I spend two nights in this hotel Malar. Very friendly staff. The room a very simple and the tiles on the floor were not complete. Also very noisy. But i needed a hotel in this part of Paris for business and a reasonable price. All in all i had a good time here.

I chose this hotel for position and for the photos on the website. It is a quiet, clean and comfortable place to stay. The room was small but the bathroom excellent. I would have appreciated air conditioning and coffee/tea making facilities in the room but the ambience of the place was great and the overall experience very good.

Great location. Close to Eiffel, Invalides, shops, cafe. Staff are nice and friendly. Rooms are clean. There are a lot of restaurants around. It is also close to Bus Stops and Metro if you plan to do that.

This is a fabulous location. Although it was a crazy day when I arrived, Paris had just announced being selected to host the Olympics and traffic was a nightmare. I was immediately welcomed at the hotel and even though my room wasn't ready, I was able to store my luggage. The young man at the desk spoke excellent English and was very helpful. When we returned from sightseeing I discovered that we were on the top floor climbing very steep and very narrow steps. Although I got help with my luggage (couldn't have made it otherwise) it was amazingly hot and the steps were too much for me. The staff went above and beyond and found a fan but the 95 degree heat combined with the steep stairs was almost too much for me. I was aware that there wasn't a lift but did not know how difficult it would be for me negotiate the stairs. Completely my own misunderstanding, that being said , the young lady at the desk went above and beyond to find me a different less cumbersome room. She truly saved the day. The staff is friendly, speaks English with ease and understanding, I think this hotel is a wonderful location, and is budget friendly.

Stayed overnight here..much impressed by the trimmings and decor, everything was just pretty on all corners..check-in was easy, staff was courteous, helpful, understood and spoke English...my luggage and bags were even carried by a female employee !! Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe walkable..Room was just right for two, bathroom a little cramped tho'..they had give away candies, brochures..a small coffee corner with pastries beside the veranda on ground floor. Room had an electric fan and outside porch. Bed was comfy with cover-alls, room smelled pleasant. Food establishments nearby too. Price is affordable. Overall our stay was pleasant.

So, if you are looking for "Cheap and Cheerful straight to the point basic accommodation with no frills and thrills", Hotel Malar it is. Accommodation is pretty expensive in Paris, so if you are on a budget, then I suggest this property. The staff were very helpful, nice and always had a smile on their faces with helpful suggests. The room itself is basic, no AC but surprisingly, everything is well thought out. There are bathroom necessities available and the place is neat, hot water shower and it is kept neat all the time. I did not have breakfast at the hotel, so no comments. Do not expect too much if used to luxury. The hotel were old houses turned into a B and B, the walls are also pretty thin if you are a light sleeper, however I reckon you will be exhausted from all the activities and sightseeing around Paris to care so much. But other than that, great value for money!!

Most of the places are at walkable distance unless you dont like walking and few nice restaurants around to enjoy food. Yes the shower is too small as everyone said but I dont mind that as we had a very great customer service :)

This hotel is much underrated! It was beautiful, quaint, and has a "home away from home" atmosphere. Urszula welcomed me and although I was checking in early, she offered me a room that was spotlessly clean and very updated with all the amenities a traveler would need. She provided a map of the area and gave excellent directions to restaurants and places like the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe. The breakfast was excellent and it included more than just the minimal fare. The room was spacious, quiet, nicely decorated, very up to date - and exceptionally clean. I have already recommended to friends who will be visiting Paris that the Malar Hotel is THE place they should stay.

Upon arriving at our hotel we were greeted by Guillaume at reception - check in was quick and easy. As a small old boutique hotel there is no lift but he carried our cases to fourth floor for us. The hotel is quirky, great decoration and in a great location, took us 10-15mins to get to Eiffel Tower as I am not the fastest walker. The rooms are cleaned daily, towels and shampoo/body wash provided. Was extremely hot during our stay and room fan provided free of charge.. There is a lovely courtyard in middle of hotel to sit also. Standard room not huge but you can upgrade to a superior room if you need to. During our stay Guillaume was extremely helpful with directions, transport and always smiling. The night receptionist Zohan was also very friendly and the staff made our stay very pleasant. Would definitely stay again at Hotel Malar.

Cheap and excellent location. Beds are comfortable and room was clean. But unfortunately rooms are tiny, dated and you can hear everything in the room next to you. Windows look out onto courtyard and straight into another room... no shades or blinds. Just massive curtains. Feels like you have no privacy. Staff were lovely but I wont be coming back.
