In one's life there are, I find, a few places ('spots of time') the memory of which renders one especially inspired, fully satisfied, at peace. For me as boy growing up in 1950's affluent West L.A., it was my great Uncle's summer home on a pristine lake near Charlevoix, MI: mentally year 'round I never left this lake which I personified and called to mind whenever troubled. Later it would have been the memory of coming into Newport harbor from an ocean sail, the dusk sunlight flecking the waters surrounding Lido Island, the smell of diesel and sea water. Later still at school, it was the early evening clock punctuated silence of the upper reading room of Oxford's Bodleian Library, where one read in the company of P. B. Shelley, et al. But for a long time now, the Proustian moment has been early morning in the Meurice, my wife of 50+ years of marriage still asleep in the bedroom, me pulling the living room curtains back just a bit, sipping my diet Coke ('with lots of ice') and looking out over the Autumn dressed Tuileries to glorious Paris beyond. Every morning now wherever I awake and want briefly to slip from the Purgatory of habit, of daily routine into Paradise, it's the Meurice that does the magic. The Meurice is a hotel which, more than any other I have ever known, that returns your love for it tenfold. I have only to think of our favorite person there, the inimitable concierge Anouck, to be reminded that one has only to start making a request of any staff member to notice in a flash a smile saying "yes, of course we will make that happen for you". There are many handsome buildings, lovely rooms, beautiful symmetries and colors in Paris, but none that offer one, in its location or aesthetics, or services the little glimpse of heaven as does that of the Meurice.
I enjoyed so much staying in this wonderful hotel. The suite i was on has a balcony with incredible view and easy to see the Eiffel tower. Everything was more than i expected. The comfort of the bed, walk in closet and the free complimentary cookies, dates/figs and fruit plus juices. Very quiet hotel and relaxing. I strongly recommended staying in this hotel :)
We stayed at Le Meurice with our family, 6 adults and 5 children to celebrate my husband and my 50th anniversary. The only negative was the first room we were given was not in line with the rate we were paying. But after that was sorted out our stay was perfect. I especially want to mention that most of my family are gluten free, due to celiac disease. In addition one of my grandchildren has severe peanut allergy. The hotel were wonderful in handling this and hence we felt very comfortable dining very frequently in the hotel during our 8 day stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and the beds very comfortable. The bathrooms were great and it was very clean throughout the hotel. The breakfast room is exquisite and the food perfection. Le Meurice is grand, historic and the perfect location. All in all fabulous.
Elegant and stylish hotel in the heart of Paris. Easy walk to Tuileries gardens, Louvre, Musée d'Orsay, and more. Staff is incredibly professional and friendly. Lobby bar feature live jazz (piano and bass) and feels like a hideway adjacent to the two first floor restaurants. We stayed in a junior suite (room 328) and it was first class. Definitely not for the faint of wallet (this was a very special occasion) but if you are looking for a five star Paris experience I cannot recommend it highly enough.
The hotel interior decor at the lobby and restaurants are nice. The concierge is helpful. And that’s pretty much is all the ‘5-star’ experience I got To start with never settled for a room on the first floor. The window view facing a roof top, and that’s all. In the entire room, there’s only one extra socket in the bedroom near the bed. There’s absolutely no socket near the desk, unless you want to charge your phone in the bathroom. And the shower is so weak that it cannot flush off even the loosen hair on my shoulder. The worst is my friend who paid exactly the same room rate with her room on the fifth floor is much better - at least there was external socket on the desk Then the elevator door always jammed keep close then open for a few times before it can be closed completely. told the manager who told me it’s like that. Services in the restaurants were so average comparing to other luxurious hotels such as Raffles and Ritz. Like in breakfast, one morning they would bring out the entire breakfast set at the same time; the other morning you need to remind them what’s missing The most ridiculous incident was at the door we asked for a taxi in the morning of Oct 9, and the doorman asked us to fetch a taxi ourselves and told us that the taxi stand is around the corner. Even if he didn’t know if we were hotel guests, he could have asked first
Just back from a quick stopover in Paris to view the superbly refurbished suites at Le Meurice. All of the newly-restored suites give you the whole of Paris within one enchanted gaze. The Belle Etoile Suite is the cherry on top of this divine renovation. This seventh-floor penthouse suite is quite simply spectacular. More detail to follow in our Paris Dossier for LTI members.
Wow. Just Wow. From the accomdating staff, beautiful well appointed decor, comfy beds, black out shades, gorgeous bathrooms, the "cleaning fairies", whom somehow everytime we left.....we came back to a perfectly primped & clean room. The soft towels, awesome sheets, great location.. honestly I could go on and on. But you get the point. Unreal Our stay was perfection in every way. We stayed 4 nights & the level of service was so impressive! The dining rooms & bar are wonderful. 5 stars all the way. Def deserve to be part of the "collection".
Stayed 22 nights. Must be in the top 10 hotels in the world considering rooms, service, dining and location. Truly enjoyed the leisurely breakfast served one course at a time in an elegant room modeled after Versailles. Every element of service was perfect. Staff were friendly, helpful and professional. They truly cared about the needs & feelings of their clients. A very kind team of people. We were carefully watching our diets so did not dine In the Alain Ducasse’s Michelin 2 Star restaurant but definitely will at our next stay.
This is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at! The service is second to none. The team is very attentive, highly skilled and very devoted. They simply deserve every single accolade. The breakfast room is beautiful, the service is impeccable and the approach of having breakfast served to the table is highly valued. Tea time is very refined same as the dining experience at one of Alain Ducasse restaurants. This hotel deserves to be shortlisted among the best in the world. Trust my words, I’ve been around and they are elite in all means.
İ visit several Dorchester hotels, en they are all not good in service, use to be difderent. Le Meurice paris staf is lazy, the bar staf is worse. Hotel is not clean. The food is very good! Bar pianist also not good
