The hotel has a great location and the staff was very kind. Rooms are well decorated in an old French way. The beds were not very comfortable. In view of the special offer, the price was fair for the location.
The room, location and breakfast were brilliant. However it's the staff that took it to the next level. Stephane and Thomas were absolutely fabulous as were most of the staff with the exception of 1 grumpy man that seemed to be running breakfast on our last day.
I am usually critical but Balzac Hotel surpassed all my expectations. From the amazing service by each member of staff I met and quick speed of room service, as well as cleanliness of room and the perfect distance from Champs Elysees (30 seconds walk), its an ideal place to stay on your trip to Paris. What I specially enjoyed was that it was so close to the main street yet not on the main street so you arent in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the street when you want to go back to your room. You have alot of other places you can walk to directly from the hotel, and the cab fare comes to 6 to 8 euros for alot of major attractions you may want to see. Totally going back to Balzac for my next stay.
My mother and I stayed at this boutique gem hotel back in Oct. Since it was fashion week we were lucky to book a 5*hotel anywhere at that time in Paris. We stayed for a week, for both of our birthdays, we have been taking trips for ages to celebrate. The location is amazing, just off Champs-Élysées, right from where our chauffeur had dropped us off, we could see why it was recommended from our travel agent. Our luggage was taken care of right away, we were welcomed nicely. Breakfast is served in a relatively small space compared to big hotels, but very cute with a glass ceiling, the weight staff is most attentive, the brekfast choices are of a great variety, and with a great choice of pastries too! The room was beautifully decorated, very French, and most importantly very clean. Ours had an Eiffel tower view and a balcony. We were upgraded to the room with a view as a courtesy of the hotel for our birthdays. A tea/coffee maker would have been nice, but you can request one, since I caught a cold, and it just wasn't worth making a fuss about, we like to be out anyways for most of the time. The elevator was broken down for a couple of days, but we were taken to another one so everything turned out nice. And the best for last- the staff. They went above and beyond, it was our first time in Paris so naturally we had a lot of questions, every one of them was answered with a few more tips we wouldn't have known otherwise, to get the best out of the city of lights.
Fantastic boutique 5 star hotel conveniently located one block from Champs-Elysee and two blocks from Arc de Triomphe. Staff was extremely accommodating. Slight disappointment with a rude guest who chose to have a phone conversation in the cocktail area via speakerphone. Front desk chose not to deal with it so we went to our room. Very disappointed with the lack of etiquette at a 5 star hotel. Other than that I would recommend.
This could be your honeymoon stay or special occasion. Book into president suite, you won't get disappointed with the view of Eiffel tower which is magnificent view from the balcony. It is an ideal to have breakfast in-room when it's not rain. The location is superb, only 2 minutes walk to Champs elysees avenue and probably another 2 mins to Arc De Triomphe. Staff is very friendly, sufficient and well inform. This is a truly 5 stars hotel.
Lobby and front desk area was really nice. Our view was at the back of some buildings. Sink didn't drain well. Diverter knob in the shower fell out. There is this sort of fixed glass shower door in the tub shower that only covered half the tub so water got everywhere when you took a shower. And the toilet couldn't even flush down a single piece of toilet paper by itself. Good property aside from the plumbing issues.
The reception was just amazing! Specially Stephan, Grooms guys were amazed too! But furniture becoming old, there is no coffee machine in the room and at 4 am, the room service was not able to bring me one!
if you want to sleep near the Avenue des Champs-Élysées ok. if not, you can for sure find better. The room was nice but without even a cooffee maker or kattle. it was my 50 birthday, the hotel didn't even send a greeting card.
I am giving the Hotel Balzac an outstanding review because it's a gem with discreet service and an excellent staff. The concierge team of Denis and Patrick were all knowledgeable. The receptionists always friendly and housekeeping crew were perfect- room was immaculate all the time. A perfect "10" to the Hotel Balzac.
