Staff was very nice. Rooms are clean with comfortable beds and pillows Pool area and staff was great

One of a kind. Great location. Friendly atmosphere.

Location is good and so are the facility's However my room was stinkin from cigarette smoke from the next room. Upon checkout i told them and they credit me 150 for it. Now tell me what is 150 worth for a 4 day stay and each day cost 400 plus, its a joke and its very upsetting.

Had a great weekend was a little upset my wife couldn't get in the spa. But whatever it's all by appt so book ahead the staff we're the nicest people at any resort I have been to. My family like the concert and the fire on the patio it was really nice the only thing I would fix about my room was the beds wish they we're a lil bit more comfortable.

We loved the overall experience of the resort. It's always so nice to be able to leave your car parked and walk to pools, restaurants and even a real Starbucks.

The staff at the hotel were absolutely wonderful! The food delicious, the bedding exquisite! The gardens and pool area fabulous. There was poor quality coffee and coffee makers in rooms, had to go out for coffee, the rooms are lovely but not very soundproof and so I could hear the man snoring next door! and was awakened at 5 am with their wake up call. When mentioning these to staff they did all they could to make up for the inconvenience and was told there will be coffee makers in the rooms after Jan 1, 2016

Great Rooms, we had a nice deck too. Big campus. Short Drive to dowtown. Staff was very helpful.

This is a beautiful resort in a great location. The staff was wonderful, friendly and very accommodating making our trip great. Would definitly go back in a heartbeat.

Upon arrival at the JW Marriot Camelback Inn we were first told that the primary pool was under construction and that the other pool was a from the spa and only adults 18 and over could use it. I was very upset because 2 of my 3 children are NOT over 18. We were told that the only other option was to use the pool located in the other hotel down the street. (It was NOT in walking distance.). Although that pool was lovely, it was an extreme inconvenience. In addition, there was absolutely NOTHING to do on this resort. It was very hard to find anything on the resort. When we did find the tennis courts, I encouraged my children to play in the evenings. Unfortunately, the resort closes the lights before 10:00pm ( which is the time it says the lights will go out). Many times, the lights went out completely while in the middle of a game. Even the ice machine broke 2 days before our departure. My wish is that if there was a pool that was under construction, at least let the customers know beforehand. Vacation is very important to us. It takes place only once a year and to have this is just NOT fair. We paid a lot of money for our vacation and its very disappointing that the JW Marriot could not be trustworthy enough to till us ahead of time. Without a car, the other hotel pool would have been impossible in 107 degrees in the summer. We couldn't even sit out at night by the patio outside our door because there were desert mice that would run around as well as coyotes!. I would be lying if i said I was returning. The Omni Resort, which was where we were told to swim , had a much better set up. I hope in the future this hotel is more honest with its guests. Fondly, MariaElena

Excellent stay and better Sangria. What a great trip to the desert. I recommend using uber all over Phoenix since the cab rate is ridiculously expensive. Hertz tried to charge me $750 for a ford focus for 5 days. I ubered all over Phoenix and all the way to surprise for $150 total. The car rental is a rip off in Phoenix.

Beautiful location, great amenities. We borrowed bikes for a great trip pedaling around the local area.

Very nice amenities, clean, restaurants are on location, internet $, hotel is overpriced in my opinion, remote from other places of interest, no airport shuttle,

We stayed in one of the casitas. The interior was a little outdated, but the outside resort setting and amenities greatly made up for it. We were celebrating my parents' wedding anniversary and they even brought chocolate cake with a handwritten card congratulating them! Tried to take advantage of the activities they offered #bingo, cowboy singing, etc#. and they were all wonderful and family-friendly.

Hotel is full of everything you would need to retreat from a busy life: pool, cabanas, restaurants spread throughout the property, golf, spa... The rooms are very large, with balcony or a patio, fresh and clean, so nice when it is hot outside. The surroundings are beautiful, with lots of flowers and cactuses, birds and little bunnies hoping on the grass. Just beautiful !

The resort was absolutely amazing. Bad first impression pulling into the valet no attendant greeted us so we parked and walked the bags to the lobby where we were told to leave them and come pick them up after check in. Totally unorganized bell person operations. After this inconvenience checking in was a breeze and our front desk clerk was great and order us a baby crib to the room at the same time we arrived. The room was great more then expected actually and right next to the pool. Overall the resort was just what we expected for an upscale getaway weekend. Beware of conventions and businessmen on property everyday though.

Stayed at the JW Marriott Camelback from 1/31/2014 - 2/3/2014 and really enjoyed it. Note that the resort is VERY spread out and there's a ton of rooms so your room could very well be a block or two from the lobby. They do have golf carts that take some people around though. If you're a golfer there's a free driving range (and discounted rates) at a course nearby and a "chipping range" on the hotel grounds. Outdoor area is very nice with fire pits and live music from 6pm - 10pm. Food was a bit overpriced as it tends to be at nice hotels. Rooms are good. Nothing too fancy but nothing to complain about. Gym is a standard hotel gym, I think 4 treadmills, 3 ellipticals, two bikes, free weights up to 50 pounds and one machine. There's a nicer and bigger gym in the spa but you can only use that if you're purchasing some services from the spa. Nothing is really within walking distance except Camelback mountain but most restaurants/bars/shopping are within a 5-15 minute drive. Would definitely go there again.

While the restaurant and bar staff were friendly, and the location gorgeous, the room furnishings were tired and the bed hard as a rock. The bathroom had been completely remodeled with a lovely walk in shower, but no tub to soak in. Overall the resort was really beautiful and the outdoor spaces very nice - the room was uninspiring. So plan a lot of activities outside!
