We had such an amazing time here. We wish the weather could have been better, but even raining a few days in a row, the resort was so lovely and relaxing. Staff were sooooo unbelievably friendly and the pool is soooo nice. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are very modern. If I were to be extra picky, I would have loved the pillows to be a little softer. If I could recommend anything, I would pay the extra and get a pool access room. We upgraded for a couple of nights and it was so gorgeous waking up and coming home to a pool right at your doorstep. The location is so perfect, close to the beach and market stalls right out the front. We walked the whole length of kata and karon most days. Short tuk tuk to local markets around phuket town were a highlight. Thanks so much for having us Metadee resort!

The resort was overall pretty. The room was nice and clean. The food offered at the resort was not good and expensive. There is wifi at the resort but it's very unreliable, restaurants outside the resort had much better wifi. The TV also did not work. Overall the resort was average, will probably stay somewhere else the next time we are there.

My grandparents and I enjoyed three nights at the Metadee Resort and Villas by Kata Beach in Phuket. The rooms were very clean, private, provided us with plenty of space, and we definitely took advantage of the private pool enclosed within our villa. Despite the wonderful rooms and other facilities, the service was not as great. The staff was willing to answer our questions, but the majority were not very attentive. Overall, our stay was enjoyable and I highly recommend the Metadee Resort and Villas.

Not enough good things to say about the Metadee. The resort is spectacular and very clean. The staff are incredibly friendly and hospitable, and the pool is stunning. Food is also top-notch. We booked a tour to the Phi Phi Islands through the front desk staff here, and everything worked out exactly as planned (we were a bit skeptical at first having had a bad experience with being given misinformation from our previous hotel). It's an amazing place to stay while in Thailand and we would go back in an instant.

Had a great time at Metadee, private pool villa is a must! Handy location if a little far from the street (but they provide a golf cart service). On site restaurant is lovely and we spent many hours at the bar drinking cocktails and playing Jenga. Spa also was great value. Cannot fault.

Great location, beautiful resort, and wonderful staff. Our favorite place to stay in Phuket. Spend a little extra and get a poolside room. You won't regret it. Also, rent a motorbike. Because of the location you are just a short distance from all of the beautiful beaches and tourist locations. We'd go again in a heartbeat!

Nice and clean room, really big swimming pool. Staffs are nice, helpful and cheerful. Electric mosquito killer in room, and almost not mosquitoes around. Ants everywhere, beware your food and drinks. Location a bit far from the beach, like 15 - 20mins walk from lobby. Hotel provide free ride to main street (any time) or beach (each hour), it helps a lot! This is my 2nd time in Kata, better hotel then last time.

So we have a torn opinion on the metadee. Let me start by saying that we travelled as a family of 3. My wife, 10 month old girl and myself, and we just wanted to lounge about the resort for two weeks, swim by the pool and go for the occasional stroll and do some shopping. Pros: The resort was quiet. During the day, most guests went on tours so it was very quiet... The resort looks stunning. Everywhere you go in this small resort, the view was beautiful, and it includes a mountain view with the Big Buddha up top! The staff were amazing. The staff were always super friendly and helpful, which they should be anyway, but they always went out of their way to come say hi to us and my daughter. Late checkout was available and we were able to ha gout and swim, shower and play at the resort all day as our fought was at 10.30pm. Breakfast was included and was simply fantastic. Cons: Bugs. We had ants, dragonflies, mosquitoes and flies everywhere. The resort done a spray of the resort on our last day, but our room was constantly being attacked by barrages of bugs... The access to the resort was via a loooooooong driveway. You can call an in-house buggy to drop you off and pick you up, but waiting in 30+ degrees for it isn't fun. The location for shopping is minimal, and if we had a choice, we would stay somewhere further north towards Patonga where the life is more vibrant. Safety - several hazards lay within the resort. They have steep steps in the pool that my wife went underwater with my 10 month old, as the drop was about 2 metres. Several of the Chinese tourists suffered the same fate. There was no shade by the pools. The flooring around the pool is vinyl flooring used in homes, and when wet it is extremely slippery and dangerous. To finish off with we were out on the second floor, which is a general room, however there are no elevators or ramps. This meant we had to hurl our luggage, pram, and shopping upstairs every time we went out. Very dangerous and rigorous. The costs of drinks is also high. I know that it's always more expensive in a resort, but considering there were many other resorts in the area, having cheaper costs would have kept us in the resort to eat and drink more often. One pillow was on our bed, with one key, in which we asked for an extra of both. and air-conditioning wasn't turned on for us upon arrival, meaning we had a stuffy, humid 30 degree room to roll into. The highlight of the trip was the staff. Would they have been rude, or disrespectful, I feel like that would have completed the negative review, but they were fantastic, and good customer service can go along way. Would we return there? No. Probably not. For the price of the resort, I believe you can get better value, if not the same, at another 5 star resort and receive similar service. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask me! :)

We have been to the Metadee on a number of occasions and regard it as something of a little gem. Great staff, great pool, great location. The hotel is relatively small, low rise (only two floors) and is on the quiet side, both because of its layout and location. It is set back down a quiet road, around 100 metres from the main area of Kata and its restaurants, bars etc. A shuttle is provided from the hotel to the main road. The staff are wonderful, the service as good as you will find anywhere. The pool, which wraps around the hotel, is very large and suitable for all age groups. The rooms are comfortable, quite spacious but possibly in need of some updating i.e. some additional drawer space, ceiling fan.

We did Bali and Phuket for our honeymoon. In 3 weeks we stayed at 4 hotel/resort and spas and Metadee was our last stop before heading home. That being said, I had 3 other places to compare it to on this trip (1 - 4 Star and 2 - 5 Star). The Pros: Close to the beach, a lot to do, friendly staff, gorgeous pool, decent breakfast (but not the best). Since the resort is off th road a bit, they have a buggy that will drive you to the main street and pick you up too. We like to walk so only used it a few times. The Cons: The hotel in general looked a bit older, fitness facility was fresh out of the 1980's with very outdated equipment, and our room had a mild ant issue that I learned about after bringing some of my leftover dinner home. We remediated it by just throwing out the food and squishing all the ants we saw on the area above the mini bar (not a major issue so we handled on our own). I think the last 3 places we stayed were just sooo amazing that we had much higher expectations for this place and were disappointed. All in all it was your average 4 Star resort in Thailand. I don't think we will stay here again considering that we paid less for a much nicer hotel in Karon.
