InterContinental Miramar Panama4.0 out of 5.0

The Miramar was lovely. The location is great for walking. The room was beautiful. We were on the 25th floor and it was very quiet. The staff was wonderful. We needed to find distilled water and they went out of their way to help us. When one pharmacy didn't have it, they suggested another. It was a great adventure and we finally located it at Ribha Smith. When we had some difficulty reaching the driver we had hired, they called. They were diligent in their efforts to make sure we were helped. The hotel is across from the ocean. There is a lovely small park behind it and we enjoyed walking around it in the morning and in the late afternoon. I would stay there again.
The Intercontinetal was probably impressive when it opened. It is now surrounded by huge skyscrapers. It's on the very busy and noisy highway along the coast in the middle of Panama City. There is heavy traffic at all hours. You have to cross pedestrian bridges either to walk along the water on the pedestrian/bike path or in the town. However, it's not an attractive or interesting part of town. My room was spacious and had good storage and good lighting. The bathtub was a bit dirty. The buffet at the hotel is good. No balconies. There is a large pool area, if you don't mind the very noisy traffic just behind you.
I like ocean view, the food is the best and room is very comfortable. Paola and other workers very helpfull. Grounds are beautiful.
The rooms were great, the bay view was great, breakfast buffet was great and the location was definitely a plus. While the service was good, there are very few people who have a good command of the English language. I know it is not the US but if you are going to have a large part of your customer base be English speaking people you need to adapt. I am pretty much a world traveler as you can tell by my Trip Advisor badges and hotel and airline statuses so I am speaking as someone who is familiar with traveling to Spanish speaking countries; I never have problems as the places like the hotels with finding English speaking staff. The language barrier didn't take away from the great rating the hotel received but did cause some issues with our stay. We got around by Uber which was a good option and the hotel is so well located that most Uber rides were $3 or $4. I would definitely stay at this property again if ever in Panama City, perhaps I will just bring a translating mechanism to make things easier.
We stayed three nights at this downtown luxury hotel. The rooms were clean and first class. The service from the bellman to the front desk to the concierge was impeccable. We had access to the executive lounge on the 5th floor and enjoyed breakfast and happy hour there each day. The view was phenomenal. Downtown, right on the Bay, across from the yacht harbor. On your left is the sunrise, have a few drinks, wait a while, a few more, then on your right is the sunset.
We made a Club reservation which really is worth the while. It’s just a few dollars more per night but you have the best service, free breakfast and happy hour on the executive floor. I really recommend it! We loved the friendly staff at the front desk that made us feel at home. Thanks Yairis, Irma, Yersel and Bertha!!! The pool at the hotel is great, really beautiful and nice drinks at the bar. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The ocean view is fantastic! Location of the hotel is great. We’ll be back! Anne Skoldberg and Emilio Surita
This is a 4* hotel so below some of the nicer ones but very good quality/price. Large room, magnificent view, water, safe etc the usuals. Nice bar on ground floor, amazing pool (biggest i have ever seen!) and very nice restaurant. Sunday brunches are amazing.
We had a nice large room with a great ocean view; nothing luxurious, but comfortable. Housekeeping staff need a kick in the butt. The desk lamp didn't work, there was one hand towel for two people, and a coffee maker with attractive cups but no coffee. To their credit, there was one pack of tea. The fridge was unusable as it was crammed with wet bar drinks at exorbitant prices. There is a computer available for use on the sixth floor as well as meeting rooms. We really didn't explore the whole facility as we had to get up at dark thirty to catch a flight. They have a nice buffet and a pretty nice gift shop.
Refreshed and Energized - Had an amazing time! 553551224 Panama was a totally pleasant surprise. This hotel met all our needs. Modern and beautiful. We arrived in beautiful and warm Panama New Year's Eve. With the assistance of Wendy & Giovanni we were able to purchase last minute tickets to the Intercontinental Mirarmar's New Year's Eve party and what a party it was. A DJ, live band, food served all night and drinks included. At midnight the City hosted a fantastic Fireworks display. This is how we started our vacation! The pool, oh the pool. Large, beautiful, scenic, large plants, lots of pool chairs, plush blue towels. The room - we didn't have a room with a view but it was still perfect. Modern, clean, king bed, beautiful duvet & pillows and an air conditioning unit that you can turn on/off when too cold. Flat screen TV, free movies to watch in English and free Wifi that works in your room, a safe and a large beautiful shower. We would like to thank the staff who made our vacation memorable and a pleasure. We will be back. Wendy, Bertha, Giovanni, Frederico, Erika, Robin Aura, Jorge, Carlos, Jose & Sharon. A special shout out to the girl who makes the omelettes. We love you. Morning brunch was included and appreciated. Delicious, fresh, sweet fruits a wide variety of everything. 99% of the population speaks Spanish. If this is a problem learn some before you go. We just went with the flow & nothing was a problem.
We reserved a 2-bedroom suite and adjoining room so that we could attend the hotel's New Years party. We were not disappointed. We arrived early and though our rooms were not yet available, Piper checked us in, stowed our bags, and promised to see if the rooms could be readied early while we partook of the sumptuous breakfast buffet. Still early, we then arranged through the hotel for a driver to take us to the Miraflores Locks. (An excellent driver, he waited for us with an umbrella as it began raining while we were in the locks exhibit. The featured event of the evening, a grand party in the ballroom was well-organized. Seats at the table we'd reserved were waiting for us as was a huge assortment of food, and a seemingly endless supply of alcohol. Though mostly unfamiliar to our American ears, the live band had the mostly Latin American crowd singing along. Despite the crowds and special occasion, simply things like printing boarding passes in the business center were handled well. The waterfront views from our balcony were excellent.
