-visiting the hotel very soon
Yes, like other reviews mention this hotel does need lick of paint. I imagine 20-30 years or so ago it would have been very lavish but has started to deteriorate. However, the room was clean, nice hot shower, fridge in room - new towels and bed changed every day. The breakfast included was more than sufficient to set you up for a day of sight seeing. Its a city break - what more do you need than to get a good nights sleep and shower before heading off for the day. Perfect location - 3 minutes walk to the tower, 20 minutes walk to the main Train Station to get to Florence. Plenty of restaurants in the area - we would stay here again.
The room was priced right, clean and gets the job done! Not to mention, the breakfast was amazing. All you can eat hot and cold foods. Great location as well. 10 mins from the Pisa tower. Restaurants were right ouside just steps away.
We stayed one night in Pisa on a recent visit to Italy. The Grand Hotel Duomo has clean rooms and a great location near Pisa's main attractions. The breakfast was very good. This is the place to stay because of the new rooftop addition on the fifth floor, which commands 360 degree views of this ancient city. Come here to sit and comfortably enjoy a spritz in the evening and then stay for dinner. If you have a car, experience the small seaside town of Marina di Pisa, just a 15 minute drive from Pisa. Walk its lovely harbor for views of the Mediterranean Sea and enjoy a wonderful meal in one of its many restaurants.
Arrived at this hotel for a one night stay after coming from Florence, I was shocked as I walked into lobby. It looks as if it would have been lovely in it's day but has not been redecorated in decades. This hotel is clean but very dated. Our room had an excellent view of the Duomo and leaning tower. At night we could hear everyone walking down the street. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel.
The hotel could not be located closer to the Leaning Tower and the service is fantastic - especially when you are "lost" in the streets ;) The rooms are ok, a little worn in places, but you can feel how "grand" the hotel once was... The breakfast was ok, our daugther loved the pancake machine :)
Our room had a fantastic view of the tower, basic room but clean and comfortable. Set up a lovely piazza with plenty of great open air restaurants on the doorstep. Rooftop bar with a view to die for, worth an evening drink. Ideal central location for sight seeing and exploring the city. Good breakfast offering.
Arrived late due to a delayed flight, the reception staff were friendly and inviting, pity about the rest of the tired hotel. 9pm on a Saturday and the atrium bar was closed. The view was a buck wall a few yards away. Breakfast was a shambles, I refused to stay. The woman working there was unhelpful and didn't seem to have a clue. The smaller empty tables were piled with rubbish leaving only larger communal ones, we were ushered to with a rude dismissive wave of the hand, and even these weren't set. The only thing I can see going for this place is it's location to the tower, apart from that, there is nothing appealing. The bedroom door sticks so to close it you need to slam it, seems like it's the same with the adjoining rooms!!! This is only the first morning of three nights I've got booked here. A big mistake
Great location with roof terrace overlooking the central piazza but in desperate need of modernization. Stained and threadbare carpets in the corridors and grubby rooms and bathrooms. Certainly not a 4 star hotel.
