Helpful and friendly staff. Great location. Our room for 3 persons may be was a bit to small... anyway we came to Paris not to spent our time at the hotel! Spacious, very clean and recently renovated bathroom was a huge bonus:)
3 day stay in Paris. We, as common mortals, wanted an hotel that we could sleep, that wasn't too expensive and that was clean (one of the big problems with the cheapest hotels). We found Villathéna and the reviews were nice... Booked it. My review: when we got there, the staff was SO friendly! They had us at "hello". When we got to the room, however, we thought that was smaller that what we saw in pictures, but nice ! it was for 2 nights only and, the most important part: SUPER CLEAN ! Uff! we were relieved! The breakfast was nice, you could ask for bacon, eggs and other hot foods that the lovely miss would cook for you. When leaving, we had time for one last visit to the city - they kept our bags and even printed our boarding passes :) All in all, it was a very nice experience. The location was nice, very close to Ópera and Galeries LaFayette and you have some cafés and restaurants very near (including McDonald's and Burger King). Also REALLY close to the metro station. Reccomend It ! :)
The hotel is situated quite close to the Metro (Gare St. Lazare) and the shopping district. The room is quite spacious (I received the corner room), and is well maintained. The staff are very friendly and eager to assist, making the stay comfortable and easy.
We had very terrible stay in the hotel. On the first night, we found out that the bathroom door was spoiled (totally cannot close at all) and informed the reception the next day afternoon at around 12 pm about this. The reception told us that he will send someone to check it. Unfortunately, upon our return to the hotel at 8pm, the door is still the same and we called the reception and the reception told us that he is the first timer and just a replacement, not a permanent staff of the hotel. He asked us to wait till next morning. This appears to be ridiculous that the staff on duty is a replacement and he is the only staff in the hotel throughout the night. On the next day, the manager offered us to change to another room (from 205 to 204) as the bathroom door cannot be fixed. When we moved into room 204, the house-keeping had just cleaned the room and we found out that one glass was missing and some items in the mini-bar were missing as well. We informed the house-keeping about this that these were not consumed by us as we just moved in. We checked out the next morning at 6am to catch our train to London, and the reception told us that we have incurred additional charges such as minibar and make phone calls. We told him that we just moved in yesterday at around 2pm and we didn't consume anything from the minibar and we didn't make any phone calls. These must be the expenses incurred by the previous guests. The reception told me he doesn't know, and again he is the first timer there (wonder the hotel change employee everyday)and he just relied on the record in the system and refused to listen to our explanation. I asked him to check when the calls were made to prove that the calls were not made by us and he refused to listen to us as well until we asked him to call the manager immediately to check. We will not pay for the expenses that are not incurred by us. This is unfair to us. Clearly, this is the hotel's mistake in updating their system and record. This nearly caused us to miss our train to London. It is highly not recommended to stay in this hotel in Paris. With this rate, there are plenty of better hotels in Paris with better service, location and room condition. For those who still decided to stay in this hotel, I wish you good luck that you didn't encounter any issues in the early morning or at night during your stay as there is no one in the hotel that could assist you and you also run a risk that the hotel might charge you extra expenses that are not incurred by you.
Staff was very helpful whenever approached. The room was clean and comfortable. I asked for a water boiler and got one. The breakfast service was also good. Jaya is very nice and was more than willing to accommodate our requests with pleasant attitude and a beautiful smile.
Excellent location friendly staff ! Room was very clean and well designed. The staff was very welcoming at the arrival nd the departure, the hotel is very close to the train station and metro. Taxis are parked right next to the hotel street.
I usually stay in top hotels around the world 4* and above through work but Hotel VIllathena made a 3* as enjoyable as any. Staff were friendly and rooms were clean. We had the executive room on the highest floor. Room was spacious and very clean. Stand out staff Gia "I think" the indian lady was excellent as well as the Indian man at the reception. Very polite and well spoken. Breakfast was ok but could be better. Also a little advice, please fix the cracked glass at the main door because it the first thing customers see and it doesnt do the hotel any justice on first impression. Thanks for the quality service
We stayed here specifically because it was very near the station which you need to head to Vernon station to visit Monet's house and gardens in Giverny. Check in was effortless, room and breakfast price through Expedia excellent. Room size was compact but beds very comfortable! Breakfast was a typical continental one. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. We tried the one a few doors down if you turn left out of door. See separate review. Staff were really helpful although they did forget our wake up call on our first day so it was good I had set an alarm too! We would stay here again!
Nice central area. Amazing staff who were both helpful and friendly. Glorious bed and shower!! Rooms are a bit small for two (if you have big luggage), but really... who goes to Paris to sit in a room.
In summary: nice hotel in the heart of Paris. Rooms: very clean and full equipped. The hotel has a great advantatge: provide big rooms, specially interesting for families. Staff: very attentive and friendly, specially Miss Jaya (breakfast's waiter). Totally recommendable !!!
