I really loved this place. In the heart of Shoreditch so theres tons of bars and food spots within walking distance. I was traveling alone so I love how social this place is. You will meet people in the common areas and not feel alone. The room is a bit small but you probly wont spend much time in there. The bathrooms are on your floor and clean and private. Shower too. Affordable and worth it. They have a convenient kitchen downstairs as well as common area with wifi on the main floor. I had a blast !!

THIS WAS GREAT, THIS WAS GREATTHIS WAS GREATTHIS WAS GREATTHIS WAS GREATTHIS WAS GREATTHIS WAS GREATTHIS WAS GREATTHIS WAS GREATTHIS WAS GREATTHIS WAS GREAT

Good hostel in a decent neighborhood. Would stay there again.

Clean and nice! But it's just too far from the center, The neighborhood around it's not safe some try to steal my wallet in the metro next to the hostel

After check in I went to my room my bed was taked ask for another room. The guy at the staf was completely unpolite. I just ask for another room he told me they canot control people moving from a room to other and I understand but he doesn't have to raise his voice like it was my fault. By other hand there was mold in the shower room. I only stay for one day but book for 2 night.

My 16th Generator visit, great brand recognition and marketing but increasingly worse experiences. Stayed at this branch 2x over a one week period and unfortunately it was just one terrible experience after the other. Will keep the review concise and summarize due to space. Called ahead and asked about luggage storage options, was told a price and time limit that was incorrect. Had lunch, the 20 minute croquet monsieur was expensive and dry as a brick. Beds are super short, I’m not overly tall but covered the full length of the bed. Needed change to use machine in the hostel and their change machine was broken, was scuffed at and asked to use the supermarket across the street. Had breakfast, the pricing was inconsistent and the cashier girl was flirting with customers charging them based on how much she seemingly liked them. My room was tiny, I could not even open a suitcase between beds so I went into the hallway to finish packing my bag before leaving, fully dressed, not putting anything outside my bag. A manager and security guard quickly appeared, without asking started yelling at me. I was told to immediately go into the bathroom because I was embarrassing the hotel. Tried to argue my case but wasn’t even allowed to utter a full sentence, they told me that I wasn’t allowed to open my luggage in public places and that if I didn’t leave immediately I would be thrown out. Thanks, no more.

Normally I didn't choose mixed dorms, it's not comfortable for me but it not this time. I thought it will be worst:)

Quite nice as far as hostels are concerned. Travelled as a family of four, with two kids under 10. Had a 4-bed room. It works much like many chain hotels, with key card room entry, personal ensuite toilet and shower rooms, and an open vanity space. Breakfast is available on site for a fee and looked decent, though we did not partake. The bunk beds were firm and came with corresponding padlockable storage boxes underneath. They were fitted with peg board style sides with integrated reading lamps and storage pockets. Being a hostel, they do not provide soap or towels (available to rent for 6€ each) and you have to make the bed. We found the room stuffy, and while the climate control instructions were clear, it did not seem effective. Opening the windows solved the temperature problem but brought in lots of additional noise from the street and nearby rail lines. Bag storage is available in the form of rentable lockers. Large ones, which will fit two carry on roller bags and two half-filled backpacks, start at 3€ for 6 hours and can be rented for up to 24 hours, with repeated access capability. These only accept 1 and 2€ coins. Change machine is on site. HSBC has an ATM two doors away. Staying with children gets you some fun looks, but for the location, which admittedly isn't so wonderful in the immediate vicinity, and the price, even with the nickel and dime on what are standard features at hotels, it's acceptable for short stays, as space is cramped.

Good place, but needs some improvements. Very modern, but the showers don’t stay very hot. The washer and dryer system is needing to be fixed. The prices could be lower too.

It was my first time staying at a hostel, and it was excellent. I realize that there’s a certain luck-factor with regard to who you get for roommates (mine were amazing and ended up spending the day with me in Paris) so I’ll focus on the hostel itself: The front staff was excellent. Very friendly, and spoke great English. The cafe was exceptional, and also friendly. A great place to lounge around or wait. They have decent security, but be forewarned that outside food is not allowed in your rooms, and they will stop you if you try to bring it in. The rooms were clean, and clean linen was provided free of charge (towels and a lock are extra). Rooms come with locker chests under the beds. The location was probably my favorite part. It’s directly across the street from the Colonel Fabien metro stop, so once you learn the metro system, you can get anywhere from your front door.

The hostel was pretty much what I expected from a hostel. Beds were decent, not what I have at home but not the worst I've slept on. Facilities could use attention - only one men's toilet working on my floor, and laundry out of order (4 laundromats within 5 min walk, so that wasn't as bad). Hostel seems to attract international travelers as well as large groups. Got very nervous when I saw a busload of teenage boys in the lobby (on a school trip?), but I never heard a peep from them or saw them again, so maybe they try to keep them all on another floor or something. Common areas (at least the cafe and roof) are nice. Be aware that everyone in Paris smokes, so couldn't stay long on the roof deck, which was a shame because the view was really nice. Can't say about the bar/club, since I don't drink. Wasn't crazy that you weren't allowed outside food, since I have food allergies and couldn't eat anything that was available in the hostel's cafe. Mea culpa - should have checked on that before booking. Fortunately, lots of restaurants/shops within 20 min walk w/ good gluten-free options. The neighborhood is fine, just not as fancy and sanitized as tourist areas. It's on the border of the 10th and 19th, so caters more to locals. Ignore reviews that say the neighborhood is dangerous. Those reviewers have just never seen a homeless person before. There's graffiti and poverty. There are also families and trendy restaurants and organic markets. You'll be fine.

Very nice hostel near metro stop and supermarket. Food selection in the hostel itself not the best. The hostel has its own club and has 24 hour security which is fabolous. Some of the reception staff could use refresher customer service training. Lines to check in always long and it seemed like never enough reception staff to help. The Free Walking Tour picks up from the hotel which is a plus. The rooms are very modern and clean. Overall a good stay and will return if in Paris.

Stayed at Generator Paris for 4 nights & was very impressed with the decor & cleanliness. Hotel staff was polite & courteous. Neighborhood is conveniently next to the Colonel Favien Metro stop & a FrancPrix grocery store (do yourself a favor & go squeeze your own orange juice!). Only complaint is that you can easily end up in a rundown area with people camping out in tents at night if you walk a few minutes in the wrong direction, so be aware of your surroundings.

Dear Edison, Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that you have had an enjoyable stay. In regards to the location, the hostel is located in the 10th district, which is a 15 minutes tube ride to the city. This isn't an unsafe district, therefore I am really sad to hear you had a bad feeling about it. We hope to see you soon. Regards,
