Loved everything about this hotel! Great location breakfast and overall experience! Would definitely go back. All staff was helpful. Very clean easy to get to anywhere in Paris.i especially liked the decor . Interesting and just the right amount of attention to detail.
I stayed here for 2 nights with my wife as part of a birthday celebration. When we arrived we were greeted by Caroline who is by far the friendliest and most supportive staff member of a hotel I have come across in Paris in a long time! Our first bedroom at the back of the hotel, while comfortable, was noisy in the morning due to road works and Caroline was very accommodating in finding another room (which was lovely - third floor and a superior room which is worth the price difference). I mentioned in passing that it was my wife's birthday and after a lovely day at Versailles we returned to find the bed decorated with balloons and sweets and a Bon Anniversaire message. A real delight and kind thought by Caroline. I echo past comments about the breakfast and the Wine & Cheese and all in all I thought this was a great value for money place.
We were really grateful for the kindness, respect and service we received there. The hotel was very clean and friendly. The breakfast was perfect with many choices. We found the hotel staff to be wonderful people, eager to please and serve and to make us feel extremely welcome. We would go back there in a heartbeat. Thank you for making our visit an amazing experience.
Service - Just excellent by every member of staff we encountered. Absolutely some of the best staff I've come across. They really make this hotel what it is. Location - great for transport (5 minutes walk to the metro) but also if you're on a budget it's only 5 minutes to the airport bus stop (line 2 - Port Maillot). That's really convenient. Room - Ours was a double room and surprisingly spacious. The bed was massive! Decor was very fresh and clean. The only recommendation I'd make to the Manager's is to put a mini fridge in each room. Really kind of expected in this day and age and because the weather happened to be very hot during our stay we really could have used a fridge to have cold drinks available. That added bonus - as a guest of a HappyCulture hotel you also get to use the amenities at all HappyCulture hotels in town. That's mighty handy (and can really save you money) because you can pop in for a free coffee in the lobby or a brek from sight seeing. Also, each hotel has a special daily event (at the Saint Ferdinand it's free cheese and wine every evening) and you can attend any of these as a HappyCulture guest. It's a brilliant idea and I wonder why all hotel chains don't do it!
The hotel is very conveniently located close to to the Arc de Triomphe and to the Palais des congres. The staff is extremely courteous and available. A wine and cheese tasting is offered just before dinner time which gives a very friendly welcome note. However, the rooms, while being very clean and equipped with standard appliances loose a bit in personality. One major drawback was represented by insonorisation which is totally lacking. It felt like sharing the room with my neighbours. If not for this significant issue it would have deserved an additional score.
A great location with respect to the Arc de Triomphe and other Paris highlights. Also 750m from the Airport Direct bus stop (€17) and two Metro stations. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Some US reviewers have commented they are small, but this is Paris, and like London most reasonably priced rooms in key tourist areas are on the small side. The 6pm-8pm free wine and cheese tasting is a nice touch. Receptionist Caroline, was very friendly and helpful, as where her colleagues with advice and directions. Strong recommendation
Summary: a short weekend stay to attend an symphony orchestra at Palais des Congrès de Paris. The room was small but had all the basics: nice queen size bed, seating area, kettle, tea and cups, shower and sink (with towel and soap), and working air conditioning. The staff were friendly and very welcoming. The location is incredible! Traveling to the hotel: Roughly 30 minutes from Gare du Nord on the Metro 4 and 1 lines €1.90 per person for a single ticket. Then, just a short 3 minute walk from the station to the hotel. Check-in: We arrived around 1:30pm, it was in a beautiful and friendly area. Upon entering their small foyer we was greeted kindly by the staff and was checked-in in no time. The manager also came out to acquaint himself. Turns out this hotel was part of a large community/group of hotel chains that calls themselves HappyCulture where you can enjoy their services at other hotels around Paris! Our room: The room had nice, large windows and had a very homely feel to it. The bed was comfortable and there was the lovely freezing cold air-conditioning unit. The room and bathroom was a little on the small side (in comparable to other 4 star hotels I've stayed in) but I was definitely satisfied with it. Everything was clean, tidy and in working order. It was also very convenient to have a kettle, tea and cups in the room. The wifi is free and fast. Food: Having had the breakfast buffet there I felt it lacked variety and was a little expensive. The dining room maybe had enough seats for 20 people so was quite small and cramped. The food selection was limited but satisfactory. It was €13 per person which is why I felt a bit disappointed. But nevertheless, it was a very nice convenience to have. I did enjoy my breakfast and found the variety was enough for me. Overall, if you're looking for convenience because you have a very busy day ahead then don't hesitate to have breakfast here. I'm glad I did because I had to be at the Louvre nice and early. Staff: Overall the staff was great, very friendly and welcoming. We were always greeted upon entering and they were helpful too at recommendations. A big thumbs up for the staff. Local amenities: You won't have any trouble on finding a restaurant there. In fact, Le Relais de Venise (the original one!) is super close by (the next road) if you want to enjoy a decent steak and chips. Carrefour supermarket is directly opposite the hotel too if you want to buy some little groceries and water. Palais de Congres is also shockingly close by too. Distance from nearest tourist site: The closest tourist site is the Arc de Triomphe. It's only a 10minute walk down the main road. So you get to enjoy the surroundings and see the arc on approach. Then you can keep walking through Av. des Champs-Elysees to explore the famous shopping district and find some fine-dining restaurants. Overall: I would definitely stay here again given the location, the restaurants surrounding the hotel, the ease of getting there, and the ease of literally walking out of the hotel and straight through to Av. des Champs Elysees. Not to mention the Metro station that's 3 minutes away for you to take to Eiffel towel and the museums, Moulin Rouge, etc. It's a very nice area and feels safe. Also at the end of the day you will get a good nights sleep!
The hotel is just a short walk from the metro station, very conveniently located. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The staff were all extremely helpful - we had arranged for two American friends to meet us at the hotel... we hadn't realised there would be a free cheese and wine 'happy hour' going on but the staff welcomed us all to participate. Excellent service.
not a good standing, and not a 4 stars hotel. old hotel, bed was not confortable. The biggest room is to little. The light of the corridor illuminates the room during the night. Benefits do not live up to expectations
Very friendly staff!! Quiet en well decorated room, wonderful bathroom, beds are heavenly good and breakfast was excellent. The hotel offers coffee all day and cheese and wine in the lounge in the evening. Feels as if you were at home. The "pocket wifi" was very useful !!! A place to come back to.
