"We made our reservation through hotels.com (which we've used numerous times before). I had the confirmation and everything needed to check in. When I got there the person at the front desk could not get the La Quinta computer system to interact with the hotels.com computer system. I stood there for over 40 minutes trying to check in. There were at least 5 people in line behind me that were also waiting. At one point she said I could sit there and wait, but wasn't sure what the point of that would be other than to waste more time. She finally ended up cancelling our reservation and sending me out to my car to call hotels.com. When I called them, they had no idea what the problem was because on their end it looked fine. They tried to call the hotel, but no one answered. The person trying to check me in tried to call the manager several times, but got no answer. So I would say the staff was not trained at all in how to get past any computer cliches that might occur. At no point did she try to call hotels.com to see what the issue was. Very happy that she cancelled our reservation though. I called hotels.com and they got us into a much nicer place for the same price. Also, the La Quinta Inn looked very dirty and you couldn't pull your car into the front of the lobby because there were tiles falling down so they had it taped off. Very bad experience."
