Be careful when booking with this hotel, they advertise on booking sites that you will not be charged until you check-in, however the minute you book, they block money on your account ( €100+) and when you cancel it is a mission to get the money unblocked. Michel the receptionist is rude and unprofessional in his correspondence with guests, to the extent of blaming international banks as being liars and trying to defraud their customers. Claiming they have issues with American, Swiss and Arab banks ... because American, Swiss and Arab banks clearly don’t know what they doing 🙄.

We arrived on an overnight flight from New York and were quite exhausted when we got to the hotel at 9 am. Though our rooms weren't ready yet, the lady who checked us in could not have been more welcoming and kind. She asked them to hurry preparing our rooms and in the meantime we relaxed in the pleasant lobby. Our rooms were tiny, but cozy and super clean. The beds were so comfortable that once we lay down, with the drapes closed against the light, we unintentionally slept all day! The location of this hotel is fantastic, easy walk from Montparnasse (where the airport bus dropped us off) and right around the corner from Montparnasse-Bienvenue metro station. So many amazing restaurants right on the block, it was impossible to choose. We walked to the theatre that evening and saw a wonderful show, then had wine and dessert at the place right next door (so close that we could even pick up the strong wifi signal from the hotel). The wifi was excellent. I can't believe anyone is complaining about the quality of the bread at breakfast--go 10 paces and an entire boulangerie is at your fingertips! And how refreshing that this hotel is 100 percent nonsmoking! A couple of caveats--I had trouble getting the water hot in the shower. Possibly because we were on the fifth floor? And our room faced a street where people poured out of a nightclub noisily at 5 am. But we thought that was rather interesting to observe, and we were there on a Saturday night so I imagine other nights are not quite as noisy. This was not only an affordable choice but a perfect spot to base ourselves for a day of acclimating to Paris and seeing a lively, colorful and fun part of the city. Thank you to the excellent staff for providing such a great experience!

I spent four nights here while in Paris for work. The locations is very good. It is just a 5 minute walk from the airport bus and Gare Montparnesse. Breakfast is simple-- bread, pastries, orange juice and coffee--but satisfying. There are lots of good restaurants close by.

Breakfast on the first day was inedible. The bread was stale, bendy and you couldn't cut it. Croissant and pain au chocolat sad and tired. Very basic fruit juice, so forget freshly squeezed orange!. Breakfast on subsequent days not much better. They say bread etc. brought in fresh at 5:00am. Our suspicion is that bulk buy is defrosted at 5:00am. Service in the dining room pleasant and friendly. At 8 Euros for a pretty poor breakfast don't fall for the bed and breakfast deal. When I complained about the first breakfast they said there would be a reimbursement. On leaving after 3 nights they explained there was no way I could claim back through the hotel, I would have to do it through the booking site. This hotel is run on a shoe string. Couldn't find a spare bulb for bedside lamp but one did appear later, thank you. Boss was never there. Behind the counter staff just standing in. You need to sleep with window shut because it's so noisy in the street all night. Our bedroom was tiny, you could just squeeze between the end of the bed and the TV, they did explain the picture on the web site was one of a superior room. So the picture on the web site is a bit naughty. Wifi on fifth floor drops in and out. In room safe broken, I was told someone would fix it by our last day but no one appeared.

It was a nice calm stay. although the room was kind off small comparing to number of gusts. but the thing is that the quality of the breakfast was not that good and we had a toddler with us so we were not able to open the window and enjoy the weather cause it is not safe. indeed, the staff were cool and responsive and smiling, thank you Berkeley team.

Very disappointed by the manager's attitude. Spent 4 days without wifi ("out of service"). We were annoyed by noisy neighbours and loud music until 1:30AM so we kindly requested to switch to another available room (same category), we were answered that we had to pay for the "extra night". A pity for this hotel yet well located, but no excuse for so little attention to customers.

I recently stayed over on short notice. Front desk was friendly and helpful even at 1 am. The hotel is walking distance from Montparnasse station. Same as most of the private hotels in the city, everything is compact (two person lift) so do not expect massive rooms and balconies. Good housekeeping is key for me and these rooms do not disappoint - clean linen, clean bathroom. I stayed on the 5th floor overlooking the street which is very quiet with a view of the street below. Breakfast is usually expensive in small boutique hotels (8 Euro for a coffee and two fresh croissants), mine was freshly delivered from the bakery down the street. Bottom line question, would i stay here again - definitely yes!

for a reduced prepaid price, the room is a fairly good deal, smallish single, but on a cheapy style, no plastic glass in bathroom and poor lighting in room, breakfast was like a canteen, stale croissant/bread in a tiny room, the hotel has known better days

Good located, next to underground, train station and restaurants. The reception and commons areas seem a bit old-fashioned, but room are spacious and modern. The room could be better with some soundproof, at least in the first floors. The heating (air conditioner) is a bit noisy and the bath hasn’t any heating, so to have a shower is a bit cold. The hotel has a powerful free WiFi.

I book in this hotel around every 4 months it's near everything: cinema, McDonalds, Burger King, Fnac, Pharmacie, and many restaurants. Metro station is 10 seconds far from the hotel. Room is clean and small but the entrance is normal. I Always book in this lovely hotel.
