Timhotel Paris Gare de l'Est3.0 out of 5.0

Timhotel is a well located basic hotel -just 150 metres from Paris’s Gare de l’Est station, and a 12 minute walk from Gare du Nord. There are a number of small restaurants and cafes nearby. The rooms are quite small- which is typically standard for hotels in central Paris. A lot of the rooms have been refurbished of late and are therefore modern and comfortable. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room. It is best to request a room at the back of the hotel as the road at the front is busy all day and night and therefore one is unable to leave the window open due to the heavy noise. If you are looking for a reasonably centrally located hotel near a metro station this is a good option.
I don't feel good here- On fourth floor with no lift as it had bags of builders materials holding it open on renovations floor. No air conditioning in our fourth floor room and it's hot outside! Stairs are covered in decorators paper and masking tape so no visible edges and dangerous as NO EMERGENCY LIGHTING! My partner is registered blind and walks with a stick. NIGHTMARE HOTEL- they just tell us that it will be fixed in an hour- it's 22.00 and this was hours ago
I have stayed here 3 times now, the hotel is clean and comfortable and very quiet at night. Opposite a pretty park and a short walk from the canal and lots of bars and restaurants. The staff are helpful ,, good choice for breakfast and a very central location, easy to get to from the Gare du Nord and walking distance to a lot of the sights. I will keep using this hotel for my trips as its such a perfect location.
We booked our family vacation through a travel agency and this hotel was an upgrade What a complete waste of money ! Location there is nothing close to this hotel that a tourist would ever want to see You will spend all of your money on taxis to see Paris Our rooms Size. The room is so small that only one of us can open our suit case at a time If both of us do then you cannot move or walk The bathroom is even smaller. Phone booths are bigger and roomier The shower is so small that a normal size person would have a hard time turning around in the shower without opening the shower door Finally the Air conditioner Paris was 85 degrees and our room was just as warm if. Not warmer. We called the front desk twice and they told us it was fine At night time it was cooler outside We couldn't open the windows because we were street side and the noise was to loud to sleep and even if it were quiet the LARGE BRIGHT hotel sign was right out side our window By the way the sign is probably larger than our shower !! Conclusion I WOUKD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE !!
Perfect room, very small but very comfortable and super clean. All rooms and bathrooms are being redecorated. Great friendly staff. Excellent breakfast buffet, with delicious croissants, a selection of breads, home made crepes, fresh juices... Gare de l'est station is a few steps away, with a direct bus to Roissy CDG airport for only 6 euros (bus 350). Many restaurants, cafés and boutiques around. Perfect stay. The hotel keeps it's 'family owned' atmosphere along the years for a very welcoming feeling.
Overall it was a good stay, the bed was very comfortable and everything in the roomwas clean and pretty new. I didnt like Two things: The lift is a little bit shaky and needs some improvement, and the breakfast was overpriced. Staff was proffessional and friendly and will want to help you when you ask.
Hotel is at a stone throwing distance from the Gare de I'est Station. Room was quite clean, moderately spacious and comfortable. The receptionist Mr. Maine was quite helpful and generous. Mr.. Maine changed the room originally booked by us when we pointed out that the drain in wash basin was choked causing water overflow. He also helped us to plan our city tour and guided nicely whenever we asked for it. on the other hand , other two people at reception were quite rude and didn't co operate with us. They gave us a cold shoulder whenever we asked for assistance. Moreover they spoke very little English and didn't even answer many times pretending that they have not understood what we said. This kind of attitude is completely unacceptable from an international hotel chain which is having guests from all over the world. Breakfast was included in our stay and food quality was good. The menu was same everyday so that was quite boring .There was a TV in the room but very few channels were available that also mostly in local language only. overall TIM hotel is a good choice for the budget and location.
Small rooms, but it is to be expected in Paris. Close to Gare de l'est (as the name would suggest), moving around Paris is easy as it can be with train and subway 2 minutes away. Beds are comfortable, room is pretty quiet and there are bread/coffee shop all around the hotel to fuel the mornings.
Stayed here only 1 night before going on to Versailles, as very close to Gare de' Lest station and metro. Completey walked past the building as hidden behind scaffolding when we arrived. A polite & friendly welcome and due to our early arrival our room still had an hour before we could get in, so they looked after our luggage & gave us a ticket & put in locked room, so we could go sightseeing, we arrived back late and went to our room on the 2nd floor which was in darkness and being renovated except 3 rooms, it was quite eerie, but once in our room it was ok, & had a phone to call reception if we needed to. The room was clean & comfortable & I slept well, the only negative comment I have is that the bathroom drains really smelled bad, but after being in Paris a few nights I think it is normal for Paris??? The reception called at the right time for my alarm, the breakfast was very satisfying & good start & the staff friendly and helpful giving directions & advising the correct subway to take & again kept our bags for the full day.
My friend and I stayed a week and was booked here through a third party travel agency. The room was small but efficient and clean. The hotel was under construction and construction noise was constant from 8 AM to 5 PM, which meant no daytime naps. There was also scaffolding along our windows which meant we couldn't even open the window for a little fresh air. Wifi, breakfast and other essentials were adequate. There is NOT a bar at this hotel as advertised. The most positive thing about this hotel is the location. It is around the corner to the metro station which gave us access to the entire city.
