The hotel lobby and the lifts, and some parts of pool on level three smelled like a pile of garbage had been dropped on the place. Reception on checkin claimed it was the smell of lemongrass and when we rolled our eyes and said, thats not lemongrass, the other guests are complaining too, they said "we will let the management know". I understand now why the booking had been so cheap, I had at first thought we snagged a good deal. Pool on third floor and rooftop rundown. Hotel looked like it needed a maintenance job. Room was clean thankfully and comfortable. However, tripping hazard, a silly step at entrance of every room.
It’s unfortunate that upon arrival I️ was greeted with a sewer smelling lobby at this hotel. They tried to mask it with lemongrass oils which makes it even worse. The rooms are very dated with cheap sheets and beds are rock hard. It’s something about the AC or something that keeps the rooms damp feeling (meaning the toilet paper is usually a bit moist). I’ve stayed at this hotel in Australia so my expectations were high. There was no comparison and I️ wish I️ could have gotten a refund. The hotel staff are very nice and the buffet breakfast saved me from giving them an even lower rating. The pool is small and situated in a location where you don’t get much sun. I️ would never stay here again (as-is) and suggest you look into The Holiday Inn maybe that’s across the street. I️ didn’t see it first hand, but I️ realized after the fact they ranked much much higher than this hotel. I’ve traveled the world and this was by far the worse choice I’ve made:(
This hotel is in a perfect location right next to the beach a 2 minute walk from Bangla Road and jungcyleon it has an Irish bar and hooters next door and a little lavazza coffee shop on the front. The staff are very friendly and speak good English. The rooms are nice but slightly dated and we did have to ask for some chairs to be put on our balcony because they don't have any on unless you ask. The rooftop pool and terrace is fab. A very nice hotel I would happily stay at again
The hotel is in a very good location. Superb breakfast. Big rooms. Nice play area for kids. Very good and well mannered stuffs. The design of the hotel is very old. We had to walk a long way to get to the lift from our room. The hotel itself is very old. Its a very big hotel with numbers of rooms. Compared to that the number of cleaning stuffs are less. They are having a hard time to make the place tidy. The pools are very small. The main pool is adjacent to a few rooms which hampers the occupants privacy. Due to the high number of guests, check in and check out was very slow. There was no one to guide us to our room. We had to find it on our own. No parking facility.
After staying for 5 nights on beach side resort at Krabi we decided to go for Swissotel as it was located in the busy area of Patong....This was decided after previous good experiences in the past at Swissotel properties....The hotel is an old rundown property and badly needs refurbishing..The rooms are decent and spacious....The hotel is located within minutes walk from Patong beach....The breakfast spread is good and Chef Ryan ensured we had good veg food after we informed him....Thanking him for that....Decent wifi....Good Kids club but all activities were paid ones....The pool is quite small and I felt bad for the guests with pool view rooms as it highly violates their privacy....Please do not select the pool view rooms....
Hotel and room condition was poor. Front desk person named Kelvin was rude. Hope he can read this review since he challenged me. I should have stayed at holiday inn which is nearer to beach and better service. Beware if you book Swiss advantage view. I got a wall view. Facing the wall everyday.
The location of this hotel is very nice. It is closed to Hard Rock Phuket, and Hooters; on the other side is the Patong Beach. The hotel should have manage to repair the toilet thing so that the lobby won't smell like crap. The room is nice and clean, but don't expect it to be quite since there are a lot of mainland tourist stay here, and they are loud.
DONT BOOK THIS HOTEL - My room had no privacy at all, the window is 1 meter away from the pool, so everyone was looking at me when i was sleeping. (had to beg them to change my room) - They lie. No parking in the hotel.. Me and my friend got the hotel with a car, the security parked our car outside (and we asked him if we can leave the car until tomorrow, he said yes, and we paid him!) the next day we found the police locked the tires and put a fine in the car and we couldnt move it.. the hotel put the blame on us and said they have no parking, and they need to check all the cameras ( they thought we are lying) we had to wait for like one hour and a half till the police got there to remove the lock. - I had a visitor (my friend) and they asked for her original passport! Although she has her copy of her passport on the phone, but they rejected it and they didn't let her in.. really????? so if you are single and you meet someone and you want to chill with them in the hotel, DONT book in this hotel bcz they wont let that person in (I am shocked!) - Managers are not helpful and not friendly. - They don't clean the rooms at evening. even if you ask them to. - Some lights in the room don't work. - No late check out , even if you beg them for extra one hour.
It says it has free parking on your site, but that situation with police bill , i guess u know what i mean was very dissapointed, and please explain to you female manager that she have to be polite with any sex guest of hotel, not only with male, so unprofessional talking like we are at the market or in the bar accusing me in something!! The rest of the managers was very lovely and sweet, at least they took the mood up after talking with that lady manager..
I really loved the swissotel patong beach as it had an amazing rooms with breathing taking views at the top floor and infinity pool opened it 10 pm. My overall experience was quite relaxed and i will visit the brand swissotel anytime soon throughout the world.
