A great place to stay in Paris. I can recommend this to all visitors, be it private or on business The rooms are tiny, with an even tinier bathroom. But what counts: Very clean Very friendly staff Very good breakfast In a quiet neighborhood. Over all at a (for Paris) bargain price I'll come again!
If you don't mind taking the MTR to the city centre, the hotel Sophie Germain will be a perfect pick! I went there last July by car to visit Paris for the 2nd time and at first, I was a bit afraid that it would be too far from the City centre. First of all, the parking is no problem. You can find a place on the street or ask the hotel (they will charge you). Then, the hotel is around the corner of a subway entrance and if you like walking, you can enjoy a lot of places that you would never see if you only stay in the city centre. We went walking to the asian district for some food. It was about 30min walking from the hotel. Anyway, we were welcomed by friendly staff (all of them) and the hotel looked very modern and most important, the room was clean and the bed was just perfect for a hotel! When I visit Paris again, I would probably visit this hotel again!
As I said, it's a charming and cosy hotel. Close to the metro and boulevard Montparnasse Almost downton and not far from Louvre. I recomend it to my frinds And you'll be welcomed by the charming Sofie.
We stayed about 5 days at Hotel Sophie Germain during our visit to Paris. The room and overall hotel is somewhat small, but comfortable and clean. Our room had enough room for two of us and multiple pieces of large luggage. They included a complimentary bottle of champagne in the refrigerator which was a nice welcoming touch. One odd thing we were asked during our stay was to give the room key to the front desk whenever we left for long periods – this may be due to only having on key for the room to allow them to clean but overall it was no impact on our stay. As for location, it was about a block away from the Paris Catacombs entrance which was extremely convenient when we visited that on our last day (get there by ~8:30AM to avoid a huge line when it opens at 10AM). About half a block from the Hotel is the Mouton-Duvernet Metro Station that made access to the rest of Paris extremely easy – during our stay we got the unlimited Metro pass which made life extremely easy! As for things nearby the hotel, there were plenty of restaurants, convenience stores and shopping. Just over a block away are two good bakeries, Paul and Le Pain au Naturel right in front of the Paris Catacombs. Our first night we got in late and went down the block to Les Jardins Contini and got a delicious Pizza to go. Parking was around the corner accessed off the main road in front of the hotel (Avenue du General Leclerc) just prior to turning onto the road in front of the hotel (Rue Sophie Germain). The entrance to the parking is two blue double doors between babaO and Saint Algue with the words ‘Boxes a Louer’ above them. You’ll need to get the clicker from the Hotel to access the parking but you should definitely drop your luggage at the hotel prior to parking – there is no elevator in the parking garage. The garage is extremely tight and the Hotel’s spots are on the very top. Access back down is via a tight, circling stair case.
Great location, with shopping, transit, restaurants and cafes all nearby. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and quiet, and the breakfast is lovely. This hotel is a nice discovery. Don't miss the florist on the corner!
The hotel is located close to the station and it is very convenient. But it is also located in a quiet area. The room is relatively spacious compared to Paris standard. The design of the bath room is new, but it is comfortable.
Booked for a business trip as meeting hotel full. What a find - Room spotless comfortable and quiet while not large size was adequate as was breakfast. Close to some great restaurants and very helpful staff will certainly use again if staying in Paris. Also close to RER from CDG made travel easy and a part of Paris that felt safe to walk at night
There seem to be countless Paris hotels with overly small rooms, bland breakfasts, and malodorous bathrooms. The Hotel Sophie-Germain is a very welcome exception. The decor is attractive throughout, and I was especially impressed by the smart bathroom. Although the lift is tiny, the room itself did not feel claustrophobic; in fact, it was nice and quiet as it was at the back of the building. The street too is rather quiet, and there are agreeable strolls in all directions. The hotel is close to Denfert station, so well situated for RER line B etc. You can probably find a cheaper place elsewhere, but it isn't easy to locate a hotel in this bracket with such a warm welcome and smart appearance.
We stayed at this hotel for a week in April. The staff is very friendly, professional, and helpful--especially Jacques, who offered excellent suggestions to a couple of Paris newbies. The hotel is on a small, quiet side street in a neighborhood that is generally less busy than the others we visited while there. It makes a nice retreat after a busy day of sightseeing and shopping. It's very convenient to the metro--half a block from the Mouton Duvernet station (4 line) and an easy walk to several others. Our room offered a nice, small balcony facing Rue Sophie Germain. The rooms are (as we understand is typical for Paris) small. Ours, on the top floor, had room for the full-size bed, bedside tables, a small table with a mini-fridge tucked underneath it, and two nooks for clothes, and we were told it was one of the larger ones in the hotel. The bathroom was tucked in under the slanted roof and as a result it was a bit larger than some of the others described here, but had no room for a shower--only a bath with a flexible spray attachment. There is air conditioning, but I wouldn't expect it to be super-effective during warm summer months especially on high floors. We both like sleeping in cool rooms and found it more effective to sleep with the window and balcony door open. Wi-Fi was typical hotel free Wi-Fi--adequate for basic map searches and checking email.
good place to stay near a metro a bit pricey but affordable near nice restaurants many eating places to go to after dark might consider since RER B line is there. good to travel to airport highly recommended for people travelling to paris many times
