Courtyard by Marriott Scottsdale Old Town3.0 out of 5.0

I'm a Gold Marriott Rewards member. I chose this hotel for a 3 night during my trip to Arizona. The hotel was in a great location(close to Old Town), very clean with excellent beds. Our room was very small for a Courtyard and there was a bad smell coming from the AC unit one night. These weeknesses would have really bothered me had it not been for Shannon who worked in the Bistro. She was exceptionally pleasant, very helpful and the kind of employee any hotel would like. She went over and above to make our stay pleasant and we hope the hotel rewards her appropriately. Unfortunately we can't say the same thing about the person behind the counter the following evening. Thank you Shannon.
Great location....easy walking distance to baseball stadium and Old Town. Staff was friendly and very cooperative. Property appears to be recently renovated. Pool and restaurant on site. Would definitely stay here again.
An average property in a good location. It's a very easy walk to Old Town Scottsdale. Pool is fine, hot tub is big. Bathroom is small. Across the street is a great place for breakfast or lunch, US Egg.
This hotel is above average for the typical Courtyard. I highly recommend it for the location, nicely furnished rooms, updated throughout, noise quality. Even on a busy road, you can get a good night's rest here. The pool and spa are nice as well but skip the cafe and head into nearby town by walking a few blocks for many nice options.
We made a last minute reservation and I mean last minute for an arrival in the middle of the night. So of course I wasn’t expecting an upgrade or any other benefits as a Platinum member. We ended up getting the last room so I was just grateful for that. Front desk at check-in was not overly friendly I would have to say. However, rest of stay was fine with no surprises whether good or bad. Only advice I would give to anyone that is a light sleeper is to understand where your room is relative to the main intersection where the hotel grounds are situated.
The Good - Less than a 10 minute walk to Scottsdale stadium and Old Town - The hotel has all the amenities of the Courtyard Marriott that you expect - $8/daily parking - Spacious room - It's across the street from US Eggery which has the best protein pancakes - Balconies available The Tolerable - "Enhanced" internet access was choppy on the third floor facing the front of the hotel - Street noise will keep you up if you're a light sleeper (I told the front desk I was a light sleeper but still got the room. More on the front desk later). - Pillows were too soft The Front Desk - Polite but I wouldn't consider them friendly or helpful - Though no one has ever told me if it's exact protocol, but as a Gold Elite Member, I expect to be thanked for my loyalty; that didn't happen - Also as a Gold Member, I requested via mobile app, late checkout and eligibility for a room upgrade. Front desk did not address either benefit to me. - I was not told of the hotel's amenities (such as hours for the Bistro, pool and fitness center). For example, I found out about the daily happy hour because I overheard a receptionist on the phone with another guest explaining the details. What you should also note if you're considering staying at this property is the responses from the hotel. Don't they all seem like generic, cookie cutter responses to you?
Good Courtyard just south of the "action" in Old Town Scottsdale. Only about 15 minutes to airport. Attentive staff and everything you would expect from Courtyard. If not an Platinum Elite there is an $8/night charge for parking because of it's proximity to Old Town. Nice pool and workout area.
We've been very pleased with Courtyard Scottsdale the few times we've stayed there. For us, the location was perfect. Old Town is only a few short blocks away, and this offers a place to sight see, shop, and experience several fine restaurants. The Courtyard staff are always professional (well-trained) and friendly; the rooms are clean. Their restaurant is well-appointed and serves the purpose when needed, as does the small bar.
I am a Marriott member, this hotel does not live up the their standards, my profle reads upper floor away from elevator they gave me room next to, room is very very small bed faced east west TV north. Upon returning to room on Saturday around 5 room was not made up. Only 2 glasses in room were not wrap just 2 glasses near coffee maker very unsanitary next time in Scottsdale another hotel
Convenient to Old Town Scottsdale and all that it has to offer. Hotel is clean, well appointed and the staff is very friendly. Rooms are large and clean. HVAC is nice in that you can set the fan to run continuously which helps at night since traffic on Scottsdale Blvd CAN be a bit noisy at times. Using the continuous fan to provide "white noise" there was no problem. No breakfast included at this mark - even for Gold Elite members - and parking is $8/day for all. Internet service is included and even the basic service is more than adequate. Eateries in the area are diverse and abundant. If you can't find something that appeals to your taste and/or budget you don't need to eat as you're probably dead! ;) Our large, light room had a balcony with small table and chairs and offered a decent, if noisy, view north towards Old Town and Downtown Scottsdale. We'll save this location for another stay when we're out using one of our timeshares.
