Good location, clean rooms, clean bath, Metro Station 300m away, a lot of restaurants near the hotel, very friendly staff, breakfast excellent, no loud noise, all the hot spots are very easy to reach.
Overall OK but was surprised to find no iron and ironing board available at reception and none provided in the room. Also, at 130euro, for that quality of room and services, seemed slightly overpriced.
As stated and displayed on the site! Easily recommendable to other travelers, friends and family!!! I would go back again if the opportunity presents!! The siting and location is great, and it's easily located, and primed around the Central station area!! Good for both traveling parties and couples!!! Keep it up!!
I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It doesn't deserve a 3 star rating, its more like a 1 star. I had to endure this place for a whole week and I can safely say its the closest feeling you can experience to being in a prison cell. The room was so small that there was no room to put your suitcase flat on the floor and open it. So I had to move the stall that was in the corner and place it next to the other side of the bed next to the bedside cupboard to make a platform for it to sit on. Not that I would have wanted to put my case on the floor as the carpet was filthy dirty including the walls, it was very run down. There was only 12 inches gap at the end of the bed to get to the bathroom and as the TV was on the wall I had to limbo past it every time to stop hitting my head on it. Needless to say I did forget several times. Bathroom was tiny, shower was a tray with just a curtain round it the smelt of tobacco. The curtain did nothing to stop the water from going on the floor to had to use several towels to mop it up everyday. Only positive was that the bathroom was clean. Terrible lighting in the room, it was so dark and depressing I think if I had to endure it any longer I would have gone mad. Also I wouldn't think it would be too much trouble to have at least one channel that broadcasted in English even if it was just world service news, its not very welcoming for visitors from abroad. Breakfast was just ok, nothing special. Im so glad I didn't have to pay for it myself as it was a business trip. I have stayed in TRAVEL LODGES in England that are far superior. PLEASE PLEASE dont waste you money!!
Very nice room and location. Bit disappointed that on the ground you can hear everyone coming in and out of hotel. Staff are mostly very nice and helpful. Room cleanliness was very good. Would recommend for a short stay
The room was fairly clean, beautiful and comfortable however THEY RAN OUT OF HOT WATER so one had to shower with the cold one. The bathroom was very small as well as the room. I loved it though (great location etc)
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. the breakfast cost is 13.50 euro but the selection is poor and we had check the bowls for the cereal as many where chipped after 1 day we eat at the local cafes. the room was small there where 3 holes in the wall were something had been removed the paint was peeling from the ceiling above the bed and there was a hole in the toilet ceiling next to the fan and the cleaning of the room was poor.
Suitable if you just want to stay near big train station Gare de Lyon for a short time. For us, we came back from Nice and train stopped there. Then plan to go to CDG next day and so I picked this place. Receptionist is helpful and this place is more like immigrants neighborhood, speaking English is really helpful to tourists with cheap eats nearby. Room, quite spacious for Paris standard, a bit old but clean. On the way to train station, Rue de Bercy is a bit scary with homeless people, one broken car window and I will not take chance if I have to go to train station early or late at night. But next main street, Rue de Lyon is totally different with chic real Paris feel, safe and clean. So use Bastille Metro instead of Gare de Lyon and if you walk past Bastille monument, it is even better and you are in popular Marias neighborhood.
Too expensive for what you get; fortunately the location is top. very basic breakfast. Small room, not everything working how it should and not very tasteful. Friendly reception staff that work very fast.
The Timhotel Gare de Lyon is very close to the train/metro station and there are several small good restaurants around, including Place de la Bastille a short walk away. Breakfast is pricey at 16 euro, but there are other good, cheaper options in the neighbourhood. The room was small but clean and quiet, and wifi signal was strong in the room. Complimentary coffee and tea in the room, English-style, was a nice touch. Overall, a good deal considering Paris is expensive.
