For my birthday, I decided to take a trip to Asia and stayed at Amatara in Phuket for part of the trip. It was very nice and peaceful, the staff was very accommodating and respectful. They even made my special day even more special by singing happy birthday for me at breakfast and bringing me a cake. To top it all off, after visiting James Bond island, I came back to find my bed covered in rose petals spelling out HBD, there was also a ‘delicious’ towel cake to complete the scene. The spa services were excellent. I spent 6hrs one day getting pampered, scrubbed and massaged. The ultimate detox spa treatment was well worth it. I continued to reap the benefits weeks after treatment. To sum it up, it was a great experience and I look forward to visiting Phuket again and staying at Amatara.
The views!!!! Amazing service!! Will be staying there again!
This hotel is A DREAM!!!!! Amazing staff, view, rooms and the overall hotel pool, entrance, etc. Friendly staff specially POP from the breakfast buffet, honestly best hotel during my stay in Thailand!
We stayed at a bay view villa with an amazing view of the bay and the ocean. The room was very spacious, with a living room area, bedroom, and large two sink bathroom. The highlight of the bathroom was the two-person bathtub with pillows, complimentary salts for the bath, a view of the bay, and skylights overhead. It was a very quiet location, and at times it felt like we were the only guests at the property. We saw many other guests checking in, so most people must choose to stay in their rooms or explore the city. The quietness was nice, since we were looking for a relaxing and more secluded getaway. It’s not the hotel to choose if you’re looking for a social atmosphere. The villa came with free afternoon tea and cocktails, which we took advantage of. The tea was delicious and came with an array of optional “add-ins” like sweeteners, ginger, lemongrass, dried fruit, etc. It also came with an assortment of snacks. It was a fun experience. We had our cocktails at Sun and Moon, which overlooks the ocean. It was perfect at sunset, with temperatures dropping a bit and a nice ocean breeze cooling us down even more. The staff were always very helpful and accommodating. We loved our stay at the villa and would recommend to others!
My husband and I stayed in Amatara Wellness Resort for 3 nights in January 2018. I wish I could stayed there longer, if I could. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great views, infinity pool with very nice lounge chairs and best views. Great terrace for a happy hour - amazing views. The room was refilled daily with free water, sodas, coconut water, milk, coffee and very good, loose leaf, tea and snacks. Breakfast was always very fresh, full of choices and plenty of fresh cut fruits. The beach is not too big but still it`s private and comfortable lounge chairs provided as well. We were very happy with our stay there. Grace and Danny from Chicago
Enjoyed my stay at this beautiful resort. Will definitely recommend it to my friends and Family.
I loved the room. All rooms are close to the pool, so convenient. They have a good variety of food for breakfast. We liked staying here
We stayed at Amatara for 4 nights in January of 2017. The hotel was very very nice but seemed to fall short in a few areas. High points: beautiful reception area; incredible pool area; great breakfast and good dinner options (though expensive); very nice villas-- worth it to get a private villa with pool. The spa is supposedly very nice too, but we did not purchase any services as we felt that the prices were quite high. They also upgraded us for free, which was fantastic! Not so high points: It is quite far from downtown and Pa Tong; we did not mind that so much as we wanted a quite vacation but did pay large sums to travel into town for dinner, beaches, and outings. At the hotel, there was limited beach area, and what exists is not as nice as we expected for the region. The resort is also built in a very hilly and plant-dense area. We were fine walking the hills but felt that it would be difficult to navigate for those who are not fit and nearly inaccessible for those with handicaps. The dense foliage meant lots of mosquitoes, which is not a reason to avoid the resort but a reason to bring some extra bug spray. Lastly, they boast "wellness" but even charge for their yoga classes. In the end, we did have a nice and relaxing time. And the price was right. However, I am pretty sure I will try someplace new.
This hotel is one of the best that I have ever stayed in. It is beautiful, clean, food is great, but the staff is the best I have ever seen. To help with bug bites they sent a nurse to check on me and even after they took care of the they sent me get well flowers the next day. In addition, my phone fell into the water on an excursion and they called many shops to help look for replacement parts as well as a bag of rice to help dry the phone, which worked. Saved my life.
We booked an ocean villa with a private infinity pool. The villa was amazing; however, we saw some insects in the villla like worms and small frog once, which wasn't pleasing. May be it's because the resort is in a tropical area. The views are amazing; however, there not really a beach where you can just go swim so that's the only downside I can think of staying at this resort. The food is ok too. Overall, really nice staff and peaceful resort.
It was an amazing relaxing experience with the private beach and the excellent staff it was a pleasant stay.
The resort is gorgeous, quiet and pretty well kept. Ocean view villa was amazing. Beautiful decor, peaceful and quiet. Staff was helpful. Amazing massage at the spa. Food was avarage considering the price. You probably don't need to leave the resort for anything other than a boat ride.
