Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was kept clean and stocked everyday. Very busy location on noisy boulevard very close to train stations. Poor sound proofing between rooms. Contstant street noise outside hotel. Many restaurants, bars, etc nearby.
Very nice hotel! Room was a little small but this wasn’t an issue for 2 of us and we didn’t spend much time in there as we were exploring Paris. Breakfast is not worth the 12€ as it was just some pastry and coffee but this charge was only added if you ate it so we had it once and ate elsewhere for the following few days. It is very near to Gare du Nord station where the Eurostar arrives and was a short walk, so this was perfect when arriving late on Friday night. The staff were also very nice and friendly!
There’s nothing particularly wrong with this hotel if you consider the general price bracket, but I have stayed in far better 3 star hotels in Paris in the vicinity. I only chose it because of poor availability elsewhere. Pros Not many, but it has a walk-in shower rather than those annoying dated stand-in bath/showers and the room was clean From desk manager was friendly Modern’ish room and ensuite in general (ie it didn’t look dated) Cons Worst breakfast I recall having at any 3 star hotel. “Plastic” food best describes it - largely tasteless self served in a tiny basement dining room. I had to hunt around for the milk, which was in the under counter fridge in its original carton. Save your €12 and eat out! Room is very compact. I could not believe how they hot a double bed in there but for 1 person for 1 night it was manageable. No air conditioning so I slept with the windows open - it sounded like Paris’ busiest street - the noise never stopped Bed was slightly too hard for me but that’s a personal thing. Very slow lift No English TV channels (that I could find) I won’t be staying again because I think I can do better for the budget.
Rooms are much smaller then they appear in photos, booked a double bed, but got a small individual one instead and because i forgot to check 2 people in the app, during check in i was asked to pay extra 20 euros, which was fine by me, but only during check out they explained it was 20 per day. I traveled to more then 40 countries, cant say i am not an experienced traveler, but that was a new low. Staff was still friendly, so my problem is with the management on this.
This was my second visit to the Alane Hotel. Excellent location, two blocks from the Gare de l'Est and Metro. Friendly helpful staff, all of whom are fluent in English. Quiet at night even though located on the Bd. Magenta. Many shops at the Gare de l'Est: markets, book store, ATM, restaurants.
The room is clean . Front office staff very friendly . Hot water shower is great. Very close to Metro Station to bring you to Galleries La Fayette shopping mall by taking Metro 7 and 5 stops to reach . If you are taking the Paris Open Tour Hop On Hop Off , just walk from Alane Hotel to Gare Du Nord , the bus is there by 930am .
Me and my fiance went to Paris for a 3days we stayed in the alane hotel I was great. It was a ten minute walk from gare da nord and 3 from fare da l'est so easy to get a metro to the center of Paris. The staff at the alane hotel was very welcoming and they speak great English so if you don't know a lot of French you can still have a nice chat to the staff. the rooms were nice and tidy.
Every member of staff at this hotel offered outstanding customer service, helpful advice on travel and conversations in excellent English (or you can practice French) about your day or evening activities. Coraline was also very helpful when I made enquries via email. And I would definetely stay here again for the staff the price and its closeness to Euro star and Metro stations. I'd read previous reviews which complained about the size of rooms espically the ones in the roof, but I'd also read they were quieter and bigger. So I booked the 6th floor which I would stay in again. And here are the reasons for the marking. I'm 4ft 10 and even I cracked my head on the angled roof beside the bed and I couldn't stand up directly under the shower. The hottest four days since 1949 in Paris and there was no aircon and we were told there were no fans! The hotel was fully booked (32 rooms) and the breakfast room in the basement is tiny with only 19 seats so lots of sequence dancing for self service. Also both the hotel lifts broke which meant a long climb after a late night out. But the night manager gave us a complimentary drink to help us on our way.
Staff were very helpful and also very friendly. Hotel is a small hotel, open 24 hrs (although main entrance is locked at night) but there was a female member of staff to open the door when we returned at 2a.m. Our room was very small, there was no outside ventilation to the bathroom. Shower was hot, with plenty of water, but, again, it was a very small, almost claustrophobic space. A nice little bar for a nightcap would be a welcome addition to this hotel, although there is a licensed cafe next door.
No frills, basic hotel short walk from Gard du Nord. Considering it was on a main road, noise was not a problem. Rooms very small but imaculately clean. Breakfast was basic. Staff here were wonderful, friendly and very helpful.
