We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite, excellent sized bedrooms, and kitchen featuring full sized fridge. Pool access at our doorstep which was perfect for our young children. All staff were always very friendly, helpful & cheerful, the resort wasn't built yesterday so do expect natural wear & tear but no where near the dire comments I read from some other reviewers. Overall excellent value for money and I would stay here again.
The suites have living areas and kitchenette. It was great for families to gather to talk or play board games. We brought Nintendo Wii and it was good fun too. Price is reasonable but interior feels tired.
Our family of 4 stayed here for 6 days. We had a 2 bedroom suite with a king and queen bed and kitchen. The pool is large and good shallow area for kids to play all day. The hotel is a 3 mine drive to Karon Beach. Pros: shuttle to/from Beach, not many people use the pool, massage was good, big suite, clean, good shower water pressure. Cons: not enough shuttle service times, would not arrange for taxi other than own shuttle to airport, food was disappointing but is convenient when kids are tired, deferred maintenance around hotel, beds were uncomfortable (hard) for us.
Immediately upon arrival we were greeted by the staff and offered a welcome drink. We were then informed that we were being upgraded to a different suite which we certainly appreciated. Grabbed a bite at the onsite restaurant which was actually pretty good. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and decent. Location is pretty good also- 15 minutes max walk to town. The staff was exceptionally friendly and eager to help at every turn. Biggest complaint is that the facilities are just flat played out... paint is needed everywhere. Rooms were spacious and clean but just worn out. Shower faucet was duct taped(although perfectly functional)and walls in need of serious paint, etc. If ownership/facility management were to pay attention to some of the little details, it would make this a truly fantastic place to stay.
Phunawa Resort located a kilometer away from Karon Beach was supposed to be a luxurious stay at a 4-star resort but the experience was not so good. Though the property is well developed it is in need of maintenance. We had booked two rooms-the Two Bedroom Grand Suite and the One Bedroom Nawa Suite with Private Jacuzzi. We arrived to leaking faucets and a refrigerator which refused to cool. We had to complain several times to get the air conditioning working in the grand suite. The washrooms were very basic with no luxurious feel as promised and did not even provide necessities like bath robes, slippers or even toothpaste. The bed linen was also dirty and housekeeping would leave the floors dirty. The Nawa suite was slightly better but the Jacuzzi was anything but private with anyone having access to it and no pool cleaning whatsoever. Even the lights were broken. The less said about the staff the better-they were very rude and not courteous at all. Will definitely not revisit or recommend.
Ignore the old past it’s prime comments this is fine for the price you pay especially in Phuket and Karon . Staff here as already stated are the true asset of the hotel but it’s clean , water pressure is great in showers etc, pool clean . Food at nawa try once and breakfast same average but as good as most in this price range. Lots of use of the hotel taxi great drivers very prompt and the on site spa have amazing true masseuse that give great Thai massage. In all a great stay I stayed in a 2 bed suite with kids and granddaughter they loved it as did I . Ignore the negative yes I have stayed in much better La Flora for example in Patong is another world to phunawa but also several times more expensive !
I spent seven days at Phunawa and enjoyed every minute. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make you feel comfortable. One beautiful lady at the Nawa Restaurant, named Rung, made me feel extra special! A short walk to Karon, shuttle bus to the beach, just great. I enjoyed it very much and would recommend! Will definitely go for another stay and a swim in their beautiful pool setting. Andrea. Australia.
It was a short walk from town about 10 mins where there were plenty of bars and restaurants to provide sustenance ! Big clean room, lot's of Cable channel, fully equipped kitchen, big balcony and the best part is the private roof top jacuzzi pool. The staff were all wonderful, cheerful and always welcomed you. Would stay again, and would recommend it to anyone in Phuket.
Unfortunately this hotel seems to be well past it's prime. Needs a whole lot of love to bring it back. Many safety issues that of not rectified will be major issues in years to come. This resort seems to mainly cater for Chinese tours. Had to ask for maintenance to be done which is a shame because rooms should be checked that they are up to scratch before visitors come. On the plus side, if it wasn't for the awesome staff, this place would really suffer. The staff are amazing, prompt, efficient, very helpful and very happy which makes a huge difference. To the owners of this hotel, your staff are your biggest asset. My family and I couldn't fault them and they would be an asset to any hotel. This could return to glory but needs major love and not just a little polish.
Very friendly staff, great hotel, a little out of the way but great if you want to be away from The hustle and bustle of Karon. Only 15 minutes away from Patong if you want to party, about 400 Bart in a taxi. Would recommend.
