Room clean clean and tidy with maid service every day. Roof top pool ok but small . Your need taxi if want to go anywhere approximately £20 return. Free shuttle bus to sister hotel or 10 min walk up steep hill. Breakfast food cold every day as air conditioning on . Take jumper to breakfast. Staff very friendly
A wonderful hotel. Staff were lovely and always ready to help. Rooms were very comfortable, nice size, free drinking water was provided daily. Fridge and tea making facilities in the room. Two swimming pools, the roof top one with amazing views. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of it and such a wonderful variety. You have full use of the sister hotel and there is a complimentary bus between the two. The private beach at the Cape Panwar was lovely. Great sand and the water was so warm. Food at both hotels was fantastic. Each night on the road outside the hotel a night market set up. The street food was wonderful and so cheap. The gala dinner for new year was awesome our best ever New Years party! Would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to visit again one day.
Won’t bore you with the same thing as everyone else is saying as most of it is true. I’m giving this hotel a 4 for very good . For value for money this is an excellent hotel . The pool area paving could do with new paving as it’s looking a bit rusty and out dated and the bar is very small and a bit boring and isn’t open in the day. However you only have to pop outside or to the sister hotel for a bit more atmosphere but with the pound so weak at about 42 baht it can work out expensive, plus all hotel orders drinks/food have a 10% service charge plus 7% tax added so that’s 17% on every drink or food order so if your on a budget keep that in mind. For those who are on a budget there is a fridge hidden in reception area , bottles of coke 20p , bottles of beer for under a quid , this fridge saved me a fortune when chilling by the pool. What let this and the sister hotel down was the beach , it’s on a shipping lane that’s carrying fuel and you can only swim when the tide is in but you do get nice views of oil tankers (yuk). The hotel deserves a good review all the staff work bloody hard and are very polite and it’s cheap to book to stay here . But for me liking a beach like Puerto Del Carmen in Lanzarote, clean and crystal clear , the murky water and tankers at this resort has put me off returning. Still we had a great stay at the Kantary Bay over xmas and New Year
We were looking for a resort away from Patong, quiet, nice beach, not expensive, not too far from Phuket town and surrounds, great breakfast, clean and comfortable and view of the sea. We found it. We would rate this resort as a 3.5 -4 star. This resort ticks all the boxes plus the staff were soooo friendly, helpful and always happy. Pleasantly surprised. We arrived late evening which was not a problem for the staff. Within 10 minutes we were in our room settling in. Had a great view from our room on the 4th floor, left side of the resort with partial view of the sea from our balcony. The room had a small kitchenette inclusive of a microwave. Didn't use it though cause we ate every day but would come in handy if you wanted. The room was serviced daily and thank you to our cleaners cause the room was spotless on our return. Both pools, one on the roof with amazing views and the one on the lobby floor ( 2nd) were great. Towels always on hand and numerous sun beds and umbrellas. Not big pools if you are looking for that but very clean. Breakfast was not massive but had everything we would want in a breakfast and ample selection. We are vegetarian and we were happy as sum places don't have much of a selection for us. Always left breakfast eating over our quota. Bottomless cups of coffee and tea. Bed comfy. Complimentary water, shampoo, conditioner and skin location provided daily. Ample toilet paper. Put it this way, for a self contained serviced daily room at such a cheap price, we received more than we expected. Massive bonus for us. Never had to complain and request something that was missing. Outside the resort: right beside the resort are heaps of restaurants at reasonable prices and great food. Ate mostly at Sawasadee but also tried Blue Wave, Banra. Ate at the restaurant on the corner opposite the navy base but would not recommend this one. The food taste ok but the smallest portions ever at the same prices elsewhere. There are sooo many massage places along the road uphill located to the left of the resort. 7 eleven not even 5 minutes walk away. Phuket Aquarium next door. A lovely pop up market every night outside the front of the resort where you can find street food , clothes, souvenirs and other. Everything you need all right there and only a few steps away of the Resort. A spectacular view of the sunset every night. Can book all tours from the resort at the tour desk with Ola and there are always taxis available out the front if you need (don't forget to haggle the price). You can catch the local bus to Phuket town which is very cheap but last bus leaves about 3.30pm. From Old Phuket town, you can catch buses to other areas. The resort has a return shuttle bus to Old Phuket town(200 baht per person return) stopping at Robinsons then you need to walk about 10 minutes to Old Phuket townmarket ( there are 2 so make sure you as for the Sunday one) which I recommend you visit on Sundays which start at about 4pm. a couple of hrs is long enough. Many street food stalls and souvenirs and clothes. Bargins. There is a small beach in front of the navy base but for a nicer beach, just catch the resort shuttle bus (this is a continuous service between both resorts) to their sister resort - Cape Panawa Resort- just over the hill where you can use all facilities inclusive of the pool, sunbeds, towels, ect.. (not breakfast or room)- you need to pay extra to have breakfast there). Best time to swim there is high tide. The use of the sister hotel is an amazing bonus to the already magnificent cheap Kantary Bay Hotel. The best of both worlds. As mentioned earlier, this resort ticks all boxes and we will definitely stay here again if we get the chance. It is not suitable for those looking for action and to party unless of course you are willing to travel 45 minutes to Patong and pay about 800 bhat each way. Thank you all the staff at Kantary for a lovely xmas to remember.
I stayed at Kantary bay with my two children and husband. We really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere at the hotel. The staff was very friendly, the cleaning of the room was excellent and so was the beakfast buffe. In the evenings we enjoyed delicious thai food in the street and the restaurant Sawasdee right outside the hotel was really nice.
The Kantary Bay is a lovely hotel with very helpful and accommodating staff. It is situated at the southern most point of Phuket. The hotel has two swimming pools and is the sister hotel to Cape Panwa which is located on the opposite side. The hotels have an inter hotel bus service which runs between them and gives the guests at Kantary the opportunity to use their facilities. Given the chance and circumstances I would definitely return to this hotel at the stop of a hat.
Spent eleven nights here as part of a "Dream Holiday" created by Kuoni in Dorking. First impressions count and I was very impressed with the warm welcome, complimentary drink, food and drink vouchers and the icing on the cake was receiving a belated Christmas gift box for returning guests. I was blown away with the friendliness of the staff at reception. It felt like a very genuine welcome back to Phuket and the only disappointment was the room allocated on arrival. However this was promptly acknowledged by reception staff and the duty manager was very apologetic promising a much improved room from day three onwards. True to her word, I was upgraded to a much nicer room with a balcony that had a partial view of the Andaman Sea. The bedding was very comfortable and I was impressed with the relaxing ambience from day one. The Kantary Bay Hotel has some great facilities including a library for guests, two swimming pools, a bar and a restaurant. Guests have access to the Kantary Bay's sister hotel, the Cape Panwa Hotel at the top of the hill and it's amazing facilities including two swimming pools, bar, restaurants and it's own private beach! The Kantary Bay Hotel is ideally situated across the road from the Andaman sea which offers wonderful views. I would highly recommend you taking your camera to the roof top swimming pool and capturing some photographs of the daily sun setting which is awesome. I would also recommend visiting the Kantary Bay Cafe which serves excellent ice cream and quality coffees. A big thank you to all the staff at the Kantary Bay Hotel for making me so welcome and looking after me so well. I hope to return one day.
We have just returned from a 2 week stay at KBH. We can verify all previous positive reviews that this hotel is just lovely. We were lucky to be upgraded to a 1 bed apartment and the room was so spacious and kept so clean. The hotel is so charming as are the staff. The staff work so hard to keep the hotel spotless. They are all so friendly and welcoming. They are the real stars to the hotel. Stunning views across the bay from most rooms. The fact that you can use all the facilities of their sister hotel just over the hill by using the free shuttle bus is just the icing on the cake.
People ask why we return to this hotel (this being our 10th visit), the reason why – the wonderful staff, none of whom can be singled out for a special mention as all are fantastic from the gardeners who do a wonderful job keeping the gardens well-tended, the housekeeping and reception staff and the management who will assist with any problem - all are great ambassadors for this hotel. This visit we were on the 4th Floor with fantastic views over the bay and out to the islands with beautiful sunsets. The was room very comfortable with a kitchen area with large fridge freezer and washing machine, separate bedroom and large toilet with walk in shower and bath (hopefully one day we will to make it to the 5th floor for even better views). We stay at Kantary Bay as we like the relaxed atmosphere but we are able to use the facilities of the sister hotel (Cape Panwa). Here you will find a lovely private beach and staff who are on hand to attend your every need – Sandy never forgets Chang o’clock. There is also a fantastic restaurant, Panwa House, on the beach which is open of an evening serving excellent food in a wonderful setting, we tried the set menu one night and there was ample food for two people, for lunch you can eat at the Bamboo Bar on the beach which again serves very good food. Laem Panwa part of Kantary Bay hotel is good for fish/seafood and Sabai Sabai on the road to Cape Panwa hotel is an excellent local restaurant. Of the other restaurants in the area, we really liked James Seafood, a bit of a walk up the hill but worth it for the beautiful views and food and Sawasdee 2 just past the naval base for the musical entertainment. We also visited Otter’s Bar at the Cape Panwa hotel which has a nice outside decking area with ample seating and, once again, lovely views across the bay. It’s not a throbbing bar sort of area however if you want a relaxing holiday with lovely people give it a go. See you next year Kantary.
Excellent hotel with fabulous views. 2 nice pools and pool on top floor with jacuzzi again with excellent views. Stayed in 1 bedroom suite on 4th floor which was very nice and large balcony and kitchen facilities. Good buffet breakfast with great choice. Staff are very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Can also use all facilities at Cape Panwa, hotel on 2 mins away by shuttle which runs every 10 mins until midnight, has 2 polls and private beach. Ate at Top of Reef a la carte restaurant at Cape Panwa which was nice. Area has few restaurants and bars which is nice and quiet. Loved the hotel and location, will definitely be back.
