For over 30 years I am a regular Accor customer having for more than 10 years an uniterupted Platinum status. In general I have never had any complaints as to the services you offer until my current stay in the Novotel of St-Witz of today and yesterday (reservation nr FJGLCZNQ). It started already upon my arrival yesterday evening when I had to wait at the gate for a very long time before someone was responding. I had the impression the hotel was under siege since I never experienced such a paranoiac behaviour at one of your hotels before. It gave me a very unpleasant first impression. Latheron around 19.15 pm I went to the restaurant whee I had to wait for an unusual long time before someone took the effort to accompany me to a table (there was somebody at the register but seeminly to busy to attend the customers). Once seated I had to wait over half an hour before someone came to ask me what I wished. In the mean time an elderly couple came sitting next to me, moving from the other end of the restaurant. They said to the waiter they wery moving there because they tought they would never be noticed otherwise...There were at that moment certainly not more than 10 customers in the restaurant. But the worst things still had to come... After having breakfeast in the morning an important customer (Veolia company) joined me at the hotel in order to visit together an important business partner based in the Fosses area. He left his car at the hotel in the meantime When coming coming back at the hotel at noon in order to have lunch at the hotel we found the gate closed. At that very moment I was in a telecon with a very important argentinian customer with respect to an important petrochemical deal. I rung in order to access. The receptionist asked me who I was and I replied I was their guest yesterday. She did not want to open the gate and continued to disturb my call with futile questions. My customer who was sitting next to me answered in my place. Finally the gate opened and whe parked the car. The manager of the hotel (Mrs Lotran I believe) came to the car with a man acting as a 'body guard'. My customer and myself felt treated like common criminals and we felt both humiliated by this kind of treatmendt. I was personally outrage having never been treated in such a denigrating way ever before. Such conduct one does not expect from the staff of a business hotel. On top of the bill Mrs Ltram insisted on charging my customer with a parking fee of 20 Euro! This practice I never have experienced from a Novotel Hotel anywere in the world! I belief Mrs Lotram wanted to show in a not very customer-riented way that she was the boss and that she could treat her however she felt fit....My customer explained her that he never had heard of this Novotel practice before (he is a French business man living in Paris). She nevertheless insisted on the payment. This only stimulated in a very strong way the bad impression we already had as to the way this particular hotel is being run. Of course we decided not to have lunch in the hotel.
I stayed in the hotel while visiting the parc Astérix and for that purpose, I think it is very handy. Nice and helpful staff, clean, good restaurant, good wifi network, bathroom is modern, easy and free. I liked the lounge area where you can have a drink and have a look at your child playing in the small entertaining area with some books, wooden toys and Xbox. On the negative, the hotel architecture is a bit cold and depressing on the outside, it's located near a national road (not an easy path way for runners like me), part of staff in the restaurant are not very warm (not rude or agressive but a bit cold), but I would consider minor things compared to the overall stay.
We stayed a night before taking the family to visit theme park "Parc Asterix" nearby. The hotel was entirely consistent with what we'd experienced at any other Accor Novotel we've stayed at in other countries. The receptionist and restaurant staff were polite and helpful ; the rooms were clean and comfortable ; the quality of food and service offer was reliable and reasonable.
This hotel has so much potential...lovely rooms, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms and ok location for our purposes but was completely let down by the bumbling staff and odd rules. We were 2 adults and 4 teenagers visiting Parc asterix and Disneyland. We chose to eat at the hotel two nights of our stay for convenience and both times the service and quality of food were a complete let down. On both evenings it took over 20 minutes to find a bottle of red wine we selected from the wine list. Three separate members of staff had to be asked and no one knew where to locate it! The food was not of a high quality and mistakes were made with the orders. The bumbling staff took ages to serve us, clear plates, etc and one night we left without dessert because we had just been forgotten. On our final day we planned to stay by the pool but had to pay 65 euros for a late checkout so we could continue to use the facilities only to be 'told-off' by the staff for jumping and playing in the pool and rocking gently on the ROCKING sun loungers! There was a private party eating lunch next to the pool and their needs were clearly put above ours! I have also lost count of the number of times that the reception staff asked how many were in our group and which rooms we were in, it was quite bizarre! Overall a disappointing stay due to incompetent staff 🙁
We stayed here on our way home from the south and found this to be a great location just of the motorway. Our room was lovely with the bed being extremely comfortable. The shower and facilities were great although there were no cups for tea and coffee and these had to be requested. There was a small pool outside (not heated) with seating around this and beyond there are very large gardens where you can stroll or play with the kids. The restaurant looked great but that's were it ended for me. I ordered the chicken dish which consisted of a chicken breast placed on a pile of cheap frozen vegetables with mash potato which was a small line of mash. The presentation was good but it tasted awful. My wife had a small glass of Rose which cost 6.50 and was very unpleasant, our children had a small bottle of sprite each which cost 4.50 each. Overall our stay was good but was disappointed by the lack of quality when it came to food and drink. Not really what you would expect in France. All the staff were friendly but not to bright IE I had to look for a member of staff to ask for a spoon for my child and when she brought it she gave it to another table and I had to find her again to ask for another, also the waiter dropped things whilst passing the table next to us and after clearing this up he shortly afterwards did exactly the same thing at the same table. Glad it was not our table as the other family did not seem happy. I did not complain at the time as our stay was a short one and we were very happy with everything else. We would go back here but would probably eat out.
We have stayed here several times and every visit is good. Hotel is convenient for Parc Asterix and for visiting Paris although having a car is a must. Rooms are well appointed and staff are always friendly and welcoming. Food is usual Novotel standard but families with young children may prefer a visit to the three minutes away MacDonalds in St Witz. Nice swimming pool and gardens make it ideal as a family hotel.
The hotel is really geared towards families visiting the nearby Asterix theme park, and they do a good job, providing a sofabed for the kids in each room as well as family activities such as swimming and ping-pong. But that was not the main purpose of my stay: I chose it for convenience, because I was visiting family living nearby. The price was so-so – not that cheap for a hotel that is not particularly close to either the airport or Paris. The rooms were very nice: large, well-appointed (coffee machine, a good TV), and with a different closet, bathroom, and toilet area separated by a door. For a family hotel with lots of kids it was extremely quiet. Our room looked over a green area with trees, which was pleasant. There were a few aspects that I didn’t like: you could only have one device at a time on the free wifi, there is no elevator, and the check-in was slow. Also, it’s a bit isolated from any other non-hotel restaurants or night life. Although there is a bus (*not* a hotel shuttle bus, but a regular transit bus) between the airport and a stop right outside the hotel, it would be wise to rent a car in order to get around.
We stayed 3 nights, en route to South of France, to have a day at Parc Asterix and a day in Paris. Perfect location and facilities for both of those activities. The hotel is billed as 4 star. The staff were lovely, helpful, etc but some of the details were not of 4star standard. We had to ask every day to be given cups to make hot drinks in our room - it was nice to have a Nespresso machine but surely proper cups would be as standard? It's so frustrating when you're only given one milk carton and one tea bag for a whole day for a room sleeping 4. We asked one day for some spoons so our children could have a yogurt as a snack before a swim and it was as though we'd asked to have our room for free!! Those elements of generous service were a bit lacking. The promised 'kids play area' was basically a video game console and some big cuddly toys. Having said that, the pool was great (if a bit cold) beds comfy, showers fantastic and secure parking all an important part of the package we were looking for. We'd come again if we were going to Parc Asterix.
I stayed there 6 days till 1.8.16 and I can say that the location is nice, the room is actually very nice, big and looks new with a new LCD. There is a very nice restaurant in the hotel and free parking. Also WiFi speed is pretty good. I will recommend this hotel for sure!
We stayed here for our 2 day stay at Parc Astérix. We found the room to be good and clean for 2 adults and 2 children. The staff was friendly and helpful. A wide variety of restaurants is available 2 minutes away from the hotel. This hotel was perfect for a family stay as we were only using it as a base.
