Lovely hotel, great location. Staff could not have been nicer, they were so helpful. As for the elevator, its standard size for Paris. Room was fairly large and updated for Paris-great shower. Restaurant downstairs was great - Walk to S Georges & Pigalle metro stops. Yes Pigalle is bit racy, but you walk right through it in less than 30 seconds, no big deal. Walking distance to Sacre Coeur, all of Montmarte very close. Less than 1 mile to Gar du Nord. We loved staying there and we will be back.

As soon as we arrived we were told that the Superior Room we had reserved and already paid for had already been given away and that we would have to be put in another (smaller) room and could switch in the morning. They accommodated with chips, water, a bottle of wine, and breakfast but NO REFUND. The desk attendant clearly felt horrible and said her manager would be back in the morning to talk with us and "make it right"... wrong. The manager was SO RUDE. No empathy, no apology, nothing... simply blamed the computer AND THEN took away breakfast for the second day stating we would have to pay for that (even though the desk attendant already said we would get breakfast during our stay). The desk attendant also stated that we should be getting slippers in our Superior Room since we were on our honeymoon and the manager apparently vetoed that decision as well (not saying I would've worn them, but irked that he decided to take that perk away because we were only in the room for one night). On another note, the "breakfast" was not worth the price - go to a local shop instead. And the rooms appeared to be half cleaned (or maybe it was a rush to get us in the right room... you know, the one we actually paid for). Overall, great service from the desk attendant, but HORRIBLE SERVICE from management. We definitely won't stay here again.

disappointment from the start

Dear Nicole, I am really sorry to read what you wrote, as it goes counter all our guests comments. We mistakenly accommodate in a double room instead of a Superior for the first night, and made sure you had the Superior room for the second night, to fix this mistake, we have provided you with the breakfast and a bottle of wine, which on your point of view was not enough and again I am sorry for that. The reservation has been made through Expedia.com on a non refundable non exchangebale basis, payment has been done with Expedia.com and any refund would've possible but through Expedia and not directly with hotel staff. On the fact of being rude, or non-empathic I am more than surprised, we try be as close from our guests as possible, going beyond our roles and trying to make everything to reach our guests needs. Finally, I hope we will have the chance and the pleasure of welcoming you back, and I am sure, you will have a totally diffrent opinion on the hotel, breakfast and specially management.
