Novotel Paris Gare De Lyon

Location Hotel is literally next door to the Gare de Lyon train station. If you are planning to go to Disney, you literally go downstairs in the train station and hop on the RER. Once you arrive Disney, you can see it, it is steps away. Regarding other remarks about the surrounding area not being so nice, this is in reference to the street immediately across as it's a hostel. Not a big deal at all. Staff Very friendly and they printed my Disney tickets for me (if you purchase online you have to print them). Food The kids wanted room service and this was the first time I've had food at Novotel aside from breakfast. It was excellent, not what I was expecting. We had the cold cuts plate, salad and burger, all good and fresh. Room Typical Novotel, modern, streamlined and clean (however if you want fresh linens you have to request them at the front desk each day). This room had a pullout sofa for the kids. The AC did not work that well.

Clean and tidy hotel 1 min from the station. Our standard room was pretty spacious clean and tidy. Bed was a decent size and pretty comfortable. Only gripes are: Don't like paper and plastic cups. No mini bar. Only one bottle of water for a double room.Could have rung for more but why not 2 bottles to start with? Didn't like glass panel between bathroom and bedroom. Any visit to bathroom in the night illuminated the bedroom. Not enough breakfast tea.One between two and only 2 tiny milks per day for 2 people. Even after writing a request (in French) we didn't get any more. Having said all this I would return but I would take drinking glasses and China mugs and request extra tea and milk on arrival.

Good options when you travel with kids. Rooms modern and big. Swiming pool - small but nice and a good break for kids. Very good location - easy to travel to Disneyland and to other Paris destiantions. The only minus is breakfast - not too big selection & shortage of food.

My stay was very pleasurable and the hotel in in a very convenient location. The room was bright, nicely appointed, clean and well kept. My only comment would be that I had to ask twice for plastic cups for my room on two separate occasions, and there seemed to be a shortage of food at the breakfast buffet. Eggs were in short supply and the juices were always low or empty.

Novotel has become a staple for us. Whenever we travel to a city destination we always opt for a Novotel. The room was impeccably clean, modern and comfortable. We stayed in an executive room, it came with a Nespresso Machine, and the mini bar was free. The hotel itself is just outside the Gare de Lyon, so getting to the hotel from Disneyland Paris at night with 2 children was very easy, and we did not need to drag our bags for long. The staff was super helpful, and they gave our kids a welcome gift on arrival. It's a great family hotel.

We had booked a Family Room (Interconnecting) but upon arrival they insisted that we had booked two separate adjacent rooms. We accepted this because they gave us an early check in upon request so it was great. PROS Rooms were neat and clean. Very very close to Gare de Lyon station so travelling was easy. CONS They blocked 320 euros on my card as a deposit (If we used the hotel services like spa and all) We didn't use any but till now we haven't received the credit and even after calling Novotel 5 times, it's been of no help. They keep saying it will appear in a few days of time but it's been too long. The view wasn't great, it overlooked construction work.

I stayed with my family for one night in the hotel , it was next to gare de lyon stations. So was easy for us as we were transiting using trains. The hotel was ok. The rooms are not sound proof. I could listen to all noises from next room through the interconnecting doors which were of course locked. So noise was a problem. You can get taxi and buses easily from here . It is away from central city ....not many good places around.

Stayed there for one night. The check-in process is rather disorganized and relatively slow but survivable. The room we got is very nice. Couple question I have are why do you need a transparent (but dimmable) wall in the shower, and where do I get hand soap (the only one I could find was in the shower). The view from the room was at the Gare de Lyon covered in scaffolding but windows are good so you can't really hear trains or scooters outside. The hotel entrance is close to the station. You just need to get to Hall 2 and get out from there, otherwise you'll need to squeeze through a million of parked scooters if you exited the station from the main exit. Internet worked OK. They have a gym with a handful of machines and a very warm pool but we ended up not using either of them. I will probably stay again at Novotel if the price is reasonable.

Room size, layout and cleanliness were all great - modern with plenty of room for suitcases. Reception was quick and efficient (we used the fast check out for the first time and this worked well). Lovely to have a 12 noon checkout and luggage storage room for afternoon travel. Breakfast in the breakfast room was below standard but this was the only fault we could find.

Am currently staying for 5 nights we have a deluxe room is not bad but not really 4* as I would expect Pros comfortable bed, waterfall double shower - I note another reveiwer commented on the glass partition there is a button in the shower to frost the glass. Buffet breakfast is ok even supply gluten free bread, rooms are clean modern and hotel has a pool although small only really suitable for a few kids. Cons - location - when we arrived outside the front entrance were a couple of groups of Imigrants gambling, during the day the square is used by skateboarders drinking alcohol and the front pillars to the hotel are used as urinals and smell is awful especially as weather is warm., there are a lot of homeless in the area. Rooms are cleaned daily although bar glasses are not collected and tea /coffee is space also cups /glasses in the room are paperandplastic more inline with most 2* hotels. Hotel is conveniently situated and staff are friendly.
