I stayed in June 2017 for a few nights. I highly recommend this hotel for those looking for a quiet, charming, well appointed, comfortable, delicious stay. I felt so taken care of, the staff was wonderful. The room was very spacious, and i loved the leather chairs and very comfy bed. I wish I had time to use that claw foot tub. I would absolutely recommend Hermosa to singles, couples, families, business travelers, anyone looking for a more boutique experience.
Stayed one night to host a dinner in the wine cellar at Lon's. Check in was seamless and room was ready at 4 pm. Bellman seemed a bit scattered at arrival. I'd venture to guess he was new. Booked a King Deluxe Casita and was a room in the renovated section near the back. Room was spacious and nicely decorated. You could see the old and new but I was surprised to see some of the wear that was already apparent in scuffed walls, scratched furniture, etc.. Huge bathroom but lots of wasted space. Sink drained very slowly and shower water pressure was below par. Comfortable bed and nicely appointed seating area facing the fireplace for the winter month visits. Very tall ceilings with high windows and a large skylight. While they look nice and allow some natural light, they are terrible for sleeping in. The room was beyond bright at sunrise and there is no way to escape it. There needs to be a solution to block that light if wanted. Also noticed at least a handful of mosquito in our room the night of check in and again in the morning. This is a somewhat remote area but it seems to me that the door to the room is being left open during service or they are not spraying when guests check out. We thought the netting around the bed was decorative but it would seem it may have a real purpose. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. We did not use the pool area but although it was small, it looked inviting. Lon's for happy hour was enjoyable but some of the "local"s didn't seem to appreciate "new money" in their space and made it known a few different times. Quaint property that is out of the way and good to relax an detach from the madness. I had higher expectations overall based on other reviews and the reputation of the property. Would consider going back for a purpose but would not go out of my way to stay again.
My husband planned a celebration weekend for my birthday and retirement. We had stayed at the Hermosa Inn last year for another special weekend and found the accommodations and staff to be outstanding. We were not disappointed with this stay. The deluxe casita was a spacious and very comfortable room, the pool was quiet and refreshing, the meal at Lon's intimate and delicious. Could not have asked for a better experience!
This is one of the best kept secrets in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. It's almost like coming home. The staff is so friendly and attentive. The area around the property is great for walking or biking with views of some mega mansions. This was for our anniversary and our casita had a welcoming plate of chocolate covered strawberries waiting. Fresh baked cookies in the evenings awaited as well. Spoiled for upscale big hotels? Yup!
The Hermosa Inn is a little piece of paradise in Paradise Valley. We stayed here twice recently, for four nights at the beginning of our three week trip to Arizona and New Mexico and then again for three nights at the end. Its hard to believe that only minutes from the hustle and traffic of Camelback Road you arrive at the peace and tranquillity of the Hermosa Inn. It is situated in a very quiet mainly residential area with no high rise buildings around. As we arrived in the dark we did not fully appreciate the beautiful gardens and landscaping until the next morning. The grounds are a riot of colour from the beautiful flower beds. Having been checked in to a great welcome from Michele with cold towels, a fruit juice drink and cookie, on our first stay we were in a Rancho Room (No 142) in the new part of the Inn. This room was at the end of the row of rooms so very quiet with a great outlook. It was a very nice room in a southwestern/ranch type décor, with fireplace, a coffee maker, two comfortable leather chairs and a very comfortable bed. It had a large bathroom with walk in shower. The wardrobe was in the bathroom area and the in-room safe was on the top of the wardrobe. The only drawback to this was that I could not reach the safe but it was not a problem for my husband. There were two bottles of water and more cookies in the room. The water was replenished every day and more cookies were offered nightly with the turndown service. There was also a lovely little patio with table chairs, perfect for an early morning cup of coffee to read USA Today which was delivered to the door each day, and if you needed there are pastries and coffee in the reception area in the morning. On our second visit we were upgraded to one of the casita rooms in the original part of the Inn. Room 117 was a beautiful room, very spacious and light with a high wooden vaulted ceiling, Kiva fireplace, and French door onto the patio with views of the gardens. Again two comfortable chairs, large bathroom and this time I could reach the safe! The pool area was again beautifully landscaped. The pool is not large but while we were there it was not busy so we had the pool to ourselves. We were also impressed that both the pool and adjacent Jacuzzi had hoists to enable people with limited mobility to get into the water. There is also a fridge by the pool which is always well stocked with bottles of water and cold towels. We had dinner at Lon's one evening which was very good and served outside on the patio. We noticed that the restaurant was very busy every evening we were there with lots of locals which is always a good sign. The patio of the Last Drop Bar was also a great place for a drink either pre or post dinner. The staff we encountered were all extremely helpful and friendly with a special mention to Renae on reception who helped with our queries. The Hermosa is a lovely place to relax and yet only 15 to 20 minutes from Fashion Square and the Scottsdale Waterfront area. It was perfect for us and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a break in Scottsdale/Paradise Valley.
Last September we stayed at the Hermosa Inn and decided to return for another visit at the end of April. It is hard to believe that this colorful oasis is only a 20 minute drive from the Phoenix Airport! The impeccable grounds are spectacular, the rooms so welcoming and charming and the restaurant, Lon's, incredible. The staff are friendly and helpful. We received a lovely fruit plate as a thank you for being returning guests. I highly recommend The Hermosa Inn.
We ended our tour of Sedona and the Grand Canyon with a one-night stay at the lovely Hermosa Inn. We all wish we could have extended our stay. From the truly warm welcome and beautiful grounds to the luxurious yet serene casitas, we found a little piece of paradise. And if you're foodie, Lon's is not to be missed. Everything we ate - whether at dinner or breakfast had us ooing and ahhing. If recharging and indulging your senses is your goal, Hermosa Inn is where you should go.
This was our first stay at the Hermosa Inn. We were interested in a quiet, intimate setting (someplace too small for most conferences and too laid-back to attract most families with kids); the Hermosa Inn was the perfect choice! We stayed in a Deluxe Casita--very comfortable, spacious, and quiet with a nice patio looking out on a garden and nearby hot tub (which no one seemed to use--fine with us!). Our casita was less than a minute's walk from either their lovely pool (rent a cabana!) or their great restaurant, Lon's (excellent food and relaxing patio with plenty of trees and umbrellas for shade). Note that the Hermosa Inn is only a 20 minute drive from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and plenty close to shopping and other diversions in Scottsdale. We look forward to our next visit to the Hermosa Inn.
From the time you park your car, you realize that you are in for a pleasant experience. Beautiful gardens and walkways throughout the property express nothing but serenity. The casita was spacious, warm, and welcoming. The bathroom was more like one you would find in your home instead or the sterile efficiency you find in most hotels. The staff were all cheerful and accommodating and seemed as though they all truly enjoyed the work they did from the concierge to the cleaning staff. The food was so good and well prepared that we never ate away from the inn for the entire week of our stay. This is definitely the place to get away from a hectic lifestyle for a week of utter relaxation.
If you want an intimate, classy, tranquil setting with true Arizona historical relevance and lovely modern amenities, you should visit The Hermosa Inn. It's one-of-a-kind! The food and drinks are top-notch and Chef Pacheco is a 9th generation Arizonan. Great vibe and grounds with access to biking, hiking, shopping, and more. It's a wonderful place for a getaway or a staycation.
