Beautiful, old building that lived up to its boutique atmosphere. Great (included) breakfast with attentive, friendly staff throughout our stay. Facilities appeared to need a little refreshing, paint job in room was not up to the standards of the rest of the hotel, but highly recommend for solicitous staff, great location, and comfortable, spacious room.

This was the perfect location for us to spend New Year's day and attend the parade. The front desk and restaurant staff were all super friendly and helpful. Our room was very quiet and comfortable.

We stayed in'The Aristocrat' and it was overall a fine experience but way too warm (couldn't adjust the heating) and the bathroom needed updates. If we were to return, we would probably upgrade to King bed as those rooms were bigger and clearly better maintained (such as 'The Monarch' where our friends stayed) which also had a bigger and nicer bathroom.

Overall hotel is ok, staff was friendly/helpful. The hotel is definitely showing its age and could use some renovations, but understandable given the price point in this area of town (don't go in with expectations of a luxury hotel). The main issues that lowered the rating are: 1). The shower in my room needs some TLC; mildew is present. 2) Our window was facing the dumpsters outback . I wouldn't have minded this so much except that starting at 3am they were being picked up and this went on periodically for a few hours, messing up sleep.

The staff went above and beyond when I needed assistance, incredible people. The street it’s on isn’t one of the main streets so it was pretty quiet. The room was comfortable and had all the amenities I needed, even plenty of shelf space in the large shower! Will stay here again.

Rittenhouse Square comfort

Great location and great place to stay. A B&B with involved staff and a commitment to guest comfort and convenience. New breakfast area holds just-baked pastries and fruit, besides juices and coffee. We enjoyed our stay - our third or fourth here - very much.

Sometimes I prefer a boutique hotel but this didn’t pay off. Overpriced, not luxury, not elegant, poor staff training. There’s a $34 per night extra fee for a disappointingly limited breakfast in a dirty dark bar, wifi, water and coffee. There’s persistent late night and early morning noise from bar patrons at night and the garbage truck/businesses in the am. Even though they asked about room choice and were almost empty, I got a small room with unpleasant drawings on the ceiling, no bedside table or lamps, cheap bed, smelled, closet wouldn’t close. Have to call front desk for temperature change. Didn’t diclose that they couldn’t turn on the heat, but only turn off A/C the first night. Brought a room heater the second night after switched rooms. Halls and stairs and rooms are confusing, without signage. Random and confusing light switches and outlets. Poor lighting. Elevator doesn’t go to all rooms. Front desk staff couldn’t recommend restaurants. Maid ignored do not disturb sign and started cleaning while at breakfast. Pros: Rittenhouse Square park is nearby. A lot of effort put into restoration decor.
