It was located close to the center, and close to metro so it was easy to get anywhere. The room is a bit small but you're not buying a home, just staying at a hotel for a few days. Internet was good, staff were great, bed was comfy and everything was clean. One of the days I was there Internet router was acting up, Frances ( I believe is his name) was on top of it to get it working. Really thoughtful. We didn't get the breakfast because at a first glance it seemed pricy for a breakfast. However getting breakfast/lunch elsewhere was more pricy and inconvenient. So I would recommend getting your room to include breakfast.
I would not rate this a "4 star" hotel - more like a 2 or a 3. The staff were excellent and very accommodating.Our first stay the room was clean. The breakfast is nice and worth the extra 10 Euros each day per person. The rooms are small. Window was facing the street, if you are a light sleeper - may not be good for you as you may hear the sounds of the city of Paris outside. We left for Rome and came back for 1 last night at the BLC, there is only a sheet that covers the mattress and the comforter... Under the sheet, the mattress cover had hairs... AC was off during the stay, under the comforter it was hot, without the comforter - cold. hard to sleep.
It's a bit hard to find, nearer the Metro Charonne than Bastille, on RUE Richard Lenoir rather than BLVD Richard Lenoir. The all-white decor is striking. Hiding the shower behind a curtain is clever. Staff are friendly and helpful. The recent remodel is beginning to show signs of wear in the common areas. The neighborhood is mixed, with a motorcycle repair shop next door and ethnic food shops and a good variety of restaurants within a few minutes' walk.
Clean, neat, recent renovation, very modern. The shower and sink are unusual but workable. Free wifi in the room is a great feature when it works, but it was out of service one day of my stay. The desk clerk offered a free drink and helped with printing a boarding pass due to the wifi troubles. Comfortable bed, pillows and comforter. Large new flat screen tv. Good air conditioning!
