InterContinental Miramar Panama4.0 out of 5.0

When we went to checkin, reception somehow didnt have details of our booking, even though i made the reservation directly with the hotel! We therefore ended up paying 20% more than what we should have which left a seriously sour taste. When we got to our suite, i have to say the views were stunning. as well as the suite itself. The main reason i'm writing this review is because i have never experienced such bad service from an intercontinental hotel. By the outdoor pool, service was almost non-existent and on three occasions i had to walk to the bar myself. The bar was very dirty, not a nice bar at all. Staff very unfriendly and doing me a favour by serving us drinks! as always, very happy with the exec lounge but even there the service was lacking.
I was teaching on a course being held in this fine hotel, so cannot assess value for money directly, However, it was a great place to stay: lovely, large, well-appointed rooms; fine breakfast buffet; agreeable cocktail bar; a splendid pool; great staff. In general, the conference facilities were good, though the air-con was a bit unpreictable and the conference lunch was disappointing (but I guess that was more to do with budget than essential quality). My ocean view room on the 17th floor was verty good, with a magnificent outlook across the bay and to the ships waiting to transit the Canal.
Couldn't ask for a better view. Breakfast had a good variety and was a real plus. Piano bar had a nice atmosphere nice with full selection. Several very nice restaurants were within walking distance. The rooms had a little more wear and tear then I'd expect for a five star hotel. Overall a very nice stay.
Great location, great room and great food! The view is amazing. Very friendly staff. Easy access to a the major sights. Easy walk to to the old town. Really great stay. Taxis easy and accessible from this location. Great!
Great variety at breakfast and very friendly staff. Good working facilities and meeting rooms. The room was very cold when I arrived (15 C), and although I tried to increase temperature I was not able to. Personnel at the desk was very helpful and very nice at checkout. Would defintely recommend it.
I stay at Intercontinentals around the world quite often and this one has been the poorest experience so far. We had a great view but most of the time windows had condensation and we couldn't see anything. Breakfast had really options but it wasn't nice to hear the staff jelling about their working conditions in the kitchen. The ACs had water dropping from them. The worst part was when we ventured to take a couple of snacks from the minibar without the price list present and we were surprised at checkout with more than abusive prices. I never paid such an embarrassing amount at any hotel minibar before.
Intercontinental Miramar Panama meets the luxury standard of Intercontinental hotels. This hotel is located near the ocean so you get a great view and a cool breeze. The customer service at the hotel is accommodating, willing to help with your travel needs. The staff assisted me with arranging rides to and from the airport. Also, the staff helped me arrange a trip to the Panama Canal which is twenty minutes away from the hotel. I would recommend using the pool due to the great weather of Panama and its great view the ocean, which is right front of the hotel. Moreover, I enjoyed the morning buffet at the restaurant. The hotel also has a twenty four hour room service if you are interested in eating late or dinning inside the room.
I stayed at the InterContinental Miramar Panama for 4 nights, predominately for business. The view from my room, overlooking ships lining up to enter the canal, was lovely. The room service and checkout left a lot to be desired. In particular, upon checking out, my bill included about $100 of liquor I did not consume, charged to my room throughout my stay. Additionally, avoid the "spa" as it isn't really part of the hotel, and more importantly, my toe was hurt during a manicure.
I spent a week at this hotel, my schedule did not allow me to enjoy this hotel as I should have, I missed out on a wonderful gym, beautiful pool and a spa but the staff was immaculate. My room was always better than my liking, front desk was always helpful, one lady who replaced my rewards card when I miss placed it and the guy who assured me check out would be fast and easy (sorry I don't have your names). Yvonne, think that's your name who seems to be a manager/supervisor was excellent helped me a lot. Breakfast was wide ranging so vegetarians can eat comfortable, Ariel Gonzalez was the person I interacted most with during my stay, he was quite pleasant. Special thanks to him our light conversations was welcomed on mornings. My room has a wonderful view of the ocean and some of the city, this hotel is beautiful I'm sure I am going to be staying here again until then all the staff have a beautiful day.
For a fairly modern urban Central American city, this hotel disappoints. It is brutally loud situated between two major streets/highways. Our telephone rang every 15 minutes throughout the night until we unplugged it from the wall. Air conditioning is abnormally loud and does not work properly as we froze in 16 degree Celsius temps all evening. Given photos look decent on the website, the suite we stayed in was dated and worn. Showers were molded while closets were broken. We encountered several Intercontinental staff such as staff at brunch as well as the pool who were less than hospitable. On a positive note, the concierge arranged for a spectacular welcoming local tour guide who showed our family an exceptional Panamanian experience at the Canal & Old City.
